My stay was great and the service was perfect.
Not as nice as last time. The overnight room is very exposed to the entrance of the premises, which was operated by fellow guests who do not consider their fellow guests, such as starting their diesel vehicle's engine very early in the morning and then letting it idle for 20 minutes without anyone in sight.

Tula is a beautiful place. Unfortunately, the following bothered: Kitchen and bathroom are beautifully clean, but interior doors are dirty and the paintwork is very untidy. There is no top sheet, so you have to sleep under a quilt, the hygiene of which I question. Screws hang out through handles. Plugs "tripped" during the evening, so there was no coffee when getting up. Johan was a great host and solved the problem in time.
Bad we arrived early we were told to come back at 2 we asked for 30 minutes late extension since we over slept the plugs were switched off.
Facility requires maintenance repairs and bedding. Suggest a review visit before recommending.

We just stopped over on our way to Mossel Bay and this was the perfect place to do it. Relatively cheap compared to other guesthouses, but definitely at the same and higher standard than many other more expensive guesthouses. I will definitely stay here again in the future. The host is very friendly and helpful. There is really nothing I can complain about. I will definitely recommend Tula 159 to my friends who are looking for a place to stay in Bloemfontein in the future.

Easy to get. Close to amenities. My grandchildren wanted to stay longer. The WiFi was fantastic.
We had a very nice stay. The unit was clean and tidy and was serviced every day. The air conditioner does not work and the roof fan is not quite adequate in the summer. The small fridge only stands on 3 legs and falls forward when the door is opened and thus items can fall out of the fridge and break/spill. The noise from the traffic in the street can get quite bad, but this is understandable from the address of Tula 159.

Parking is tight and can be problematic if parking is full and you want to drive very early in the morning without disturbing others. The unit we (3 adults) stayed in met all our expectations.

We slept over in the budget apartment. It's well furnished and tidy. Perhaps would not have slept there if we had known in advance that it was directly next to a large and busy street. For the price, one would expect at least a bar of soap as well. Im Allgemein had a nice stay and slept.
The kitchen tap wasn't great.
Very tidy, garden well cared for and full of trees. Mattress on bed too soft which we are not used to and too much light shining from outside through curtains it was difficult for us to sleep properly. I sleep very lightly and the geyser outside on the roof that boils every now and then was also a disturbance. In short, it caused me to not rest properly. Toilet needs to be helped so water doesn't flush all the time and dustbin's lid was broken. Rain resulted in us not being able to eat at the outside table/bench, there are no additional facilities inside for that purpose. Men find it uncomfortable to eat on their lap. Car is parked far from unit and also contributes to unease about your vehicle's safety, despite cameras and electric fence.
Location of guest house at the current stage not really recommendable if one wants to move around quietly in the evening. Since the guest house is surrounded by student houses, there is so much noise on weekends that one can hardly sleep. Student house with noise next to and all around guest house.
The place was not very clean and ants were a problem. The shower head no longer sprays well either.
The guy kept on speaking Afrikaans even when I told him I don't speak Afrikaans. When I told him there were ants all over the room he asked me if I wanted my money back, mind you it was in the middle of the night.

The maintenance, cleanliness and beauty of the areas where we stayed need urgent attention. The walls are peeling off, the bedside lamp is broken, I literally had to wipe cobwebs off the windows.

Tula was a one-night stopover on the way back from the sea. So we just needed basic accommodation - Tula met all expectations. (We've had our belts tight at previous places where we just wanted to sleep over quickly!) Everything was clean and tidy, with all the necessary facilities. The beautiful garden and swimming pool are a welcome escape after a day on the road. Johann was also very quick to respond to messages before our arrival, and very helpful during our stay.

For sure one of the best guesthouses we have stayed. Fantastically furnished with a large play area for children and a nice lawn with more than enough seating and coolness to enjoy the outdoors. Definitely from now on our preferred option for accommodation in Bloemfontein.

