Tsitsikamma Wolf Sanctuary
Tsitsikamma Wolf Sanctuary
Tsitsikamma Wolf Sanctuary
-
If you're looking for a cozy, luxury escape, THIS IS NOT IT! If you crave an authentic, off-the-grid experience where nature calls the shots, welcome!
Our sanctuary is a working farm and a registered non-profit organization, open to the public 7 days a week (except Christmas & NY). Staying with us helps support our mission to care for wolves that have fallen victim to the exotic pet trade in SA. You may encounter our staff and volunteers during the day, busy with daily duties to ensure the well-being of the wolves. You’ll also meet other animal residents, including chickens, cats, and a lively cockerel. They are part of our sanctuary family, and while we love them, they can be a bit noisy at times.
The lush, green beauty of Tsitsikamma is owed to its frequent rainfall. Our rustic accommodations aren’t insulated, so expect to be challenged by the rain and wind on occasion. We do our best to make it warm and comfortable, but weather here is wild and unpredictable. If you’re ready to tune into your adventurous side and live among the wolves, this experience is for you. However, if you prefer luxury amenities and staying dry at all times, we won’t be offended if you choose another option.
Rustic Wooden Cabins
-2 Cabins Available: Each with a comfortable double bed, including bedding and towels.
-Bathroom: The two cabins are separated by a shared bathroom cabin (bath only). If you book just one cabin, the other will be blocked off, giving you a private bathroom—except during peak season (Easter and December holidays), when both cabins may be in use. A gas geyser ensures hot water.
-Additional Shower: There’s an option to use the campsite’s hot shower, shared with volunteers and other guests.
-Bush Kitchen: A self-catering, free-standing kitchen equipped with a fridge-freezer, gas stove, and all the basic cutlery and crockery you’ll need. This kitchen may be shared during busy times.
-Outdoor Cooking: Enjoy the communal braai area and fire pit, perfect for a summer evening under the stars.
-Communal Space Note: The area outside the cabins serves as a visitor waiting area from 09h00 to 16h00. After that, it becomes your private sanctuary.
Teepees x2: Choose between a King room or Twin room.
Off-Grid Living: There are no electrical outlets in the teepees. We provide rechargeable solar lights for indoor and outdoor use.
Communal Facilities: Includes a bathroom (with shower and toilet), a bush kitchen (gas stove only, no fridge), a fire pit, and a braai area.
Eco-Conscious Living: Powered entirely by solar energy, so please be mindful of electricity usage to ensure everyone enjoys their stay. This isn’t luxury glamping with all the modern comforts—it’s raw, off-grid living.
