Tumble-in is a lovely 2 bedroom self-catering cottage situated 150km north from Cape Town on the West Coast in Kersbosstrand, Dwarskersbos. It has beautiful sea views from the lounge and the stoep. It is located 75 m from the endless pristine beach which is perfect for all day walking and cycling at low tide.
There is 1 air-conditioned bedroom with a queen-size bed and the 2nd bedroom has a double bed. Both of the beds have electric blankets from June from the duration of winter. There is a full bathroom with shower, bath, toilet and basin. Hot water is available during load shedding. Bedding and bath towels are provided. Please bring your own beach towels.
The kitchen has a fridge/freezer, a convection microwave oven and a 4 plate gas hob. It is fully kitted out with cutlery, crockery, pots and pans, kettle, toaster and electric whisk. There is also an iron and an ironing board. T-towels, washing up cloths and dishwashing liquid is supplied.
The open plan living area is comfortably furnished and there is a 4 seater dining room table. There is free Wi-Fi and DStv and there is good cell-phone reception.
The cottage is a No-Smoking zone but guests are welcome to smoke outside. The stoep is large and covered with outdoor dining facilities and has a built in braai. A braai grid, braai rack and braai tools are provided.
There is safe off-road parking for 2 vehicles.
In Dwarskersbos there are 2 cafe's which sell food and wine as well as a few restaurants, a hairdresser, an interior décor shop, a laundromat and a skincare salon. There is a supermarket in Laaiplek and a shopping mall in Vredenburg.
For bird watching the berg river estuary is 10 mins drive away in Velddrif. The region boasts abundant bird life. Look out for pelicans, lesser and greater flamingos, blue cranes, herons, the endangered oystercatcher and the European bee-eater. The Rocherpan Nature Reserve with it's bird hides is a 10 minute drive away in the direction of Elands Bay.
There are 4x4 routes in the area as well as many gravel roads for mountain bikers.

26 guests' feedbackThe stay was so serene and perfect. The host was amazing to contact me prior to the stay and make sure that the location was sent. She even asked me to notify her when arriving in Velddrift. The beautiful location and safety was welcoming.
We were kindly received by the owner and she immediately made us feel at home. The place is clean and tidy with everything you need for a getaway. The stoep with the braai is nice and cozy and the roar of the waves is peace for the soul. Just walk across the road and you are on the beach. My girlfriend and I did not feel unsafe at all and enjoyed our days out on beautiful Dwarskersbos. I will definitely go back to Tumble-in again (summer soon!).
Had great long walks along the beach which is very close to the house. We lucky we saw whales and dolphins as we walked along the beach. Fantastic sunset, sit on a bench on the beachfront with a sundowner and watch the sun go down.
The place was nice clean and well furnished. Loadshedding is no problem as there are always lights and a gas stove. The TV also works during loadshedding. The stoep with braai was wonderful for our family, because when it got cool we closed the stoep and continued having a great time on the stoep! Sallie is very friendly and a very good hostess! Best value for money! Definitely a must!

Peaceful, quiet neighborhood, house is tidy with everything you need. Plugs in all the right places and a nice hot shower. Hostess was so friendly!

Dwarskersbos has been my favourite getaway place for approximately 35 years. Rustic and still untouched. And Tumble-in makes it easy to take this in, to recharge and come again. Thanks Sallie, your hospitality is great. Lovely place.
The location is fantastic, and very safe. Tumble-In is definitely recommended.
The house is spacious, clean and beautiful. To enjoy the sea we walked across the road, along the built path to a comfortable bench. The path is built next to the wall of an existing house on one side and an open yard on the other side, but that yard will probably soon be closed as well.
Sallie was very friendly and her place was neat and clean with everything needed. We would love to stay in Tumble-in again.

Words cannot describe the splendor and splendor of Tumble Inn. The accommodation is impeccably tidy with a fantastic sea view. Sallie's hospitality and helpfulness is from another planet. Our stay at Tumble Inn was far beyond expectations and an incredible experience. Absolutely 10 stars.
Tumble-In is very good value for money. Sallie received us kindly upon our arrival. Small thing - the shower is a bit small and leaks a little, but at least not a serious matter. Tumble-In is very baby on the beach. The sea can be smelled, seen and heard. The aircon in one room is a convenient extra for the hot days.
Tumble In is a very neat and clean house that is very well and privately located. Sallie was also in contact with us all the time. We will definitely visit the place again.
This place is in a different class and is very well priced. Excellent facilities, very neat, near the beach and Dwarskersbos is pure West Coast.
Sallie was very hospitable and made us feel very welcome. The house is neat and tidy and kitted out with whatever you would need for a stay. Really enjoyed chilling on the stoep and with the beach just a few meters away, it is the perfect place for a getaway. A little piece of heaven on earth. We will definitely be back.
Sallie and Nigel are the perfect host. Always made sure we are comfortable and warm in the chilli August weather. The house is all neat, clean and tidy with just enough decor to brighten up the place, so you don't have to worry about your child breaking anything. From the moment I made the reservation till after we left, they kept in touch to ensure we had a fantastic stay with them. It felt like we were visiting family, but still kept their distance for us to enjoy our family holiday. We will definitely be back again and a must for any family. Thank you Sallie and Nigel.

What a lovely and relaxing getaway! Beautiful, well-appointed cottage with a spacious veranda overlooking the sea and well-kept water-wise garden. The kitchen and living area are cosy and equipped with everything needed. There are even some beach toys and well-known board games. Sallie warmly received me and was always thoughtful and helpful. I'd love to check in there again.
Tumble Inn is a lovely peaceful place to unwind and take long strolls on the pristine beach. My hostess Sallie was friendly and accommodating.
The name "Tumble-in" sums it up nicely as it's definitely a place I'll be coming back to! Very neat and clean. House is equipped with everything you need. Parking is safe and the bonus is walking distance to the sea/beach. Had fun jogging along the sea in the mornings! See you again soon in 2020 - thank you.
