Very nice will go again.
Very nice stay. Safe and affordable accommodation centrally located.
Thank you very much, it really was a "come back" stay. Everything was perfect, until the weather cooperated and it was a fantastic experience and stay.
The place was very nice and cozy. Just what we were looking for. It is also in town which makes it easy to get to everything.
The accommodation was neat and very comfortable.
Terribly cute places for a very reasonable price. Perfect for a weekend getaway place to stay.
The gate didn't work. Would recommend a fireplace inside the house.
We stayed, thank you very much.
No problem with the place and facilities, but unfortunately I had great difficulty sleeping due to the neighbors' dogs barking and making noise at each other. Unfortunately it was right by the master bedroom window.
Very pleasant! Clean and tidy! Service was great! 10 stars. Thank you!
It is a great place to stay, reasonably priced. The only issue I had is that the stove and microwave did not work, and the TV didn't get any channels. Also, the toilet system was playing up. I sent a message to the contact number, but I received no response, which I thought was very unfortunate. The problem with this was that if anything went wrong, there would have been no response, and we tried to contact the number.
Very nice place, clean and friendly service.
We only stayed one night. The accommodation met our needs and was tidy and well located.
Stay was pleasant but was left with only 1 half toilet roll for 3 days. We had a barbecue on Friday night, and the unit was not cleaned. After the third day it smelled like a boiler house with the uncleaned braai.
Yes, nice stay. The gate stood open.
Unfortunately not, the place was very neat.
Would have had a nice stay. Place is nicely located and was clean. We had 3 bathrooms, one of which had a working shower. When I called the manager and asked why we don't have hot water in the lower section, he talked to me like I was one of his children. He arrogantly asks which one we're staying in, because apparently he's 50, as if I needed to know exactly. Then said I should check at the power box if something tripped. Needles to say, I'm still looking for the power box, because there wasn't one in the house. The DSTV also did not work at all. Didn't even feel like calling again because didn't want to talk to him again. Place outside can be taken care of, grass so long.
Had a great sleep, the braai worked well. The boiler did not work, but previous tenants may not have reported this. All the pots and pans are missing, and the lid of the barbecue was gone. The shower leaks and the water runs onto the carpet if you don't dry it up soon. (It's going to cost them money if they don't look into it.) But in general, my wife and I are not screwed, so
The site looks untidy with uncut grass and cow dung everywhere. The shower in no. 9's hot water didn't work. There is no fan in the room and it was very hot.
The photos are accurate, we stayed in unit 2 and it was very dark as we had to keep all curtains closed for privacy from the road.
Not a bad stay. There was just no support. Frustration with the key and gate not working. Think if you step up your service it could be a nice place.
We had a nice stay. Clean and tidy. Thank you.
Waffle Co. 5. Duck n trout. Harries pancakes. Balgian cheese.
The accommodation unit is neatly furnished and has covered parking. However, two things that got in the way were that the shower's hot water had no pressure and secondly that there was wood provided, but no matches available.
I would also like to suggest that an extra shelf or cabinet be placed in the bathroom to put bath bags/vanity case on.
Great value for money. Great assistance from the staff. Definitely booking here again.
Cute little place. Maybe think about pinning it on Google Maps as there is more than one Treelands Abbey. Had a great sleep.
A few things that could be improved: No grill tongs for grilling meat. No pan to make breakfast with. Upstairs shower leaks into the downstairs room where our friends were sleeping. Signal from DStv was very weak so the service was not available to us.
Hi, all was great except for the shower. We had sometime no hot water or very very low pressure, otherwise all good.
Restful stay. Our host was very attentive and informative. The rooms at Treelands Abbey were comfortable and the electric blankets were an added bonus. The host opened up the empty room next door for us at no additional cost. She really went the extra mile.
Thank you, we had a great time.
