This place is awesome, the environment with the lemon, orange and pecan trees. The inside of the house is modern, clean and 10 out of 10. Might get a casserole if you barbecue. Really a nice place and comfortable. Walked to Sommer Spar.

The cottage is neat and clean but tiny. It is fine for a night or two. But for two adults that do not share the same bedroom, there is only one, it is far too small. Hardly enough room to walk past each other. Since it was my mother and I, and neither of us wanted to relive our university years, I decided to cancel. This was within my rights as stipulated on the website. And I did get a refund for the period I cancelled. In fact, I informed the owner three days before I was required to do so. At this point the owner, a lawyer, became abusive. Swearing at least three times and telling me how they would now lose money. Playing an emotional game of blackmail. Really outrageous and unacceptable. Apparently, the rules of politeness do not apply when a contract he does not like is legally kept to. Childish tantrums are not appreciated. The courtyard for the dogs is spacious and well-secured but shared with his law office and his daughter’s hair salon. I was only warned about this the evening before my arrival. Since it was the holiday season this was not an issue but something to keep in mind if you have large dogs as I have. After we vacated the guesthouse I offered to pay for a dinner plate I dropped by accident. At this point, I was told the place was left very untidy/dirty. I assume hair from the animals. I had clearly spelt out the issue when booking. And I had brought my own bedding. Packed away the scatter rugs. And there was no vacuum or broom available. But had there been, with two German shepherds and two adults it would have been hard in such a confined space to keep it neat and clean. I spelt out in advance that German shepherds shed a lot of hair. On arrival, I was assured this was no problem but having cancelled early it became a bone of contention. The owner said that after our stay she would change the rules about animals. My dogs do not dig holes. Do not get onto furniture. I brought blankets to cover the sofas. They do not chew. Are well behaved. I cannot recommend this guesthouse.