The accommodation at Tula was exceptional. Johann received us very kindly. The undercover parking was big enough for our bakkie and trailer and was also sheltered. The unit is well-equipped and we could see a lot of maintenance work being done in and around the unit to make it as comfortable as possible for the guests. I would recommend it to anyone! I thought it was good value for money but was very disappointed in the old, ragged towels I got. I'd rather have brought my own towels if I knew this was what I was going to get. I was also not aware that there would not be a hairdryer in the room. Perhaps the guests should only be informed so that you can bring your own.

Tula 159 is a neat, family-friendly accommodation with DStv and WiFi. It's easy to get there and there is a Spar 100 meters further up the road. It's ideal for families traveling on the N1 to sleep over, quickly stock up on food supplies. The garden is beautiful and you feel right at home.

The room itself is neat. Unfortunately there were no towels set out and we had to ask for them. Although there is a small fridge, unfortunately there was no milk (fresh) or in packets (Cremora) available to use. We didn't ask as we still had leftovers from our road food to use. The owner is also unfortunately a bit blunt, just friendly.

Secure parking.
The facilities are neat, clean and convenient. Reception was friendly and helpful. Distance from highway is convenient as well as shops would be needed. TV and internet availability are a plus. Owner handled an incident with noisy residents well and quickly.
It was perfect for what we needed. It is close to the university and everything is neat and clean. The bathroom is old, but everything works as it should.
We just spent the night there. Cars are safe, everything was clean, but the place needs some renovation. Shower and closet doors not fully closed.

It is a very cute guest house, very good location and also close to Spar. Unfortunately there were one or two things that were not clean. The parking is also convenient, especially for a trailer. Will definitely stay there again.
We had a very nice stay. Two areas that would help to get the fifth star: Air conditioning - Bloemfontein is getting too hot not to put in air conditioning. The fans are not sufficient. Parking - The parking is very good when all the rooms are fully booked.
Thank you very much for the comfortable and safe stay at Tula 159. There are a few small things we can recommend. The kitchen equipment must be supplemented with basic items, such as e.g. a grater Perhaps an extra standing fan can be added for the room. It was very hot at night and the roof fan alone was not sufficient. We had extra fans without which we would not be able to sleep at night. The area is very quiet, very peaceful, the guest house is well located and easy to find and close to everything.
Location good. Room however warm and not dark enough at night. Recommend sun block curtains.

Shower is a bit small for large people.
The bedroom was neat, but really cramped. The shower floor is smooth. The coffee making facilities and mini kitchen were very welcome.
There were only two hangers for clothes in closet which can only be used for a shirt/jacket and none for trousers. The electrical appliances are operated from a single cord. This aspect itself is not a problem, provided that a multiplug is used. The bathroom has hanging space for one towel and only one small towel is provided. The room/bathroom is clearly equipped for a single person.
Shower leaks, cupboard doors keeps opening, floor dirty, underneath beds is a lot of dust, TV above the headboard of the bed. They need to revise the cutlery, there is not enough of everything. Very well-equipped for self-catering, Wi-Fi and full DStv.
Unfortunately our toilet got stuck during the night, so it needs to be fixed. The bathroom can really do with an upgrade. The barking dog next door early the morning was not pleasant.
The sheets where never changed and there were a lot of power outages throughout the night of the Saturday.
Was a little confused, there were pots, but not a stove. Was ok, comfortable with kids.