It would also have been nice if our immediate neighbors didn't have a screaming child. In the future, maybe consider grouping people with children under 12 together and not grouping together an adult group. The screaming was bitterly disturbing and non-stop.
The house is nicely furnished for a large family. All three rooms have their own bathrooms. We used the indoor braai as a fireplace, because we didn't expect it to be so cold in Dullstroom.
Very nice, cozy and beautiful place. Hot water is only slightly of a problem in that cold area.
The shower was not working. Electric blanket only on one side of the bed. No wood for the fire as advertised. The bedside lamp was not working.
It was just a stopover from Hazyview for the night and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, everything was there, they even provided us with wood. Will certainly stay here on our next stopover.
In room two there is a short circuit in the braai from the light or switch in the built-in braai, it is very unsafe.
The accommodation was excellent, and clearly recently upgraded. Just a pity that, although a password for internet was provided, we could not make a connection. The location is very good. Dullstroom was delicious.
Treelands Abbey is a beautiful place, did mention a few problems to the owner but overall the place was nice and clean and close to town. We will definitely go back there again.
The accommodation has been changed from Treelands Abbey to Treelands Manor without notice. The roll-up blind in front of the door's glass panel was down. The cleaner said it was in the cupboard which meant people could look into the accommodation from outside (no privacy). Tried to put the blind back on the roller but without success. I later duct taped it to make it work. There was a lot of dust on the furniture and also ants by and on the bed which I was able to control with a can of Doom. There were also stains on the fitted sheet over the mattress. The place definitely needs a good spring clean. Apart from the friendly people where we went to collect the key, the only contact we had was with the cleaner when we tried to fix the roller blind. Apart from the mentioned problems, the place was comfortable with everything needed. Definitely will not book or recommend the place again.
Have a good time in Dullstroom. Can definitely recommend. The barbecue equipment needs attention.
Everything that was needed is available. However, I would set the entrance gate to automatically close to a late one. I went out three times that night to close the gate behind people. The two plate stove didn't work but we worked around it. The "downlighters" must be pushed back into their sockets.
The towels were not sufficient.
The unit needs maintenance. The fridge did not work very well. The door handle felt loose as if it was going to fall off. The microwave button was stick. . The unit was lovely, however needs maintenance.
We got lost and the emergency number provided did not answer at all. Then got hold of the owner but he was of no help. All he says is what's on your key? Post that he just says that there is another Treelands accommodation and we may be at the wrong one. Both are very close to each other. Why would people name their businesses the same? Anyway, he is arrogant and pretending we are stupid. We would never have thought that there was a second place with the same name and also happened to have four units. Then struggle on our own because there is a road map on the paper when you get the key. Unfortunately, most streets in that area do not have name signs. Half an hour later we finally find the place. I would have appreciated if the owner had at least just asked where we were and tried to explain how to get to his place. Then it would feel like he was trying to help us as we, as a family, are lost at 11:00 PM in the evening looking for his place with a road map, in the pitch dark, with streets without names. And if it was a case of life and death, we would probably be dead because the emergency number is too useless if no one answers!
The accommodation is very close to the main street of Dullstroom so you can leave all your belongings safely in the room and walk through the streets. For the cost of the room, there was a bit more expectation to be more luxurious or at least have cleaning services. The room is comfortable for 2 nights at most.
Please notify future customers that the designated key pick-up point is different on a Sunday. Take note - No working Wi-Fi is available.
It was sufficient, the bed was fine, the couch was very uncomfortable. The place is very dark inside and it generally needs a bit of a facelift.
There was no soap, coffee, sugar, tea etc and when travelling and staying over for a night you dont want to have to buy this for 1 night. The shower did not work and there was no hot water. The kitchen area was really basic to unfriendly. It was way over priced for what was offered. The biggest benefit was proximity to town.
Although the chalet was neat and modern, there was no provision made for loadshedding. We were only provided with 1 candle. No loadshedding schedule was provided on key pick up or warning that this facility did not have any backup for said loadshedding. No Wi-Fi during loadshedding. (Perhaps a UPS) and no hot water!
