Our visit was during the winter with the resort very quiet during the period. It was therefore perfect, with only forest sounds to listen to.
It was great!
Quiet place, clean and tidy. Close to Camp Discovery to watch boys' sports every day. Will book there again in the future. Value for money.
A wonderful venue for a breakaway. The kids had so much to do. Slides into the pool, climbing wall, zip-line and a bouncing pillow. Also a dam to catch fish easily and bike trails. Our chalet was perfectly situated to keep an eye on the kids in the pool. And some caravan sites have clean private bathrooms and a small kitchen. Although the site was fully booked, we never felt crowded. Just 1 hour away from Pretoria, right next to the Dinokeng game reserve. We purchased a 7-day self-drive permit and saw 2 cheetah groups with mothers and cubs, as well as many other game. We will definitely return!
Receptionist, very friendly and helpful. Very nice farm, and nice walking paths. Comfortable without extras, but with everything you need, ideal short break with grandchildren. The children really enjoyed the cycling paths and swimming pool. Very safe environment. Here you can rest. Will definitely go back to the Sysie unit.

Stay was very nice. Just think the check-in time can be a little later than 17h00. Really like that each stand has its own kitchen and ablution block.
Peaceful atmosphere in the forest. We had a wonderful stay. Due to load shedding we could not call to get the pin from the gate to enter the resort. We had to huddle together until someone came to open the gate. This is no fault of the resort, but maybe the pin should be provided instead of calling. The dirt road had not been scraped for a long time and was heavily corrugated.
We and our children enjoyed it tremendously. The chalet we stayed in was called Visvanger. It was clean and tidy. The environment was very beautiful. I would recommend it to other people.

Uitvlugt is in a constant state of work to upgrade - men were mixing concrete right next to me while we were relaxing at the pool - and the fine concrete dust meant I was inhaling it; they were trying to get the large waterslide working in time for a large influx of guests and horses - for a parade commemorating the Battle of Blood River. Prior to preparing for these guests, there was nothing of note to buy in the shop - then it was stocked with cool drinks. The pool and waterslide already in use were a Godsend, as it was really the only thing for the kids to do. The jumping pillow is very small, not undercover, and not switched on after rain as it was slippy and not safe - but it could have been dried off for use. I sort of felt that we (the only people there before the parade people arrived) were not very important. The field next to our cottage was not mown until the new visitors were coming, hence our kids could not use it to play. There was no provision for loadshedding. It was so hot that it would have been nice to braai, but in pitch dark was not pleasant and scary for the kids. There are no solar lights on the grounds, in loadshedding it is just plain pitch-black darkness. And what is a children's play area? An unmown field? A jungle gym would be nice (shaded! it gets hot there!). It's quiet and peaceful, and the buck and bushpigs you see are interesting but it needs a bit more thought for the comfort of the paying customers. I took rechargeable lamps and globes, torches and a camping gas braai - without them, it would have been a disaster!
Place is being improved. New owners are going to make a success. What we did experience was worth it.
We were a group of 10 adults and 3 children - some camped and the rest stayed in chalets. The chalets have been recently redone, very tidy and really have everything you might need. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The pool is a big plus point!
We had a very nice stay, we were welcomed kindly, we were visited from time to time, visited by the owner and made sure everything was still ok. We ordered ice and wood numerous times, and there was no long wait before the friendly workers brought it to us. Units were very neat, equipped with what is needed. The fact that chalets are spaced quite far apart is a good thing that no neighbors limit the other's rest time etc. What we can recommend is that it is asked when booking if any person has a problem with eco-friendliness, because the place is only eco-friendly. Spiders became our pets, but did not take away the fear. Other than that, I really can't say anything funny / ugly or unkind, it's very very beautiful, tranquility by itself. And would like to go back after all the changes etc have been made to be able to provide an updated review.