Tula 159 is a safe choice if you are looking for a safe, standard stay or a short stay. We were warmly welcomed. Unfortunately it was incredibly hot (32°C) during our stay and there was only one small ceiling fan in one room and nothing in the main bedroom. There were no safety gates in front of the doors, so we couldn't leave the sliding door or back door open for extra air. It was very uncomfortable. Owners should really provide extra fans in heat wave conditions. I also wish every owner wants to sleep on all their beds at least once a year! The mattress in the main bedroom was bumpy. Breakfast was good but it was served outside and we sat in the sun eating. Not pleasant when it is already 25°C. The pool area also needs attention. The pool was not very clean and there were no chairs to sit outside.
Friendly reception and well equipped for overnight and longer stays.
Apartment looks very good but cleanliness not good. Doors are dirty and dishcloths do not look good. The bedside lamps very dark and impossible to read by. We also had no hot water when we wanted to shower in the morning.
Must mention the showers. Stayed in another apartment last time and there shower was also very inconvenient. Shower floors are not level at all and older people will slip and fall in showers. We are young and had trouble getting in and out of the shower because of the floor. The mattress in the apartment definitely needs to be replaced.
Everything you need is in the unit.
No air-conditioner, unit was full of ants since occupation, indicative that the owner/manager did not prepare the unit well enough. Bathroom windows were not intact, beds were not stiff, owners were friendly though. In short, I expected more and I was not satisfied.This is my personal experience.
The unit was very hot, no extra fans. The overall maintenance of the unit is poor. The shower floor was incredibly smooth, the taps were badly marked, the cold was hot and the hot was cold, great risk.
The place needed a lot of work. Some of the mattresses need replacing. The place was full of mosquitoes and visitors need to be told about it. A lot of the kitchen cupboards needed repair. It was not a pleasant experience

On arrival we were very kindly received. The unit was very clean, one can see that there is a lot of effort put in daily in and around the guesthouse. The unit was equipped with everything needed to feel like a second home. A bonus was that there was uncapped WiFi, with full DStv. We enjoyed relaxing at the pool and breakfast was delicious!
Johan received us so kindly and came to meet us. Tula 159 is very centrally located, it feels like it was less than a 10 minute drive away.

Neat and clean, even the yard. Could use the internet without any problems and the TV was very clear. I also appreciated their kitchen because everything you needed was there. I will use Tula 159 anytime, because the price was also worth it.

Johann welcomed us warmly at the gate and made us feel at home immediately. We were very surprised when he informed us that he'd be moving us to a more spacious self-catering unit near the swimming pool. This unit had everything we needed and more. I would definitely stay at Tula 159 again.

We regularly go to Graaff-Reinet to visit our kids. Bloemfontein is halfway and ideal to sleep over seeing that it's halfway and you're quite tired. Beautiful shower and sleeping facilities.

Tula 159's family unit most definitely exceeded our expectations and we thoroughly enjoyed the accommodation. The central location in terms of facilities and activities is most certainly a plus point. The kitchen can do with a bit of renovation with maybe a lighter colour for the cabinets. The counter should be of such a height that you can comfortably put your chair and legs underneath. Otherwise, the open plan setup is good for familiy togetherness. Definitely excellent and pleasant accommodation experience.

I got up at 05:00 in the morning to make myself a coffee before I left. The boiler then tripped the power and I had to finish in the dark because there is no power box in the room. A bit disappointed.

The bed in the master bedroom is very uncomfortable. I would recommend replacing the mattress. I couldn't get the windows wide open, they were rusted. It was terribly hot and the fan didn't help at all.
For a 4-bed self-catering unit, the kitchen was not adequately equipped - luckily we were only 2 people left. The orientation when a person logs in was not as desired - e.g. after a search we found the light switch in an unusual place. The shower is very nice and the water sprinkler is very low and I am not a big person. There is a loose carpet in the room that curls up - we almost fell over again and again due to of it. The room is tidy and the location is perfect for people who spend the night and then travel on. The driver was very friendly and considerate.
The facilities were neat and clean. However, the entrance to the unit (no. 5) in which we stayed was a bit hidden and the path to it was awkward under a section that forms a tunnel. It is difficult to move through there with suitcases. A warm sheet on the bed will help a lot in the winter time. The access to Tula 159 is a bit awkward on a bend in the road. But originally it was quite acceptable.

