The Touching Touws River Lodge is a timber double-storey self-catering lodge situated on the banks of the Touws river in the heart of Wilderness, and is in an excellent position from which to explore all the wonders of the Garden Route. Surrounded by mountains, rivers, lakes and beaches, the area is a nature lovers paradise.
Located in the gated community of Pirates Creek, the lodge enjoys beautiful views over the gently winding river and indigenous lush forest covered hills in the background. The property has sprawling lawns for kids to run, play and ride their bikes. There is fishing and canoeing in the river as well as a communal swimming pool on-site. The Joplin's Steak Bar Restaurant is conveniently located on-site.
The lodge can accommodate up to 6 guests and comprises 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and an open-plan kitchen, dining and living area. The main bedroom is located upstairs and contains a queen-size bed, aircon, a remote controlled ceiling fan, and a balcony with river views. The second bedroom is located upstairs and contains 2 single beds and a ceiling fan. These 2 rooms share an upstairs bathroom with a rain shower, a bath, a toilet and a washbasin. The third bedroom is located downstairs and contains a double bed. The second bathroom is downstairs and contains a rain shower, a toilet and washbasin.
The kitchen is equipped with a gas oven and hob, fridge, kettle, toaster, all cutlery and crockery, and a breakfast bar. The dining area contains a 6-seater dining table. The lounge area contains seating, and a flat-screen TV and full DStv. Free Wi-Fi is available. Outside there is a wood deck with an outdoor dining and lounge set. Enjoy your morning coffee or relax with sundowners and a braai on the patio overlooking the river. There is a private outdoor built-in braai area.
The lodge has its own 2-seater canoe for guests to use for free. Hop into the canoe and take a trip up the river deep into Ebb and Flow National Park. There is also a 2-seater fishing kayak available on request for an additional charge.
The lodge is 1 km from the main Wilderness Beach. Wilderness Village is 2 km away and has many restaurants, shops and a convenience store. Activities in the area include hiking, paragliding, horse riding, segway tours, canyoning, abseiling, canoeing and ferry tours.

I would like to suggest that you add a filter to the website so that you can see which places have "inverters/solar panels" available. I'm a cancer patient on oxygen and that's pretty important these days. Everything else was great and more!
This self-catering modern unit is situated close to the river, beautifully furnished and well maintained. The view from the top and bottom deck was lovely and made morning coffee extra special. The river is perfect for canoeing and a nice way to do birdwatching while exploring the area. The check-in process was easy and communication from the host was great. We loved our stay and would recommend it to anyone wanting a relaxing holiday.
Dominique was an excellent hostess who explained everything very well and was always available to answer questions, and everything was in its place, neat and clean. No false marketing, it was as described. My wife, children and I thoroughly enjoyed being able to call this beautiful log house our "own" for 2 nights and enjoy the tranquility in a safe environment. Will definitely book here again and can highly recommend.
Touching Touws River Lodge is a wonderful place to holiday. The house has all the necessary amenities (and more) and is also very well equipped for load shedding. The rooms are spacious, the kitchen a feast and the porch perfect for while away the days. The braai is ideal and you are still part of the company when you stand by the fire. The internet is good and Netlfix is a bonus! Pirates Creek (where Touching Ropes is located) is close to everything and the perfect place to explore the wilderness from. The view of the river feeds one's soul and it is also wonderful to sail on the boat with the canoe or to swim in the river. Children can also enjoy cycling in the complex and there is also an enclosed swimming pool. Dominique is a fantastic hostess and extremely helpful. We will definitely go back again!

A beautifully equipped and lovely lodge. We really enjoyed our stay here, and paddling up the Touws river was a great bonus to do with the canoe already available. It was a breeze staying here with load shedding - more than enough emergency lanterns, extra lights and the gas stove to cook on too. Very good attention to detail, everything is beautiful and high quality - from the bedroom to bathroom to kitchen - a lot of effort and thought must have been put in to make this place so nice. Everything 5/5 stars, except location, I could only give 4/5 - on the Touws river and beach nearby was great - the only downfall was the noise from the N2 highway running behind. Service and communication from Dominique was excellent and clear. Thanks again, Dominique!

Touching Touws has become my favourite place in the Wilderness area. The location is excellent, in close proximity to the beach and on the banks of the Touws River. The unit was clean, and has everything to make one's stay enjoyable. Including additional blankets, heaters for the colder nights and several emergency lights for the load shedding bouts. Wifi, Netflix, board games and the use of a private canoe are all a huge bonus. I highly recommend Touching Touws and will definitely return.

Was wonderful to take an early morning kayak, with Victoria Bay 10 minutes away to enjoy surfing or fishing.
The river view from the veranda and balcony is breathtaking. The house was clean and tidy and equipped with everything one needs. I would recommend this accommodation to anyone.
Close to beach, lagoon shopping center and eateries. Only thing that bothered me a bit was the noise at night from vehicles on the road (N2) that runs right behind the house.

- Once you have paid the deposit, you will receive a booking letter by e-mail that you need to sign and return to Touching Touws River Lodge.- The balance of the total amount due is payable 30 days before check-in. If the booking is done less than 30 days before check-in, the balance is payable immediately.
- Payments must be made by EFT to Touching Touws bank account. Credit Card payments are not accepted. Bank charges for foreign deposits or cash deposits will be for your account and should be added on to the amount to be paid.
- Access to the property will only be allowed against full payment and the signed booking letter.
- No smoking allowed inside the lodge.
- No pets are allowed.
- No birthday parties, bachelor or hen parties, wedding reception or any other functions are allowed.
- The property caters for family holidays only.
- Guests are to be considerate of all neighbours and keep noise levels to a minimum.
- Guests must be quiet between 22.00 and 7.00.
- Guests need to bring their own beach/swimming towels. Beach towels are not provided.
