The air-conditioned cabins are furnished with 2 single beds or a king-size bed, and have en-suite bathrooms fitted with showers. Each of the cabins is equipped with a safe for valuables, a panel heater, tea- and coffee-making facilities, a small fridge, a hairdryer, towels, and gowns.
The communal facilities include a lounge, a kitchen, a covered outdoor dining area, and a boma with braai facilities for an evening under the stars. The kitchen is fully equipped with a stove and oven, a microwave, a fridge-freezer, cutlery and crockery, as well as a dishwasher, and for convenience, 1 bag of ice and 1 bag of wood is provided upon arrival. DStv is included.
A large colony of Cape Vultures live on the farm, and as the camp is not fenced, the game roams freely in and around. Guests can explore the farm on foot or by bicycle, or go on a self-drive game drive.

7 guests' feedbackWe had an amazing time. The host was so helpful and proactive in her communication. She even went so far as to purchase braai meat for us as the butcher would be closed when we came through Kimberley.
It was a very pleasant experience!
The best equipped self catering we have ever been in. Hostess was friendly and communicated about load shedding, otherwise we are comfortable on our own. We were able to enjoy walking and wildlife watching. I definitely recommend Uitkyk. We go again.

We stayed overnight and wished we could stay longer. Three very well designed wooden chalets and a communal area with everything you need - including a boma, kitchen and dining room. The furniture and fittings are fresh and good quality. Quite a lot of animals to see, very close to the chalets. The site is fairly close to the highway, so you hear traffic in the very distance, but not that it spoils the atmosphere. The hostess was very friendly and helpful and even brought my forgotten items to Kimberley for me to collect. The Paardeberg Anglo-Boer War site is nearby, well worth a visit, but you would need to read up about it beforehand to understand the significance. Magersfontein Boer War site also nearby. I would suggest adding burglar bars to the windows - perhaps not necessary, but some people may feel anxious about safety. The windows are fairly small anyway so I felt quite OK. The owners live about 10 minutes' drive away.