On arrival at Tula we were warmly received. Parking space uncomfortable, as one struggles to get out. Unit was clean and tidy. Wanted to enjoy a little wine late at night, but no opener available in kitchen. Shower's glass panel at the bottom is not sealed, water runs on the bathroom floor while showering. Towel rail is loose, falling out as well as other hooks in bathroom were loose. My wife wanted to use the orange chair in the bedroom in the morning, but the leg was completely loose, she couldn't use it. Window in bathroom has trouble opening.
The biggest problem is that there is no place to unpack necessities, eg a place to put down coffee cups to make coffee. Someone who stays overnight does not need a large wardrobe as there is, but rather a small table with 2 chairs. A convenient power point to charge mobile phones for example would also be nice.
As previous travelers have mentioned: The bedding needs an upgrade - it is old, has stains, but appeared clean. The ceiling fan is noisy and needs to be balanced. Breakfast is not included.
We checked in very comfortably, received a key and were directed to our room. Unfortunately, there is not enough parking within the grounds for your own visiting guests, but there is street parking in front of the guest house. There is a swimming pool for those who want to cool off. The gardens are very neat and feel like being at your own home. other rooms are privately located so nobody's room looks in or down on another room so the privacy is excellent. You can come and go as you like, there is no set time for when you have to be back, have your own gate remote to open and close the gate at any time of the day or night. Guest house is quite centrally located so there are shopping centers close enough for quick shopping or eating out. Would definitely recommend for a short stay.
The bathrooms are very uncomfortable - the showers are small and the tiles look neglected and damaged. The electric current appears to be insufficient, since the kettle puts the power out if more than one kettle is used at a time. Light switches are also insufficient and not well labelled.

Easy access from the N1, friendly reception from Anna and Johan. We had unit 6, and could not use the pillows without covering them, due to heavy staining. The shower has an excessive slope to the drain that will cause a problem for elderly people. There is no vent in the bathroom, which has caused a serious amount of black mildew. Cheap overnight accommodation, but I would prefer to pay a little more for better quality.
The apartment can do with some renovating. We had a nice braai on the patio and we appreciated the privacy.
I stayed there for 2 nights, in different rooms. Not one of the rooms was clean. The cutlery in both rooms were bad and we had to stir the coffee with a dessert spoon when we were offered in that one time, because there was no teaspoon in sight. The ceiling fan in the room didn't even have blade that were still working. There was no coffee, tea, sugar of anything to drink. The glasses were all in a different shape.
In the heart of winter in Bloemfontein where the mercury drops to -3 at night only a panel heater in the bedroom, no heating device in the living area, it was very cold in that place. Noise from the neighbors and traffic kept us awake, would not recommend.
I can't fault the accommodation too much considering the price. The room we had didn't look like the picture though. The room was not properly ventilated and smelled bad when we got there. There isn't enough parking and our room was right by the parking area. Some guests came back very late, shone their headlights directly into our room, eventually my husband had to get up to help them get in. We didn't sleep much, which was the whole point of staying over, so no, I won't recommend this place.
The owner was sarcastic and made his own assumptions about our complaints. Per e-mail he was consulted about the accommodation and specifically asked if my husband and son (12 years) could stay in a room for 7 nights and prepare their own food. He never suggested a more expensive option that would've been more convenient for my husband and son.

It's ideally located (central and close to the university). We stayed in Room 3 and everything was neat and beautiful. Great value for money. The ceiling (especially in the bathroom) may just need a coat of paint. But it doesn't really bother. Our daughter has finished studying, so we probably won't just come this way again, but if we did, I would definitely book with Tula 159 again.
We arrived at Tula quite late on the Friday evening. Johan waited for us until we arrived. It was very tastefully furnished and slept really well at Tula's. Will definitely stay there again.

We had an enjoyable stay despite the motorbike that made a noise when the person left. And happy that they accommodated us with another night because our arrangements weren't certain because of a person in the hospital. Only thing I would recommend is card facilities.

