Our stay at Tranquillity Lodge was nothing short of amazing. Our host, Bernadette is the soul of this place and she made sure we felt like we were the only ones there. The effort taken on little things, like setting the table exactly how we ended up sitting on the first night. Keeping our tab open so we could move around care free and helping us light a fire when we had nothing with us. Thinking of everything before we even did. This place was the most relaxing and Tranquil spot, no one even talking loudly. The gardener even pushed the wheelbarrow silently over the paving. Bernadette and staff all went out of their way to make our stay as peaceful as possible. I cannot wait to go back again. Highly recommend this place. Also close to lion and cheetah and hyena lodges, so you experience the proper sound of the bush at night with predators and other wild creatures. We will definitely not be able to stay away. Thank you Bernadette. You were as friendly and wonderful early morning as you were late at night. If you ever move to another lodge, please let me know so we can follow you. Heart and sole of Tranquillity lodge. One thing I appreciated was that cell phone reception was spotty. Perfect to send a WhatsApp but not enough to get bothered by electronics all weekend.

Really enjoyed our time away at Tranquillity. Sadly the property needs a bit of TLC and could do with a few upgrades on the furnishing (beds, curtains, amenities etc.) and general upkeep, but overall decent value for money. On arrival we had to wait a long time to gain access, intercom did not work. Friendly welcome by Lizzy, who is terribly busy as it seems that the management (bar and dining room and reservations) has been left to her. No Covid protocol is applied whatsoever. The cleanliness of our accommodation as well as the restaurant leaves much to be desired. There is so much potential with this place, but unfortunately the owners are not "hands on" involved. When we went to watch rugby the bar was full of people, Lizzy had to arrange food orders, drink orders and observe service where the owners only socialized with the visitors. Sorry for the negative, it's not in our nature to find fault, but have had much more pleasant experiences.
Wonderful holiday, everyone makes you feel comfortable. Sleep peacefully. Food in restaurant is very nice and prices are really fair. Lots to keep you busy. And everywhere prices are reasonable and aimed at South Africans' pockets. Definitely see me again.

Tranquility is very well located in the Dinokeng area and the place surprised us with the excellent service we received from the staff. The food was also very good and the prices were reasonable in the bar. If I have to single out one problem it is that the Kudu Chalet needs an update. A wonderful day and evening.
Nice place! We went to rest, and that's what we did. Close to JHB and yet feels like you are away from it all. Was very nice.
Place was very beautiful. And had a wonderful stay. The ladies who work there are very friendly. Can see how a nice big group can also stay there. Breakfast is at 9am which can be good or bad. It suited us very well on a Sunday afternoon. The menu is basic, but the food is very tasty. Can really recommend the Tranquility Pizza. Just be warned, there are no eating utensils such as knives, forks and plates in the rooms. Take your own, although you can borrow from the restaurant. The cell phone signal at the big gate is very weak and you can have quite a bit of trouble getting in and out. Take a Vodacom, Cell C and MTN phone and see which one works that day. Just be warned, the Jacuzzi is not kept clean and they need 24 hour notice to clean it. So a bit disappointing if you looked forward to it. The Wildways gate to Dinokeng Game Reserve is not far. I think it would also be nice of the staff to help someone who doesn't know the area with advice and road directions to Wildways' gate where you can drive yourself if you don't agree to the game drive.
Our chalet needs renovation, other chalets are very nice. The use of hot tub is too expensive.

Upon arrival, the owner Ray welcomed us, and immediately offered us a larger room that was available, at no extra charge. The location is excellent; very close to Pretoria/Johannesburg, and adjacent to the new Groot 5 Dinokeng reserve. In the evenings you hear the lions roaring from the neighboring farm. Ray and Beth, thank you for a very relaxing weekend with Lizzy and staff who are so friendly and there to serve with a smile. 1 Kudu is so private and the game is close to the fence while we have a braai. Where in the world you can sit in the bush and see an AN 2 Bi-plane land. Sit at a farm dam with your feet in the water, bear in hand and watch game drink in the watering hole 20 meters from you.
We booked in on the Saturday afternoon for the evening. We were welcomed by the owner and manger on arrival and shown to our unit, Hedgehog. Everything was neat and clean. We enjoyed our stay and will like to come back someday.

We enjoyed it immensely, the silence, the most beautiful views, caught up on much overdue sleep. We went on a game drive, it was a bit expensive for me for the time we were on the drive. It was very nice there. The staff is very friendly and helpful. All that put us off was that we could not park our car at the chalet. The manager told us they were getting ready for a wedding in October and the grass should be ready by then. We understand this 100% but was just a bit of an inconvenience.

The weekend was wonderful and just what we needed. Tobie is very hospitable and helped tremendously with explanations and recommendations of what to do. The lodge itself is not in Dinokeng Game Reserve, but it is a short distance to the gate, and we even drove around the farm itself and saw wildlife. The food is delicious and affordable, and the restaurant has a friendly and welcoming atmosphere.