Sofa to watch TV. Bench's legs were broken and bench was cooked.
Unit 2's shower leaks a lot onto the floor. The stove has no numbers to set. The couch in front of the TV is uncomfortable and no one comes to take the ashes out of the braai. Other than that, everything was very nice.
The cabin could use a thorough cleaning, especially the bathroom. The water pressure is very low when you shower. Door between my cabin and my neighbours' cabin I wouldn't have booked, because you can hear each other's conversations.
Maybe it was just our unit, there were quite a few things that made it unpleasant and then the service also fell a bit short.
Dogs from the house across the road barking constantly. The unit has holes in the wall, mirror's frame is broken. Lots of ambient noise, especially dogs barking constantly, people talking in the street in the early hours of the morning. Safety is questionable. Berg was on fire and no one could tell if we should evacuate or not.
We got there and the gate wouldn’t close, the place looks a bit run down, to be honest. After receiving help with the gate we had to constantly drive up and down to ensure both gates were closed (as this is a safety hazard), honestly didn't feel safe to begin with. The Wi-Fi was non-existent (we had to work so this was a problem) and free Wi-Fi was advertised. If I can also just make a recommendation that they have some sort of fan/cooling system, it is a wood house, it was hot. Add mosquitoes to that... Booking agencies said it’s fully booked but we were the only people there. We decided to look for another place to sleep and ended up spending money we weren’t planning to spend. In all honesty, I think their price is a bit high for what you get. I know this is not your fault, but we ended up leaving Dullstroom a day earlier. This spoiled the whole trip for us!
Good service and beautiful accommodation.
Had a great stay and enjoyed the weekend.
Luckily there was a built-in braai in the apartment with wood that we could use to get the room warmer!
A nice place, private, and everything one needs. Will stay there again. Cute little house, very cutely furnished, decent braai area and porch. No fireplace in the log house but there is a heater. No air conditioning.
Quiet location, everything was tidy with all the necessary facilities.
The place was perfectly located and great for my fur babies. The Wi-Fi quality was poor.
Restaurants great in Dullstroom.
Very good for a night's sleepover to your next destination.
Place was very tidy and the most necessary was available. It was very cold and wet and foggy when we were there. Suggestion: couch in TV room so that more than 2 can watch TV and loose carpet for a little more heat when it's cold.
It was an instant booking and well worth it. Would just maybe recommend putting a fan in the room as an option for the warm evenings.
Everything that was needed, except dish towels. Could have just given a hand soap.
The house was clean and in a very central location. The bed was very comfortable and the area felt safe. Would have just preferred if the shower head was slightly bigger, the stream it made was quite small. The side lamp on the right-hand side of the bed was not working. When we got to the gate after picking up the keys, the remote wasn't working and we couldn’t get hold of the manager of the properties and then had to go back to the place where we got the keys to get another one, which was a little frustrating.
Unit is spacious and ideal for a weekend getaway. Unit does need some work, such as front door lock, upstairs bathroom sink, peeling paint, no light bulbs in bedroom bedside lights, as well as kitchen light bulbs not being replaced. There are also no soft drink or wine glasses available.
There is definitely room for improvement in the unit. It needs a better two plate stove and also a small dressing table in the room with mirror. There are also not enough wall plugs.
However, after eventually being patiently guided through the phone, we arrived to a pleasant place in a quiet part of town yet closer to all amenities. I suggest that the street names on the pamphlets should be updated to the current street names to avoid confusion.
They advised we would receive our first bag of wood to get going, no wood on arrival. Sent multiple Whatsapp messages after being told it would be delivered, eventually just gave up and bought our own. For the price of the unit per night, a sachet of coffee would have been appreciated (stayed in much cheaper places in Dullstroom and they provided coffee, a chocolate and a small bottle of water).