We were greeted kindly and checked in quickly. The rooms were spacious but the floors were crumbling and the shower had seen better days. The fan in one room did not have speed controls and there was also a wasp nest. The beds were clean and comfortable and check out was flawless. For the price I would consider it again.
More than we expected. Everything neat. Friendly and helpful reception. More than enough for just overnight. Even coffee tea etc. Seats everywhere in the garden. Near N1 hospitals univ. etc.
Fridge door open can be reversed from right to left i.s.o from left to right, multiplug installed permanently i.s.o loose cable on the floor, cordless kettle please, main light switch pull chain to be fixed (lengthened), pole at bed to be redirected (absolutely, major criticism), grab handle at toilet, security gate does not lock securely. But for the price overall acceptable.
The accommodation was really not bad, you have everything you need for your stay. However, it is a pity that the guest house is in a noisy environment. The owners can't do anything about it. But for the price we paid, we're not going to complain about it. We ourselves won't sleep there again, but it's really not their fault, it was just very noisy. If that doesn't bother you, it's really worth going and staying there, as the stars show.

We enjoyed our stay. I was a bit disappointed in the cost of the room and meals. The amount for the room, if you compare it to other places I have stayed before, it was much cheaper for B&B, whereas here I had to pay for meals separately. The location was excellent, but that's about it.

The guesthouse is close ot the city and hospitals. The owner was friendly. Their facilities, however, are not suited for disabled people. My husband couldn't even get into the shower. The white linen is covered with spots. When we arrived the cleaner merely ironed the linen right there on the beds and pillows. Not acceptable. If you're using white linen, it has to be clean.

Was kindly welcomed, but room had dirty and used cutlery. Shower session was quite unpleasant. Attention to detail is lacking.
The unit was tidy and clean. The noise of the people next door was, however, disturbing as the units were separated by means of drywall. The bed that my wife and I slept in was so pathetic that she had to sleep on the extra three-quarters bed. I had to get up after an hour and exchange sleeping places with one of my children because my body could not stand it anymore. That after driving 860 km. It's very bad that you market yourself as accommodation and then the bed is in such a state.
If you walk on the floors you disturb the ants trying to conquer the place. The beds should definitely be replaced. The bath with the shower curtain insn't a good idea. Even after I made arrangements with the host to leave early I was parked in and couldn't star my journey on time.
I let the owner know we would be there at 7 o'clock. Was on the head 7 hours there. Had to wait 20 minutes while other guests tried to help us. He finally came out and came to unlock. There was no coffee in the room and had to ask for it. Towels were not very "fresh" either.
Neatness should be improved.

The living room couch in unit 2 is so old that it is unusable. The beds were uncomfortable and didn't provide a good night's sleep at all. The swimming pool couldn't be used because it was 1/4 empty and the paving around the swimming pool wasn't there. Looks like they're busy fixing it. The remote of the gate didn't have a battery and we had to phone to switch it. The unit is for 5 people, but there were only 4 plates. The bar fridge's freezer section is so caked with ice that it cannot be used. The aircon's remote wasn't available so we couldn't change the settings.
We got a bit and there was no answer when we phoned the reception. The manager was very uncertain whether there were any outstanding fees. The owner was not very friendly. We were not welcomed at any stage. We asked someone to help us with our luggage. (We were 3 ladies over the age of 70 years). Their answer was that they do not usually do that. A painter was called to help us. The path to our unit consisted of cement blocks with pebbles and ground in between. Our wheel bags could not roll on it. The owner then arrived and said he heard that we were unhappy. And abruptly said we did not have to pay for our stay. Meanwhile, the full amount was already paid when we booked our stay. The brown bedding has grease stains. Will definitely not go there again.
Unfortunately, someone was smoking in the room. It wasn't nice.
The parking wasn't very comfortable, due to limited space. The DStv wasn't connected when arriving and was only on the Saturday of which it was not an independent line whereby one had to watch with who ever else was changing channels. We couldn't watch our choice. Not enough crockery and cutlery. All were odds and end and not matching sets. We had to ask for two additional towels as there was only one. The lighting also wasn't good. Globes were missing and very restricted for lights. The ceiling fans is extremely fast and no way to slow it down. Bedding also need to be changed. Pillows were very uncomfortable.
Shower drain was blocked which made the shower area very uncomfortable. Bathroom flooded into the room. Limited DStv. No Wi-Fi. Long wait at gate. No gate button. Very tight.
As soon as you complain, you are taken as a person and not the problem.
Reception looks bad. No idea where to get the reception except on the cell number. The bedding was dirty and broken. Pillows very bad. Towels were wet. The question of whether you might want breakfast wasn't even there. The place needs a paint, paint shell off. No heaters in the room, or on the bed. The site is in a very bad condition.
Very disappointed. Noisy, next to a busy road, bright light that shines in the room at night, noisy guests. Owner couldn't even organize a fan when we asked, it was very hot and humid. Would not recommend this place.
First off, the floor was not clean, when we went to shower the doors did not close properly. We bought food before we booked in and when we wanted to eat the food were covered with ants. We had to throw it away and buy other food. When we complained about it, the manager only said "ag nooit". He had to help us lock the door because the lock was faulty.
Broken window hinges and lights, mouldy bath mat and towels that smelt damp, uncomfortable bed as well as dirty bed linen and high noise level from adjacent property.
No privacy. Very cold, not enough blankets. “Caters” for 3 people but insufficient crockery for 3 people. No space in the shower to put toiletries. The “No smoking” rule is not enforced – could not sleep due to smell and cold.

