Tuinhuis lives up to its name. (A) It was situated in a beautiful garden on a smallholding. This garden was magnificently laid out and studded with flowering plants for all seasons. (B) It was not just a room, it was a house in itself. A large, spacious room with a corner for each: kitchen, dining room, bedroom, and living room, and an ensuite bathroom, which was also large. If it had been colder, we would have burnt wood in the fireplace. However, it was cosy without. Everything was there, and when we needed a coffee plunger, that was also provided by the host. We had an excellent long birthday weekend.
It was a lovely getaway weekend. Everything is very beautiful and peaceful. We were able to relax in the beautiful nature and were warmly received by the host/wife, as well as the pets. We will definitely do it again.

The garden house is absolutely a stunning place where you can just sit and take in nature, it's outside the town so if you don't like places that are busy around you I would recommend the garden house.

This is perfect for a family, we went for my husband's birthday weekend, our toddler absolutely loved the labradors, we even gave them our own names, Whiskey, Brandy and Jack. They're super friendly and playful. The house is a perfect open plan, I can be in the kitchen and watch my daughter play. We braaied outside and in the evenings we lit the fireplace, all in all, 10/10 from us!

An "all in one". From the sleeping place, indoor braai, kitchen and the tidy bathroom. Shower facilities fantastic. Neat garden. 3 x Labrador dogs (who were our animals for the weekend - very well behaved). Can't think of better and definitely recommended.
We were in a situation and needed a physiotherapist and the owner was able to refer us and we got sorted right away. Rikie also asked us every now and then how my son was doing. The animals and the miniature ponies were so beautiful and tame. Visited us every night.

The apartment is very neat, but gets very cold at night. We had a nice stay.
No cleaning service, change of bedding, floors, towels etc. No running water in taps when loadshedding. No television unit. WiFi that is available is very on and off. Photos on your ad do not match what we experienced.
The garden house is a wonderful little house on a beautiful plot. It is calm, and has a nice farm atmosphere. It is within driving distance of Franschhoek, Stellenboch and Paarl. Definitely a winner for a nice holiday with family and friends.

We felt very at home with a very friendly reception in our own language by Riki, and we were surprised with the spaciousness and accessories in the unit. There was even an indoor braai, braai accessories, wine glasses and a bottle opener rarely found in self-catering units that are not familiar with our South African culture of braai and good Cape wine. Everything one could possibly need was available, security was sufficient, we had our own alarm remote control at our disposal and even the dogs on the yard further contributed to the general feeling of safety and homeliness. Upon arrival I was very kindly welcomed. I like the whole idea of being in the middle of nowhere and nowhere. I was looking for a place to rest after my long day of work and this is what I got without a doubt. Thank you very much.
Wonderful farm atmosphere, tranquil and very friendly service. Well furnished, spacious and I enjoyed it when the puppies came to visit. Very good value for money, can strongly recommend it for a get away.
I really enjoyed being Martha's guest! She spoils you with delicious rusks, as well as a proper Garies friendliness! It is nice and quiet, yet very close to Paarl and Cape Town. Shops in Klapmuts are just around the corner. I will really recommend it to an individual, as well as a whole family!

You can see that both a man and woman provide their insights with the putting together of the living unit. We immediately felt at home and could relax for 4 days and explore the area. Hospitality was top notch. Ockert and Christa, thanks for everything you did for us.

The apartment is a large room surrounded by windows, so it's quite cold in winter. There is a fireplace/braai in the one corner with enough wood. One of the single twin beds is a tad short for a teenager. Only equipped with microwave, no stove. Spacious, modern bathroom. The host went out of her way to make sure everything was fine.
It is well located and within reach of N1, just 5 minutes. Many attractions in the vicinity.
Owners were not even aware of our booking. Parking about 30 m from the entrance on the other side of the building. Unsafe, no burglar bars. Power failure at about 20:00, never came on again. We didn't sleep well as there were constant hitting and scraping on the roof. We got up at 6 the next morning to get ready to leave. Couldn't prepare anything to eat or make coffee or shower as only 2 candles were available. We had to pack in the dark as the power was still off and left at 6:30. Don't think we'll make use of this facility again.

1. Arrival: We were welcomed not as strangers, but as family. The house was neat and clean with the fans already switched on to make the room a bit cooler on a swelteringly hot day. 2. The kitchen: The fridge had been filled with milk, ice and water. A big bowl with home-made rusks, and all the coffee, tea, rooibos tea and sugar we could need for our stay, was provided. The kitchen part was well equipped. There was even insect poison! Even though there is no stove, we found that the electric pan and microwave was more than sufficient. 3. The living and sleeping areas: Unique architechture with eclectic furniture. A mixture of modern pieces, family artefacts and Swedish wooden furniture. The coloured cement floor helped a lot during the heat wave. 4. Bathroom: Modern and very spacious. Fully equipped with user items. 5. For dog lovers it was nice to be visited by six dogs - not all at once though. The presence of the dogs ensured a feeling of safety. We even went to bed one night without closing the door, nevermind locking it! 6. The owners and staff on the farm were friendly and helpful. The owner even filled the cement pool so that we, two city slickers, could have a swim! What an experience! Summary: It was the perfect weekend for us, a good base from which we could explore Cape Town, Stellenbosch, Franschhoek and Paarl. I really hope we get the chance to stay at Tannie Martha's place again.

Nice place, but the owner needs to fumigate the place more often for the flies, bugs and spiders all around.
