Bahati is an elevated, upmarket timber tree lodge with its own glass-encased live tree growing through the en-suite bedroom which boasts an extra-length double bed, a spa-bath and tree view shower. The bedroom leads out into an open-plan sitting room with a fireplace and a fully equipped kitchen, which in turn leads through a large sliding door onto a full-length deck with an awesome view and gas braai. The lower en-suite bedroom comprises 2 single beds, a sitting area and an enormous walk-in, plate-glass shower showing off the picture-perfect Drakensberg beyond. This is all topped off with a large open braai, a fire pit area and a superb rock swimming pool a few steps away.

The mezzanine bedroom contains a double bed and 2 single beds and has its own mountain-facing alcove. The room is serviced by a downstairs bathroom with a shower only. Being a garden cottage within reasonable proximity to the main residence its niche market is its security enhanced by the tranquillity and sheer beauty of its setting. Both Bahati and Bergvlei are equipped with electric blankets and have fireplaces for keeping the cold out in winter, as well as decks and outside braai areas to enjoy during the warmer months. The hosts were so welcoming, we felt right at home. We took our 4-year-old with and he loved the venue, especially the dam and the deck overlooking the dam. It had everything we needed, honestly, there is nothing I can fault. It was a lovely 5-day stay and we will definitely be back.
This was a short stay with friends for 2 nights as part of a short stopover while on our way north from Durban. The host was very helpful, friendly and welcoming, showing us around the facilities and how to get the most out of our stay. Some very nice hikes and walks straight from the house, and other things to see were just a short car drive away. A tree house that has great character and spectacular views right on your balcony (or from your shower!).
The log house is very cold and we were there at a cold time. Fortunately, heaters and electric blankets were provided. It is a central location for visiting places in the area and the view is breathtakingly beautiful. Chris and his wife are very friendly and helpful.
I will definitely recommend the place to other people. I loved the tree house.

Breakaway oasis - definitely recommended.
This was our second time there and will definitely be back for a third time. Would really like to experience it next winter. It is absolutely a resting place. The view is better than other luxury 5 star lodges. Can't wait until next time.

Treks, Trips & Trails was die perfekte plek om ons vakansie van 26 dae, 2600 km en 9 verskillende verblyfopsies op 'n hoogtepunt af te sluit! Wat 'n fantastiese plek, hoog tussen die bome met 'n asemrowende uitsig oor die groen gras wat afrol tot in die dam. Ek kon nie genoeg kry van die verrassing wat om elke hoekie gewag het in die "boomhuis" nie. Die fynste detail van uitsigte is haarfyn beplan en gee aan die plek sy uniekheid. Daar skiet niks tekort in hierdie plekkie nie en die eienares het uit haar pad gegaan om ons welkom te laat voel. Daar was ekstras soos koffie, suiker, melk in die yskas en muskietspuitgoed beskikbaar wat jou tuis laat voel. Home away from home. Ons gaan verseker weer hier bly!
Worth every cent. Words can't describe how beautiful it is and the concept of the tree house is amazing. The dogs are very cute and friendly. You can really relax there. We will definitely go again soon.

We had a nice stay for 6 days, you have to drive out from the farm to experience the mountains, such as hiking trails and places of interest. The Falkon Ridge is fantastic and must definitely be visited. Very educational and a real experience!
The unique wooden treehouse is very well equipped and conveniently close to many shops, eateries and tourist activities. It's difficult in inclement weather, because the second sleeping area and bathroom are not directly or covered accessible from the main living areas of the house. Not suitable for families with children under 12 years. Beautiful trees all around the house and visible from every window. Owners very helpful and excellent knowledge of area. Wooden deck with braai area that offers views of the lovely valley and mountain peaks.
The house was very nice and well equipped. The farm is very beautiful and the view over the dam and mountains beautiful! However, it was right next door to the owner and other guest houses and it was not as advertised. The owner also has dogs which were quite troublesome which I didn't think of at first. They were in and out of the house all the time begging for food and never wanted to go to their own house. They chewed holes in the carpet in the living room and moved around the house. It was incredibly nice to have a cleaner every day who could wash up and tidy up nicely. Would have fitted a light to the braai if I was the owner and maybe provided wood every day but not really anything to complain about.
A really great place to stay as a family or couple. Very quiet and near to all attractions. Great owners who pamper you and cater to all your needs.

Desayunar en la terraza fue ideal para empezar bien los días. Todas las instalaciones funcionaban con normalidad. The complete kitchen for organizing dinners. It's already the 2nd year that we stay there in the winter. Very quiet, comfortable and beautiful view.
A great welcome! The tree house was absolutely lovely, well equipped, and sported breathtaking views! A great place for those seeking a romantic getaway, or much needed piece and quiet, although neighbours had small barking dogs running rampant which disrupted the silence severely on the last day, and chased away any wildlife or bird attempting to come close, which was unfortunate. It should perhaps be considered that they disallow pets. The fireplace really warmed up the chilly nights. Some upgrades are however needed, regarding the comfort of the bed and seating in the lounge area.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Bergview Cottage. Everything was clean and neat and the cottage adequately equipped. Chris and Magda went out of their way to accommodate us, including putting an extra bed upstairs! The farm is a little off the beaten track, but close enough to activities offered in the area. We had a lovely, relaxing stay and we hope to be able to return.

We really enjoyed Treks, Trips & Trails - it was wonderfully quiet and there was the most beautiful view. I would definitely recommend it as well as stay there again. Our children really enjoyed the pool.