This was the third time we've stayed over here. What a pleasant place. Calm environment, near the centre of the city and, in our case, the MediClinic. The tariffs are reasonable and more affordable than most other guesthouses'. I can recommend Tula 159 with confidence.
Even though the guesthouse wasn't well indicated from the room, we were pleasantly surprised. The Couple Deluxe Room is a very spacious unit that has everything one needs, and more. Very good value for money.

The accommodation was perfect and was exactly what I wanted. Privacy but well located close to the University and within walking distance to shops. My only complaint is that the bathroom door did not close properly, and there was only one wine glass, but otherwise the accommodation was perfect and even peaceful. The owner took the effort to phone me numerous times to make arrangements with regard to access and it was much appreciated.
Can really recommend them with confidence. It was the second time we stayed there and will definitely go back again. It's nice and close to everywhere we wanted to be, the university, the mall, the hospital, the spar and the student houses.

We were quite surprised when we entered the budget unit at Tula 159. It was clean, comfortable and neat and the price very reasonable. The personnel is very friendly and helpful and despite it being situated on a busy road, the traffic did not bother much as the garden surroundings gave the unit a quiet ambiance. We had a very satisfactory stay and will recommend Tula 159 to family and friends for future use.

The location of the accommodation fit us like a glove. Very close to the N1 for getting onto and off the national road. It was peaceful and quiet there and we could enjoy our night's rest without any noise. We can highly recommend it as a place to stay over. The price was also very acceptable.
We arrived, phoned and were met by a lady who had our key and opened the unit for us. The key had a gate remote attached so there was no problem with leaving early in the morning, just post your key into the post box. The room was prepared for us. Everything was clean, the fridge was on, coffee and tea were provided as well as a carton of milk in the fridge which is above and beyond the average. The DStv seemed to be a full bouquet and not just the bare minimum. Towels were large, water was hot and hand-washing soap was provided. What more could we need? Possibly just a Gideon's bible in the room. We will certainly come again if we need to overnight in Bloemfontein.

Room was very neat. Bathroom was adequate with toilet and shower. Outside was neat with a large yard and place for children to play. Pool to cool off is always nice. Plenty of space to sit and relax. Ideal for short stays such as overnight stays. Owner was very friendly and helpful. Only ailment is that the shower needs to be looked after, because the bathroom gets terribly wet when it is used.

Very nice stay. Me, my teenage son and my parents shared the family unit. It really looks like the pictures on the website! With teenagers, the full DStv obviously helps a lot. We stayed 4 nights and all I missed was maybe a braai and two plate stove, but I'm sure if we had asked, we would have been helped! Will definitely stay there again.

