The wildlife roam freely around the house and we were even fortunate enough to see the elephant tribe come through for an evening stroll and drink at the water feed. The house is sufficient and has all you need. Would definitely recommend it for a family weekend getaway.
We had an incredible stay at Twiga Lodge. The owners have definitely put a lot of thought into what to put into the house to make one's stay extra special and comfortable, like the ice machine, espresso machine, extra freezer, bar area, comfy linen, dishwasher, etc. The outside area was amazing with the fire pit, chill area, pool, and watering hole. The animals visited us daily at the house. Mabalingwe itself had so much to offer, from the game drives to the putt putt, the spa, Vulture Bar, and the list goes on.
The house is beautiful, animals all day around the house. The cleaner was very friendly. Had a wonderful Easter weekend.

Beautiful house with everything you need.
Booking was surprisingly smooth considering we booked 1 day before checking (last minute). The house is quite spacious and very cosy. We loved the activities at the game reserve too. We booked 2 nights but we felt next time we'll extend, there's just so much to do (or not do, just relax and absorb the quietness). One thing we didn't like ─ it doesn't look like the house was prepared properly before arrival. There was a lot of dust and insect skins on counters and couches. That's the only thing we didn't like. Maybe it was because we booked only 1 day before check-in. All in all, we loved it. Our son says we should make it our local holiday destination.
What an experience - everything was just there as if the owner thought of everything anyone might need. The waterhole is an extra bonus - animals come and go to drink the whole time. Many njala, warthogs, and about 20 to 30 mongooses. An extra bonus: the night before we left, about 12 elephants came to drink water - that was so amazing.
Twiga Lodge is a comfortable unit that is well equipped. The unit is neat and meets all your requirements. The unit is cleaned daily and wildlife is on your doorstep every day. Nice playground in Mabalingwe for small children, making it a convenient destination for families with small children.
Outstanding house, great standard and nice to have a water hole right there which ensures that there are animals all the time. A trifle that doesn't bother too much is traffic that can be heard from time to time on the main road. We were able to recharge our batteries well with the rest, peace and carefreeness that the beautiful place provides.
We really enjoyed our stay at Twiga Lodge Mabalingwe. It was fantastic to see the elephants up close. We loved the boma area.

Fully equipped with a lovely view of the pool and waterhole. Enjoyed the animals that came to drink. Traffic can be somewhat of a hindrance as the house is located near the road. Although due amenities and the experience surpassed it.
We had the most enjoyable break and Twiga Lodge is beautiful! The pictures can't really capture the beauty of the place completely, it has to be experienced for yourself. Andrzej and Elizma are stunning hosts and answered all questions in such detail and quickly before we left and were very concerned about us the whole time during our time there. All the little extras that you notice when you're there put them just one step above the other accommodations we've been to in the past. It was a great getaway and we will definitely be visiting again! Thank you Andrzej and Elizma!
Everything you need is there, they really put a lot of effort into it. We will definitely be back. One can easily visit here for a whole month without being bored once.
The house is comfortably furnished, modern and beautiful. Well located with a water hole at home. Lovely boma right next to the house and open forest in front of the house with many animals. Highly recommended.

The children and adults really enjoyed the splash pool. The air conditioning in the rooms was heavenly. Animals came to visit the water hole daily. Hopefully we can visit again soon. Thank you Twiga Lodge.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Do however think the rates are a bit high for the place. But overall wonderful experience.
Comfortable house, practically furnished. Management has paid attention to every fine detail. And there was more than enough of everything - coffee "pods", towels, bed linen, crockery. The waterhole where wildlife came to drink water was very special.

Was a good needed break from the city. Animals come really close to the house. Main road a bit close so could hear taffic sometimes. Other than that was very enjoyable and had everything we needed.
Lovely house in the woods with everything you need. Outdoor and indoor barbecue, a nice splash pool to cool off and a nice veranda overlooking the water hole where wildlife likes to come and drink water. House is equipped with everything you need. Only problem is, no water if there is load shedding, due to the pressure pump that cannot work.
Twiga Lodge Mabalingwe is well equipped and spacious. The lodge itself is lovely, but be aware that it is on the main tar road and that the heavy vehicles and high speed traffic are very disturbing.

Clean, tidy and the silence of the forest. There are so many different animals. We can't wait to be there again. Perfect for friends and kids. You can keep an eye on them from all angles. Perfect for friends with kids. We will be there again soon for sure.
What an amazing getaway. The house is beautiful and has everything you could need. What an amazing experience it was for our young children to see the animals up and close around the house. We will be back for sure and highly recommend everyone to stay at Twiga Lodge. Out of all the places we have stayed at, we can honestly say Twiga Lodge is the best!

Between the ages of 60 and 3, we all enjoyed it. The lodge has everything that you may need (even during a power cut). The water hole with salt blocks takes care of a steady stream of animals that come to visit.
Our group of 8 had an unforgettable weekend at Twiga Lodge. The lodge has everything and more that one needs. The Boma visit is fantastic as is the fact that there is a watering hole for the animals. Thank you very much again.