A few days before we left for Dullstroom I sent an email to the owner. It was never answered. Calls to the owner were blocked. We searched for the house for 45 min. There was only one wall plug in each room that worked, and of the two bedside lamps in each room, only one had a bulb in it. The toilets in the two upstairs bathrooms were both leaking. The one bathroom light kept flickering. The unit only has 1 door to the outside, and we struggled to lock and unlock the door and security gate. Isn't it a safety risk, if one has to get out quickly? Apparently there is a pumping system that pumps water to the house. The morning we left there was load shedding, and then no water in the unit either. Unfortunately we then had to leave the bathrooms dirty.
Owner was very friendly. Only unfortunately the WiFi didn't work at all. The indoor braai was shocking when you braai, the whole unit (braai) was alive. Owner made an effort to come and see. Everything is quite expensive in Dullstroom to do something probably because of tourists.
Unit 7 toilet seat was loose. I did report it, but no one came to fix it. Wi-Fi did not work. Bed lamp table next to bed to low for the high bed. One side of bed the lamp did not have plugs, so could not use it. Fan above the shower seems to be loose. Some mould on tiles above the toilet. Blinds need some repair and new blinds at kitchen window and entrance door for more privacy. Suggestion for the ramp to unit 7 to add non-slip strips, especially when it is raining.
If you plan to just rest and fly fishing while taking a weekend away from the busy life and everyday noise I would not recommend the place.
On arrival at 2 o'clock, the keys were not available we then went back at 3 and still no keys. We were told we must just wait somewhere they will call us. We went to a restaurant waiting. They then called and said they were willing to bring the keys to us. The owner's wife brought the keys and said she can't find the right keys or the owner. She then told us the owner is missing because he had too much wine. She then gave us a key for unit one at a different location and said she hoped the place is clean. If it's not it's just too bad. We went to the location and were not happy at all. It wasn't what we booked. I then phoned the owner. In conversation, he was under the influence and he told me a must just relax and have a glass of wine. I then try to phone him a couple of times and send him messages, no reply. For the safety of me and my son we paid and moved to a different location. I have asked for a refund. No response whatsoever from the owner.
We really enjoyed it and will come back again.
Lovely, close to town.
We are a family of 3 (11yr old son) and were very happy with the cleanliness and location of Treeland Abbey which is a 2 minute walk from the main road. Very comfortable king-size bed with down duvet and electric blankets on both king and bunk beds. Had everything we needed plus Wi-Fi and DStv to keep everyone happy. The only thing that my hubby didn't like was the two office-ish round chairs in the lounge - could do with a small couch rather but I know space is an option.
The unit was very comfortable and had everything we needed. We enjoyed our stay tremendously.
Had a wonderful mother-daughter weekend with my 10-year-old twin girls! Although it was freezing cold and rainy, we had a great time browsing the shops and drinking coffee and hot chocolate everywhere. Our weekend ended with a facial and back massage at Dunkeld spa.
TV room light does not work and lacks a curtain for privacy while watching TV.
The unit is neat and comfortable.
Toe ek daar kom, was my akkommodasieplek nog nie skoon nie, maar daar is dadelik vir my ander slaapplek gereël wat so awesome was, ek het baie veilig gevoel as enkeling. Die akkommodasie was asemrowend en ek sal enige tyd weer daar gaan bly en dit aanbeveel.
They need to look at the indoor braai, there is an electrical fault with the light inside the braai, it shocked my wife!
Quiet area, very close to shops and restaurants. We had a great time and had everything we needed. Lovely warm bedding and shower. The wooden houses create a nice atmosphere. Everything was clean and tidy. Would recommend that a map is already sent with the bookings e-mail, seeing that Google maps does not work well in the case. It is especially difficult to find in the dark, seeing that Dullstroom does not have street lights. My friend couldn't get hold of Michelle at all when he was struggling with the gate. City people do not expect and feel a little unsafe with a sliding gate and combination lock.
