Was privileged to be the only guests for the weekend. Owners went out of their way to make our stay pleasant. Specially switched on the generator for us when there was loadshedding.

Ukuthula Lodge is a short walk from the Maroela Hub where Saturday's race started and finished. There is a tarmac road up to Ukuthula Lodge. The personnel went out of their way to accommodate us. On Sunday, after the race there was a delicious Father's Day dinner. The lodge's grounds are very beautiful, with beautiful steel artwork, logs and plants. The rooms are clean and comfortable.
Room spotless. Staff excellent service. Breakfast was very good. Receptionist went the extra mile to arrange that a sandwich was made after hours and served as room service to us. Will definitely recommend Ukutula Lodge to future guests.

There is not much to do in the area. The stay at Ukuthula Lodge was 100% worth it.
If they can be able to assist with game drives on the nearest game lodges, that would be great. And also they must invest in more activities on sites.

Ukuthula is in the small town of Rooiberg which may be a bit out of the way for most people. Because it is such a small town, one does not expect such good and tidy accommodation. Ukuthula offers everything one could need with great service. If you want to escape a little for a quick getaway this is a good choice. Would love to go back again in the summer.

Lovely lodge for a weekend getaway, clean, tidy, friendly staff, delicious food, affordable prices. We left the lodge early in the morning and every night they packed us a lunch box for the next morning.
What a wonderful abode after a long day on your bike on the open road. Friendly reception and the check-in procedure is painless. Heated room when we entered from the cold outside, wonderful experience. Everything was spotless and tidy. The bar lady was friendly and allowed us to watch rugby late in the evening, even though everyone had gone to bed already! Delicious breakfast, and then we were ready to hit the road again.

We enjoyed our stay at Ukunthula Lodge. The staff were very friendly and accommodating.
The only thing missing was that Ukuthula, could not arrange a game drive for us on many of the nearby private game reserves. The staff on duty said that the owner will normally do that, but that he was away on leave. Otherwise the Lodge was excellent, but with no game viewing, it could be somewhat boring, unless one wants only peace and quiet with as little activity as possible.
We really enjoyed the stay in the rondavel. The place was neat and very clean. It's within walking distance from Rooiberg. Peaceful atmosphere and delicious breakfast. Lodge's swimming pool and bar are great..