Comfortable large room. We were two adults and two children (1 and 4 years). Close to the main road and easy to find. Shower just needs a good cleaning with sugar soap to clean the fungi between the tiles.

The customer service leaves a lot to be desired. They also have to pay more attention to the heating provided during the winter months. They should look at the plumbing and sewage system as well. There's a problem with the shower/washing machine/basin's drains as well as with the toilet's flushing system.
Everything started well, but quickly changed. There were no extra blankets in the closets. The geyser is too small for 4 people. No hot water more than 1 person bathed. The spray head (relative to the shower) sprays water when you draw water into the bath. There is a bathroom heater in the bathroom that does not work. Aircon only in the living room and the rest of the unit was very cold. It is very noisy with the busy road ahead. The neighbors were also very noisy and my husband had to go and ask them to be gentler. They started pulling the sheets off the beds even before we were out of the unit.
I do not recommend Tula at all for people going on vacation in the summer months. Air conditioning no! Fans that don't work. Pool unusable dirty. Some units facing the main road and entrance are noisy.
The house is in a very busy street. Please replace the ceiling fan, there is no fast speed needed especially when it is so sweltering hot! Would not recommend the place.

Number 5 was the best for value for money. The number 0 was not nice when we stayed the first time. Too small.
This clean and comfortable accommodation is just what a weary traveler needs. The friendly host received us even though we were a little late. He even advised us to stop by the Spar soon if we wanted to get something to eat. Furthermore, we really enjoyed the well-located accommodation.

Appreciated that when we arrived after 21:00, we where awaited for and escorted to our room. The room lights and TV was switched on which made it more ac homely feeling. Very impressed.
It is easy to find. Very well located near SPAR as well as not far from the town itself. We were there during the regional meeting of Jehovah's Jerseys and the Free State Stadium was about 4-5 km away so it was easy to get there. I will definitely stay there again myself. It is a very neat and comfortable unit. Not far at all from shops and centers in town.
Our dogs were made as welcome as we were. Super stay! Will definitely go back there next time we go to Bloemfontein dog shows.

Extremely clean and tidy, five star, we have stayed overnight at several guesthouses in Bloemfontein and this one surpasses them all. Child friendly and we like that pool is separated from accommodation with gate. Nice playground for kids and host very decent and even called earlier in the day to confirm booking. We will definitely come again.

Tula 159's location is easy to find, with the bonus that Spar is 50m away. The garden is beautiful and peaceful and the living quarters are spacious.

Covered parking inside and then it's still close to a Spar and main road and clean on sale.
Tula 159 is not easily seen from a busy street, also because it is on the corner. However, as soon as one is already inside, everything is safe and calm. We would have liked to stay closer to the parking lot and not have to walk across the lawn with my husband who walks with crutches. Johan was very helpful and the Spar shop so close to the guest house was a big advantage. The road directions from there to the highway are also completely missing.

Only upon the third request did the owner managed to supply me with a local mini-taxi firm number to use as I arrived in Bloemfontein by coach. There were a large number of crockery items absent from the kitchen that were supplied by request. It seems obvious that the personnel are left to tidy without a checking procedure, curtain hooks were missing, linen had a stale smell, most glass and kitchen ware had to be washed before use. Having said that, the setting and location was enjoyable.
We waited 2 hours to get the key to our room. Slept in a room the first night and the next day they moved us to another room. It was very inconvenient, because the people had to move our stuff and it's personal. The room we were moved to smelled like smoke, even though it said "no smoking". My mother and I were deathly ill. Didn't get any coffee in the second room. The first room's kitchen was full of ants and cockroaches. I will sleep there again. Despite all the slips.
I would suggest that they supplement the kitchen with e.g. braai bowls
All the people who stayed there on Friday morning had no hot water. I can't believe that all the rooms work from just one geyser.

