Annelie is accommodating and pleasant and her attention to detail and efforts to make your stay as comfortable and pleasant as possible have no limits. The "cottage" where I stayed has everything you need and I was pleasantly surprised to see how big and spacious the "cottage" is. One's soul and body have no choice but to totally relax at Umpukane! This is definitely a place I will definitely go back to again, but next time it won't be for business. I feel that one needs at least a week to be able to enjoy the natural beauty and tranquility.

We were looking for a quiet weekend to recharge our batteries - the time at the accommodation was all that and more! Beautiful scenery with a farm feel; the "Cottage" was neat and clean and everything we needed was there.

It was so nice to be welcomed at the door by Annelie in the middle of a thunderstorm. Nice farm-fresh milk and spring water in the fridge and even fresh flowers on the dinner table. Will definitely stay here again and stay longer next time to explore the farm and surroundings a bit.
The room was nice and clean, reception was very friendly, cheerful flowers welcomed us everywhere. The view is beautiful and the dogs that come to say hello are very friendly. We had a very pleasant experience.
From the moment we walked in, our accommodation was on the Gardenview Unit. The hostess made an extra effort to make you feel welcome. Will definitely stay here again.
The cottage was so neat and met all our needs. The silence and nature was one of the greatest gifts. No cell phone, TV and internet, it was nice. We will spend the night again at Umpukane.
We did not meet the owner of the guest house at all.
Only complaints are that the sanitary bin in the bathroom had not been emptied prior to our arrival and the bin outside near the braai area was not emptied and contained some foul smelling remnants.
Friendly people, perfect location and most luxurious accommodation. Even though we only stayed one night, it was all worth it. Incredibly beautiful place, I recommend it to anyone who likes nature and silence.

Umpukane is a piece of heaven on earth! Everything was absolutely perfect: hospitality, accommodation, location, even the weather was perfect! The Garden View apartment has everything to have an amazing getaway! Would definitely recommend and definitely visit again!
We have often stayed on farms via the website. Umpukane was simply one of the best. The hostess took care of all our needs and provided a few extras (local grape juice). The view from The Cottage is lovely and there are so many places to walk and things to do that we would have liked to stay much longer than the 3 nights.
Umpukane is a lovely farm and the accommodation and view are beautiful. Massive large apartment with everything you could need. We felt right at home and will definitely stay there again in the future.
Annelie was very friendly and we settled in early. The apartment is perfect. Well-deserved break from a stressful time. Highly recommended.
We received very good and friendly service during our stay. The house is beautiful, spacious and very tidy. The extra heaters and underfloor heating were very welcome in the evenings. The children especially enjoyed playing and exploring in the garden while we could just relax. The view and surroundings are fantastic. We definitely intend to visit again.

The cottage met all our expectations. There are nice views from the lawn, the kitchenette is well equipped and it was wonderfully warm with a heater and electric blankets provided. The spring water is a bonus and the greenery of the surroundings in the cottage was special. A lot of effort was made to make our stay pleasant - we really enjoyed it! The silence and tranquility was wonderful!
Although we only spent one night in the cottage it was really well equipped with beautiful views. Our host was very friendly and made sure we were settled and happy with the accommodation. The cottage has proper farm decor which adds to its appeal. We would definitely like to return for a longer stay to fully benefit from the walks available on the farm and to enjoy the tranquillity it offers.
It is a place that is well located to be able to explore the area. The self-catering unit is very neat and well furnished. If you are looking for silence and privacy then this is the place for you. We received very friendly and helpful service just as it should be in the Free State. I would definitely recommend Umpukane!

I am convinced that the sun does not rise as beautifully in the entire Eastern Free State as it does here, and doesn't set as beautifully as well. Lovely location. Lovely view. Lovely walks. Lovely people. What we couldn't buy for the oven or braai right around the corner at the roadside stalls, Clocolan, just around the corner, could provide. There is a feeling of seclusion, without necessarily having seclusion. Warm reception and South African hospitality without intrusiveness. The Rock has lovely views to enjoy with a cocktail. The Cottage's view of the braai area is second.

Unit is very neat, but still needs finishing here and there. Really enjoyed being there, although the unit could not be locked, which made it safe and very peaceful. Spaarkamer's 2 single beds are very soft and uncomfortable for an adult person. Other than that, everything is beautiful.
We will absolutely book there again if we are in that part of the world again.
Cottage with you own space to enjoy a lovely farm. Explore the farm by foot or mtb bicycles or lovely route west past the game farm with plenty of game to be seen from the gravel road if you drive or pedal a 72 km loop as we did.

Umpukane is a peaceful picturesque place with friendly hosts. It was fun and definitely restful for the soul.
Our family of 6 (2 children and 2 babies) really enjoyed this breakaway. The weekend was too short to fit in everything. Next time we'll definitely come to explore the other hiking trails. The children really enjoyed the cold water by the pool. Hopefully next time we'll win the fish over too! We made great memories.
We took a chance and were surprised with the silence, scenery and hospitality of the people. Thank you Annelie - it was great. It is cold in the winter - so electric blankets and heaters were provided (which worked very well). A small oven would be a very good accessory for the houses - furthermore, the mountain climbing was particularly fun and gives you the opportunity to experience something outside in nature. Great option for the whole family.
It is a beautiful farm with a lovely view in all directions. There are many hills and mountains to climb, beautiful walking paths, a beautiful spring with clear water, green grass plains, willow trees swaying in the wind. The rustic farm atmosphere lends itself to complete relaxation. There are walking routes, jogging routes and climbing routes for the busy guys. Others can lie under a tree around the beautiful grass and read, draw or just lie and look at the clouds. For sure a must to return to nature and its healing effects on the soul. We came back rested.

The farm is beautiful, great stay! Heleen and Annerie made us feel very welcome. Unfortunately, you only have to drive a long way to catch fish or go swimming at the gorge. A swimming pool closer to chalets would certainly be a good addition.

The welcome we received was awesome, and Annelie really went out of her way to make us comfortable, and explain where we could go. That farm is kept in pristine condition. Wow!
