Had a fantastic two days at Uitspan Baviaanskloof. What a beautiful part of the Baviaanskloof. Fantastic hike up to the arch guided by Blackie the dog, and Alta and Nico were wonderful hosts.
Mountain cliffs out of this world! Quiet and peaceful! The host had a compressor, which was a relief, and checked my tyres before I left!
Peaceful with all amenities that are needed. Everything well maintained and clean. Geysers were not switched on for our house as well as the ablution block next door, so that was a little disappointing, but otherwise a fantastic stay.
It feels like you are part of the gulf! Very nice stay. Cottage well equipped and tidy. Highly recommended. Very helpful hostess.

The long drive from Lydenburg Mpumalanga to get there was definitely worth it. House no 1 is a gem. Closest to the gorge. Comfortable, clean and tidy. Our 5 days were just too little. Nico and Alta make an extra effort to make their guests feel at home and comfortable. The silence and nature are the best. The hiking trails around Uitspan are breathtaking. Also lots to see within 50 km radius. Nice swimming pool and the farm pond with a zipline is a big attraction for young and old. It was a privilege to be able to stay here. Thank you very much. Photos do not do justice to the feeling and atmosphere. So much more beautiful once you are there. The braai on the stoep was also a winner.

One of the most beautiful places in Bavian. Clean, tidy, hospitable reception and much more. The cottage is beautiful and fully equipped. Despite heavy rain, we were able to braai on a sheltered porch. Will definitely visit again.
Excellent location, private, quiet and safe. Chalet 1 offers every convenience. Alta is an admirable and knowledgeable hostess. Blackie is the biggest sweetie pie. I have yet to meet a more protective and obedient dog. 4 nights of much-needed restoration in total tranquillity. Bird's galore and even a very polite little field mouse. 10 Out of 10.
Breathtaking views, nice hiking trails.
Our reception at Uitspan was wonderful. Alta was very friendly and hospitable. We loved receiving the two dogs, Blackie and Jesse. They are beautiful, well behaved and obedient dogs and made us feel right at home. The accommodation was also fully equipped with everything we needed. Our chalet No. 1 was located right on the mountain and the peace and quiet was breathtaking. The chalet was very neat and comfortable. It is a beautiful place to relax and enjoy. We were very lucky to have a full moon and it was fantastic to see the moon come over the mountain. Blackie slept all night at the chalet and what was amazing was that we were asked not to feed the dogs. It wasn't necessary, because the moment we finished grilling and took out the cutlery to sit down to eat, both dogs laid down and didn't beg for food or bother us once. The same in the morning with breakfast. They both also took a walk around the pond with us. A wonderful experience.
It was a quick getaway and birthday celebration in one. It was very nice and the silence was much appreciated.

Great variety of hiking trails. The sheepdog is a great walking guide. View is also equipped with comfortable camping sites. A true paradise surrounded by nature.

Uitspan guest farm is truly an excellent choice if you want to visit the Baboons. Our host and hostess (Nico and Alta) were very friendly and helpful. The covered caravans were clean and tidy and one could eat off the floor. The accommodation was well equipped with everything one needs for self-catering. The "cherry-on-the-cake" was the sheepdog, Blackie, who looked after us from morning to night and showed us the walking routes like a real guide. He won't let your kids wander off alone for a moment and has the most beautiful disposition. Our 3 nights at Uitspan went hopelessly too quickly and we are already longing to return to the peaceful atmosphere and well-appointed accommodation. Many thanks Uitspan and especially to Alta, our hostess (and Blackie, our four-legged camp friend).
The host was extremely helpful and very accommodating. It was very cold but the cottage was fully equipped with an electric blanket, braai facility, kitchen gadgets, etc. We would definitely return! Thank you for a wonderful stay.

The accommodation inside the gorge was really something special. It was really so beautiful to see the cliffs around us and how the light on them changes like the sunset. It was unforgettable scenery. We feel so privileged to have been able to make a visit there. The unit we stayed in contained all the necessary items. We had a great barbecue there and enjoyed the silence of the mountain. We will definitely spend the night there if the opportunity arises again. Highly recommend for people who want to enjoy the silence of the mountain.

It was very cold on our visit there and load shedding didn't make it any better. Still, we were cozy in the house with everything one needs. Provision is also made for load shedding with a gas plate and rechargeable lights. Beautiful place. Will definitely go there again.

What a beautiful part of South Africa! We travelled a long way to arrive at Uitspan, where a friendly Nico showed us to our covered caravan stay. This option is budget-friendly, cozy, and perfect for us as two couples to enjoy. The view across the farmlands and grazing sheep is peaceful. We had no need for anything as the kitchen equipment was more than adequate. Our own ablution block right next to us was clean, spacious, and fully functional.
We had a nice stay and our dogs were welcome which is a big plus.

Uitspan Bavaiaanskloof was the highlight of our recent slog tour. We were warmly received and spent the night in the Chalet for 2 people. Its location is idyllic and private and the scenery so beautiful. The interior of the Chalet is nicely furnished and compact - nothing is lacking. I would like to stay there for much longer. Definitely recommend.

Two caravans under a canopy with the most beautiful view with a nice braai area and all overnight facilities you will need, including meat, wood and something to drink. And enjoy the geese, the dog child and the mountain with hot water and a toilet, nice warm people and pleasant accommodation.
The kids had a ball, tadpole hunts, exploring mountain pools. And all of it in an ideal setting, with 'home' being a simple, perfect, cosy mountain cottage. Thank you for a really great stay!

We really enjoyed sleeping at Uitspan at Cottage 1. The tranquility is exactly what we needed after a rough year. Cottage 1 has everything you need to barbecue and enjoy your time in nature. We will definitely visit Uitspan again.
The environment is beautiful. Our chalet was small but 100% functional and comfortably furnished with everything we needed. The whole resort is very well planned. We would like to stay there again and longer.
Chalet no. 3 is well equipped with everything you need. Some of the kitchen stuff is a bit old (broken kettle lid), but everything works. We had a wonderful stay, walking and stunt-slide.

Experience to carry with us forever. Forest house for 2-3 and everything advertised on the website is there. Clean and tidy, with hot shower, nice bed to sleep on with springs and electric blanket to brave the cold in the gorge. Kitchen very well equipped. Magnificent cliffs and forest around you with birds calling and visiting and also Blackie the dog walking the forest paths with you.

It is difficult to summarize the impact of the environment. I had never been to the Baviaanskloof before, so I was a bit taken aback by the dramatic scenery and the 'open spaces'. Our hostess was very kind and accommodating and the accommodation itself was comfortable, neat and clean. We stayed in a self-catering unit and it was right in a gorge. The pictures from every window and from the porch were impressive. The bed was very comfortable and the linen wonderfully cuddly. Two tips for future guests: take the dirt road just this side of Willowmore instead of the one closer to Uniondale. Unless you drive an Isuzu or something like that. That extra 10 km almost broke us apart. While the road from Willowmore was pretty scraped. Then, if you are going for a walk, please let me know. for the hostess before you leave as well as where you plan to walk to. We had a hairy experience in the dark through the canyons that I wouldn't recommend to everyone. Thanks Team! See you again!