It was a wonderful holiday! It offers you a break from the hustle and bustle of city life. Tommy (the lodge manager) was extremely helpful, friendly and always made sure we were happy. Lovely stay. We enjoyed every minute of it. Location is absolutely awesome and you can hear the Lions roaring at night. The MD is so helpful and lovely. The food is out of this world and reasonably priced. The breakfasts included are so yummy and the fact that it is included makes it such great value for money. The only thing would be that it must be mentioned that all cutlery and pots/pans etc. must be brought by the visitors as we were not aware, and people that are camping parked right by the jacuzzi's and the outdoor pool which made it uncomfortable for us to go swim so we did not make use of those facilities. All in all, an absolutely lovely stay! Cozy, clean and absolute value for money!

Tommie was a great host. From our advance inquiries for extra information about bird watching, the reception on arrival and the service throughout the period. All this made it our best bush weekend ever. The complimentary massage for Mother's Day was also a very pleasant surprise.

Tommy and the other staff were very hospitable and helpful. We were a large group and used their restaurant for a party. They were involved in the arrangements from start to finish and ready to help where they could. The breakfast was fantastic! The spa is definitely a great treat. The best part of the weekend was sitting around the fire and hearing the lions roar. The chalets are neat and comfortable, the kitchen provides cutlery if you ask. The bush lodge rooms need some renovation. Tranquility Spa Lodge will definitely see us again!

The resort is very peaceful and you relax wonderfully. Many thanks to Tommy and the staff who go out of their way to provide good service. Your hospitality is something special. Tommy decided of his own accord to upgrade us to a larger unit, free of charge. It was a nice surprise. The variety on the restaurant menu is limited and somewhat expensive. The breakfast is the same every day and your food bill works out expensive, because the kitchenette in the chalet was not fully equipped. The ice took a long time to freeze because the freezer door was closed. We recommend a game drive on Jakkals' buffalo vehicle.

Accommodation was quiet and nice. My three year old daughter enjoyed it thoroughly. Our room was upgraded because we stayed for four nights. It was unexpected and much appreciated. The lions in the nearby camp is unbelievable and we enjoyed the roaring sounds very much. We will definitely go again - for a day visit or overnight stay. Staff is friendly and helpful.

Positive: Very good service, very hospitable. The food was very nice. Negative: The unit was very basic - thin blankets, with no extra blankets. The bathroom and especially the shower was very basic. The only TV is in the public area. My expectation was that it would be closer to Dinokeng Nature Reserve. As a stopover it was adequate, but I would have struggled to keep the kids occupied for a whole weekend.

We wanted to relax and that is what we did. But we do like to walk and we were warned of snakes. We don't like snakes so did not walk at all. We just had a great time reading and doing nothing. OK for a once off, but could be boring on repeat visits. Ray and Beth were great to meet and talk to. The staff are wonderful.
The accommodation is clean, tidy and luxurious. However, the staff only needs to check that the unit is fully equipped. The little things that are overlooked (the hand wash soap bottle was empty and glasses were missing). However, it is kindly and quickly rectified. The spa section with the massage is a big plus as are the cooling facilities. Overall the Lodge met all our expectations and we would go back again. The owners are also personally involved, which makes it really enjoyable. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

We had a great stay and were received very hospitably. All that was missing were barbecue items such as a scraper to scrape the coals with, steak knives and a meat bowl. The hot water comes and goes when one takes a shower; it didn't bother me now in the summer, but in the winter it won't work well. Will visit the place again!

Impala B is a thatched chalet fitted with a king-size bed and a bathroom with a shower. The unit is equipped with a fridge and kettle, with braai facilities available on the outside porch. Impala B is semi-detached from Impala A and so the room can be booked and used as a double room on its own or it can be changed to lead into Impala A as a family suite.
Accommodation includes 5 thatched chalets, 3 single en-suite bush lodges, and a campsite.
For campsite guests there is a camp kitchen available on request.
The fully licensed restaurant on the farm which offers scrumptious à la carte meals, specialised coffees and a lounge area with DStv facilities, available upon request. Relax on the deck outside, looking at an amazing sunset whilst listening to the lions roaring in the background.
Facilities on site includes warm and welcoming boma which can accommodate larger groups, and has a large braai area. Guests can book at the bush spa salons under thatch or, at extra cost, enjoy the Jacuzzi’s in the open. Please note that we drain the Jacuzzi and refill it. The Jacuzzi requires at least six hours to heat up and the price is for the first hour, after that the charge is per hour. There are also 2 swimming pools available.
Activities that can be enjoyed on-site include game viewing, bird watching and game drives, or you can simply relax and read a book, or rest and sleep whilst Jackal’s call.