Twiga Lodge only needs TV in 2 rooms in winter months. And solar for pool, is in shade all day so swimming is not possible in winter.

The bedding, towels are clean, tidy and durable and the rest of the amenities in the house really high quality. We enjoyed our weekend break in the bush. Lovely lodge with everything you need. The Lodge is comfortable and we had daily visits from animals. Enjoyed the splash pool during the day and fire boma in the evenings. Will definitely visit the lodge again.
Clean, tidy and quiet. We were greeted every morning by our animal companions. Owners helped in every way and referred where needed. The house does not have a bath but could plan to bathe little one.
The house is very well equipped and comfortable, but unfortunately it is also located very close to the tar road outside Mabalingwe which is very noisy. If I had known this I would have looked for other accommodation because I wanted to hear the silence of the forest.
Well equipped, comfortable and tidy. The photos are a true reflection of Twiga Lodge. The pool is heated and was an absolute winner among children and adults. Animals come and go throughout the day which is lovely. Note to guests: Do not feed the warthogs! They are already so tame that they get very close to people, and with children under 2 it makes you nervous. Stay a wild animal.

The swimming pool's step is a bit low in the swimming pool. It is a struggle to get in and out of the pool. Otherwise it was fantastic.

Twiga Lodge is the perfect place for a short getaway to the bush as it is so close to Gauteng. The house is spacious enough for a medium size group and is conveniently equipped with everything one might need. The house is clean and tidy and the help of a cleaning lady daily is a nice treat. The warthogs and njalas who come to drink daily near the house contributed to the bushveld atmosphere.
Twiga Lodge is very well appointed with all the amenities needed and more. The private pool is lovely and there are animals from time to time at the water hole and salt licks. The house is spacious and there is more than enough space for 8 adults. We had a great time there.
Twiga Lodge is the perfect accommodation, what you saw in photos was a real replica and everything you need for a great stay and so many extras. The house is beautifully furnished and there is really nothing missing except guests to use the house and enjoy your stay! We will cherish this part of our vacation for years to come. The house is very neat and luxurious. We were warmly welcomed and they made sure that we enjoyed our stay. Due to the water hole, salt leaks and alfalfa, various animals visited the house during the day and night. You can literally view the wildlife in front of you from the porch. Thank you very much for making it unforgettable for us. We will definitely want to visit again. The attractions and activities in the nature reserve are also very affordable, some even free.

Twiga Lodge exceeded all my expectations. Definitely a beautiful place with all facilities you have at home. House built in such a way to provide bush views from everywhere in the house. Twiga Lodge has a washing machine, dishwasher en tumble dryer. There are braais outside and inside, as well as an indoor fireplace. Beautifully furnished with 3 en suite bedrooms. 2 more single beds on the first floor. We were 3 adult women who spent 2 nights and felt very safe there. Just a few steps from the Jacuzzi is a waterhole that lured many animals. You only need to sit on the veranda and wait for the bush theatre to start. Some of the animals came close to the house. Would definitely recommend Twiga Lodge. Many activities in the area. We also visited cheetahs and elephants. The Mabalingwe Resort also has many restaurants, swimming pools, etc.
Twiga Lodge is well-equipped. The aircon and fans are a must in summer. Thanks so much. The pool in front of the Lodge provided hours of fun for the kids. The watering hole with fodder attracted lots of animals.
It was a lovely break in the Bosveld with my husband and our two sons and daughters-in-law, with so many different animals visiting us. While our son was in the splash pool, an ostrich family with 5 little ones came for a visit. It was priceless! Among the other animals that came to visit were a bushbuck cow, quite a few warthogs, a whole lot of nyalas - bulls and cows with their young. A beautiful kudu bull came to drink water and one evening around the braai meat fire a rhinoceros bull made its appearance, I don't know who was more startled, me or him! It was quite an experience to see him so close. For us as a family that enjoys nature, it was truly a wonderful treat. Thank you very much for all the arrangements to make our stay unforgettable.
Was very nice there and the animals are always around the place too. The place is neat and well located.
We visited Twiga Lodge in early September. The house was everything and more than we expected. A highlight was the waterhole which is 20 meters from the house and attracts many animals. One can just sit on the stoep almost the whole day. The house is well maintained and the beds were very comfortable to sleep on. The only negative for us is that it is relatively close to the tarmac road between Bela-Bela and Thabazimbi and that unfortunately you can hear the traffic.

We were 3 brothers- and sisters-in-law who left the kids with grandpa and grandma for a getaway. The place is really nicely laid out and has everything you might need. Will highly recommend it to anyone. Twiga rocks!
The house is very comfortable, especially the living area. Well equipped and the watering hole is a winner. Stairs to the top floor isn't quite so comfortable and I won't say the swimming pool's solar heating is effective. Would easily make use of Twiga Lodge again.
