We had a very short stay at Uitkyk House. A beautifully put together farm house, with stunning views. We loved that it was only a short drive out of town, but it felt like we were in the middle of nowhere. Will definitely be coming back for a weekend visit.
Everything was fantastic. Big, clean, tidy place with views in all directions. Low cars are going to struggle to get out there. Mosquitoes are a problem. Everything else was great.
We had the most excellent stay for two nights in the mid-winter period. The house is tastefully furnished and stunningly located with views in all directions, and we enjoyed the combination of peace and tranquility slightly removed from the main town but still easily accessible. Relaxing with friends in the spacious lounge with a warm fire while the winter did its thing outside will be long remembered.
Loved every moment! On a cold, windy and snowy weekend Uitkyk was the perfect place to unwind. Artistically decorated and everything available that you could want, this place is a winner. Only thing, the hot water for the showers could have been hotter.
Excellent farm house with modern features and an amazing view. Just outside town. Safe with neighbours close enough, but far enough away to feel alone in the Karoo. Owner was very responsive and one small issue was sorted in no time.

I would recommend it to anyone, but please remember to take enough protection against mosquitoes. The mosquitoes severely bit my wife. Wi-Fi was not working, but we did not mind as we enjoyed the quietness. The location is not accessible by a low car.

The house exceeded all expectations. Everything is there. We took hopelessly too much with us, only to find out the house was fully equipped even with items we didn't expect. The silence and tranquility is overwhelming, exactly what we wanted. You can see the town from the house, but the nearest neighbors are more than three quarters of a kilometer away. We really want to go back again one day.
It was already my second time staying at Uitkyk. I've stayed all over Prince Albert, but Uitkyk wins hands down. Excellently equipped, breathtaking views, charming furnishings.
Uitkyk House is on a beautiful estate, with the most amazing view over the Karoo. Is so tastefully decorated, everything very clean and of the best quality. A porch that protects you from winds from all sides with lovely places to hang out, braai and swimming pool that all once again look out over the Karoo. The indoor fireplace was too delicious for cold days. Everything you need is available - just take your clothes and enjoy the Karoo.
Exactly what the other people's feedback was is true. It had been a fantastic break for our family. Even with the frequent 'loadshedding' we enjoyed it. Thank you very much.

The house feels like a living house and not a rental house. It has everything needed and very spacious. Nice TV, air conditioner, fireplace, barbecue, swimming pool, view of the Karoo and the animals are also welcome!
Communication was not so good. The electricity was out and she had to come and put extra money on it.
We had a most wonderful and relaxing 3-night stay - myself, my husband and our small dog. The house is very well-equipped, with firewood supplied as well. The garden is not enclosed, so keep an eye on your pets. The indoor fireplace was a winner for our stay in winter. Comfortable bed, linen and bedding. Good quality towels as well. Only thing is the house needs a good overall clean - dusty, dirty windows, pool hasn't been cleaned for some time (even though we didn't use it). The lady who came for our check-out was very rude. Overall 4.5 stars due to location, privacy, facilities and amenities, well-equipped, comfortable and incredible views! We'll definitely visit again!

We were 3 friends who got together at Uitkyk House for a women's getaway. It was the perfect house for a good time together. The view from the porch (front and back) was breathtaking. The house was equipped with everything we could possibly need. It really felt like a home and we were able to relax together. We felt really safe and it was great to be able to experience the Karoo open while being close enough to the town to pop into the little shops and art galleries. We will definitely meet again at Uitkyk House.

When you walk into Uitkyk Huis you feel as if you are visiting friends - it is so warm and cosy, furnished with so much Karoo warmth that you can hardly believe anyone trusts strangers with all their beautiful things! We spent a family/family weekend here with the children and our grandchild and had a great time on the wonderful Karoostoep. The silence is a retreat for the soul and mind and the starry sky is from another world. Here is everything you could need. Here you find out again what is important in life so Uitkyk Huis is truly the place to give you a new outlook on life.

The photos do not do the house justice. This home is a gem!. Neat, clean, fully equipped, the location is phenomenal. For a luxury break where you can experience the peace of the Karoo, this is your place. The road to the house is not very good, but can be reached by any vehicle. It's nice and close to the town and comfortable for a bit of sightseeing and visiting. For us, the silence and the view were like ointment for the soul. The swimming pool and air conditioning offer relief from the summer heat, but we will definitely visit in the winter as well. The fireplace is calling!

What a surprise, the house has absolutely everything you could possibly need for an extended visit. The peace, security and utter beauty are beyond compare. I felt like I was in a Home magazine special - the decor is superb. Madri, a hostess who didn't bat an eye when my overheated dogs promptly climbed into her pool, is a gem. Thank you. For a city girl not used to dirt roads - I did, however, find the road rather frightful and that was the only downside for me.
Uitkyk House offers value for money. House is very neat, spacious and convenient. Would definitely recommend Uitkyk House. Area is also quiet and safe, owner is also very friendly and helpful. Will definitely book again.