Tula 159 is very quiet with nice space. The unit itself was also neat, but renovation is definitely needed ─ built-in wardrobe shelves definitely need attention! In the bathroom, the ceiling is broken. It's not big stuff, but little things like that can make one not book there again. Regular renovation is necessary with any stay. Overall very safe, quiet and spacious.
Reception well. Condition of unit disappointing. Amenities there, but untidy (cook rats in bathroom and kitchen). Black algae tackled between tiles in bathroom. Struggling with bath and shower faucets. No braai device.

My husband and I have stayed at Tula 159 several times, separately and together, and each time it has been an excellent experience. We live far away so we always have a lot of things to do in Bloemfontein, but at least we know when we get to the guest house tonight we can relax and look forward to a great night's rest in a comfortable bed with all the necessary facilities. There is a Spar and Pizza place within walking distance of the guest house if you need or need something to eat quickly. Johann is also always ready to help out and there is even a security guard on duty who helps where he can, even if it is to carry your bags. As a woman, I feel very safe and can easily get to all the most popular destinations in Bloemfontein. Will not simply sleep in another guest house again if we visit Bloemfontein.

Would really recommend the guest house to anyone staying overnight in Bloemfontein. I slept in the "budget room" for five nights and still had everything I needed at my disposal. The room is very spacious and everything but "budget". Slept great every night. The facilities were very neat and clean. I could watch all the DStv channels on a beautiful big screen TV. Johann was available to help if I needed anything. All main routes and major centers were easy to get to from the guest house.

We had a good stay, with a few issues. The shower was not cleaned before our arrival, as the people who stayed before us left their shower sponge, the soap had markings on it, and they left their razor blades cartridges in the shower also. It would really have been nice to be informed not to leave anything out on the counter as they have problems with ants. We had to throw a few things away cause of the ants that got into our food stuff - so future guests, be aware of this area-wide problem.
Although we were up against the road, traffic disturbance was minimal. Parking is secure, the accommodation was neat and clean and really good value for money. We would recommend it anytime.

We were traveling from Cape Town to Kruger Wildlife Park and Tula 159 was a good choice to spend the night. Although very basic equipped, everything we needed was there (except a drying cloth for the dishes). It's nice and close to the N1 and the secure parking was a bonus for our fully loaded vehicle. We can definitely recommend it.
We were very pleasantly surprised. The place is even better in person than in the photos so was very impressed. There is everything you need and more. Wish we could spend more time at the place itself and use the braai facilities because it looked very nice to just hang out and braai there. Would definitely recommend the place. The street outside is quite busy but you can't complain because it's nice and close to everything.

Tula is very hidden and not visible from the street. There could well be a clear indication on the pavement. We did not meet the owner. The next morning we couldn't get out (8am), but luckily there was a lady with a key who helped us.
The room, kitchen and bathroom are in excellent condition. The exterior of the house receives attention. Frying tongs are not available, and the TV's position needs to be improved.
Everything worked and was fine. We had a nice stay.

Description
This unit can accommodate 2 guests and comes equipped with a double bed, an en-suite bathroom fitted with a shower, and its own jacuzzi and fireplace. The package includes a 2-hour Jacuzzi session. Optional turnover with bunch of flowers, ice, bottle of champagne and wood for the fireplace in the winter at R500.00 (Payable on arrival, 24 hour notice required) No additional visitors will be allowed in this unit.
Accommodation comprises 5 self-catering units and 1 basic overnight room, suited to accommodate up to 20 guests. The units on offer include Basic Overnight Room, Basic Family Unit, Budget Unit, Standard Room, Standard Family Unit, and Honeymoon Suite. All units come equipped with comfortable beds, a bathroom fitted with a shower, bar fridge, kettle, microwave, and tea-and-coffee-making facilities. These units also come equipped with Wi-Fi, TV, and DStv.
The honeymoon suite offers the perfect romantic getaway with its own private jacuzzi and fireplace.
On-site facilities include a swimming pool, trampoline, play area, braai facilities, and secure parking.
Most of the frequent visitor spots such as the University of the Free State, CUT, Mimosa Mall, Waterfront, MediClinic and Free State Sports stadium are all less than 10 minutes away per car.