The front door could not close easily and if you pull hard the door opens, even if the lock is closed. So for all practical purposes could not lock the front door and felt unsafe.
Good concept and nice space. Short more maintenance. Been without WiFi. Many lights out, cold tap in bathroom not working, door handle loose and problem with braai.
Everything was very nice, very beautiful and neat. The owner just doesn't get back to you when you ask about the WiFi as advertised. The WhatsApp she said "Oh gits, I'll find out soon" nothing else. We love Dullstroom!. Will come to the village again. They can only watch Treelands Abbey on their WiFi.
We unfortunately had several issues with our accommodation which resulted in an early check-out and refund of Saterday nights stay. Thanks for your prompt customer service and support.
Booked at Treelands Abbey as one of our members needed WiFi for work on the trip. Arriving at the cottage it was discovered that there was no working WiFi. Furthermore the main lounge light and patio light was not working. Luckily we had torches with us otherwise we would've spent the night in darkness. When speaking to the manager whose number we were given, we were told on multiple occasions 'small town problems' and 'what can you do on a Saturday night'. WiFi problem was never dealt and I was promised that the manager would get back to me in the next 10 minutes regarding lights - I am still waiting! Overall the house was nice and location great but won't come back due to customer support and the fact that amenities that were promised were non existent.
Hole in wall behind bed. Wires sticking out of hole. Could hear neighbours. Ran out of hot water for shower. Used fireplace and everything smells of smoke the next day. Both plugs next to the bed tripped.
Disappointing in that we did not receive any value for our money back. The place is neglected and not really clean. Getting in and out of the gate is a problem - no remote control - only a lock coded with numbers - in the dark a big problem and unsafe. The bed was satisfactory but the rest too basic for what we paid. No table on the porch - only upright, uncomfortable plastic stools. The bathroom facilities are pathetic. Shower sprays 5 jets of water, all in different directions. Difficult to apply makeup, no rack or hooks for towels. Excess storage space, but insufficient relaxation facilities - two upright uncomfortable chairs in the living area where you can hardly swing a cat. A free standing plastic framed mirror that needs to be propped up for blow drying etc. I will never book there again and strongly advise against it for prospective visitors.
Lovely cozy place. The owner was very helpful in changing our reservation, he spared no effort, and we really appreciate that. The warm bed was the best! We will definitely stay there again!
Very good.
Great stay, walking distance from all the nice places Dullstroom offers.
The arrangements for picking up the keys should be clearly communicated in advance and the card should be printed larger.
Will definitely see us again.
Very cute place, had everything we needed. Nice sitting on the stoep in the evening and braai with a nice view. Bed and bedding are amazing. Weather cooperated nicely, at least a fan was not lacking. Overall very happy.
Nice place to stay. Only things missing are a fan nor aircon in the room during hot days, and a table and chairs in the pretty garden.
See stars.
Beautiful trees and garden.
Uncertainty about where to pick up keys. No Covid screening at accommodation. Minimum stock of coffee stuff. Not enough for 3 people. Loft very uncomfortable. No light, only light from room under loft. Can't stand up straight in the loft. Good enough for kids; definitely not for two adults! Minimal toilet paper; had to provide my own. Nice garden.
Was a door to room/apartment next door and could hear everything like child screaming. DStv only channel 100. Warm blanket not really warm. Tried calling managers but no answer. Rate very high for what one gets and that was with 25% discount. Was very disappointed.
Please look to the chimney outlet of all the units. Smoke billows through the roof. Sofa in unit was broken, needs repair. The place was very neat and the stay was wonderful.
Water pressure just a little too low. Otherwise no problem. Was a lovely time. Will definitely be back!
Nothing in particular that stands out but a good place that I would use again. Gives a sense of security and a good service experience.
Very nice stay. The unit we stayed in needs maintenance. Well located.
