We were received kindly and immediately felt welcome. Treklaer's layout is such that accommodation options are adaptable according to guests' needs. Treklaer is neat and very modern.
We had a very nice stay. The enclosed porch was a bonus and we were able to use it despite the rain and storm. The apartment was neat and the kitchen was well equipped. We could watch all our programs on DSTV. Even though we couldn't get the doors locked, we didn't feel unsafe because we could lock the security gate in front of the apartment. Access to the complex is well controlled with cameras and security gate.
Only stayed 1 night, is well located & is very basic, but everything you need & a view. Just have to look at their lights - 2 that don't work in bedroom.
Everything was very neat and clean. Vehicle was safe behind gate from which you get a remote control. Nice fresh bedding. Quiet environment. There was even braai wood available that we could use, as well as laundry facilities if you wanted to wash your laundry. We could sleep peacefully and walk to the waterfront, it's not too far.

Yes, we had a nice stay, all that bothered us was the safety of our car - had to park outside on the pavement - consequently had to unload everything in the car. Staff must also learn to knock before entering the room.
Only complaint I have is that there was no full length mirror in our room, very inconvenient if you want to groom and dry your hair.
My stay was not as good as I thought because what we saw in the pictures was not what we got. Therefore, our stay was not good at all, and as a result, we checked out before our check-out date.

We had a wonderful stay at Treklaer Lodge, well situated, close walking distance to the shops and beach. Loved the light and bright interior - very clean and tidy. Everything you need. The accommodation is very neat and clean and the parking is also safe but we stayed in the unit which has 2 rooms and had to share the kitchen and living room. It will work great if you are staying there with family or friends and not if you want to have a holiday on your own because then you have to share with strangers.
But we were six people and only one bathroom. I was not impressed.
While it was cleanly and comfortable enough, it seemed clear from the outset that we were not expected despite our advanced booking. The bedroom cupboards were cabletied shut which made it seem as if we were staying unexpectedly in someone else's room in a family home. The pictures online were misleading as areas that looked to be included were communal such as the TV area and kitchenette. Being so close to a functioning family home was somewhat uncomfortable and awkward. Not quite what we expected.
Johan and his wife were very helpful and friendly. Even lent us camping chairs to use at our daughter's sports.
Treklaer Lodge will be my only choice in the Mossel Bay-Knysna area every time. Really an awesome place.

I was informed the afternoon before we had to drive that there was an accidental double booking and that alternative accommodation would be considered. This is after my reservation was already confirmed the day before and everything was already paid. Unnecessary stress the afternoon before we leave. After a scramble and a few calls back and forth, the matter was rectified. After our long drive we arrived in Hartenbos, but no one was available at the lodge or by phone to receive us. My family had to sit in the car for over an hour while we called around. One would expect that there would always be someone available. The visit was very nice and the unit was spacious and tidy.
Fantastic braai facilities and all amenities are available. The ablution facilities are neat. We are definitely looking forward to our next visit! The fact that we didn't have to take towels or bedding with us, and that there was a fully equipped kitchen, saved us a lot of storage space. It really is a home from home! Thank you for your hospitality.

We stayed at the Treklaer lodge. The cottage is clean, neat and has everything needed. Lovely living area with indoor braai is a plus. Close to the Hartenbos theme park with shops etc. Thank you very much for having a great time!
I would definitely recommend Treklaer Lodge for any getaway. It's so central. Close to literally everything, malls, beach, etc. We will definitely visit them again. The only recommendation I would make to the owners is to perhaps add facilities so that our vacationers can do their own laundry. Perhaps a central washing machine that can be used by everyone who visits. The laundries in Hartenbos are incredibly expensive and busy. This was really the only shortcoming for me. Furthermore, it was an incredibly nice holiday and stay.

Johan and Igna had been very friendly. The apartment was clean and very tidy. We were able to park our car and were walking distance from everything. Johan had been very patient with us regarding the TV.
Johan made us feel very welcome even though we arrived very late due to heavy traffic from the Cape. We really felt at home and would recommend Treklaer to anyone. Alvin the Spaniel entertained the children a lot which was a plus for us. Everything was neat and great. It was like our home away from home. Thank you Johan! The owners are friendly and respect privacy. The apartment has everything you need and the fact that our dog could visit together made it that much more special. It is quite close to the beach and very central to the town, we will definitely want to visit again!
Our stay was wonderful. The WiFi is not working but apparently they are working on it so we trust it will be fixed soon. The barbecue in our apartment also smoked a little inside, but we worked around it. We had a guest, the cute dog of the owners. At least it made us want our own animals at home less. We will definitely stay there again.
Great visit and very friendly owners. Cottage is also very private. We would however suggest a very good spring clean (bathroom corners and above lights etc) and general maintenance practice, but that would not stop us from staying there again.

Treklaer Lodge is a pleasant residence equipped with everything you need for a holiday. It is within walking distance of ATKV amusement park and the beach area. It is a quiet and peaceful area and the secure parking area at the residence ensured peace of mind. The owners of the lodge were friendly and helpful and I would recommend staying here to my friends and family anytime.

The accommodation is very neat with everything you need for you and your family. The living area and the kitchen are spacious and stylishly decorated. I would, however, book another unit next time, just to be able to see the sea.

Wood was supplied for free and the owners were so friendly, everything you need in the apartment and the most beautiful sea view of Hartenbos, we enjoyed the 3 nights so much! Walking distance from everything and vry clena and tidy. You will see us again next year, 3 double beds (2 collapsable) so enough places to sleep and a large TV with full DStv.
The lodge has a great sea view and closer to entertainment area which makes it amazing.
Was well received and the unit is nicely laid out. The privacy the unit offers speaks volumes and I can recommend it to anyone. The unit has everything you need - and you really only need to bring yourself, food and towels. The rest is there for your convenience. And the owner... Well I almost want to say that I met a new friend.
We rented both units. The fact that both units have indoor braai's was a big plus as the weather wasn't great this week. The upper unit had a power problem. Discussed it with the owners and they are going to attend to it. The WiFi didn't want to work for us. Regarding the cleanliness, there were aspects that could be improved. The owners are very friendly, hospitable people.
