Lovely place to stay close to the water and safe.
Under Milkwood has always been a wonderful place to stay in Knysna. This is my 4th visit there. The reception was very efficient and friendly. Sitting on the veranda in the evening looking out over the lagoon was perfect.

Easily the highlight of our holiday. I am now saving to bring the whole family for a week.
At first disappointing due to building work continuously by our chalet, but we were then upgraded and moved, which was well handled, and had a fabulous stay.
Great location and units. Walking distance to the lagoon and nice places to eat. Try to get a unit with a braai, some only have Webers.

We would stay at Under Milkwood again anytime. We stayed in a Waterside unit, and it is definitely worth the extra money. The unit was clean, and well equipped. To go down just a few steps, and have feet in the lagoon, is wonderful!
We had booked the 14th Feb. forgetting it was Valentine's Day. To our surprise we were gifted with a welcoming Valentine's card, mugs and sweet treats which made our stay unforgettable. Chalet we stayed in was very comfortable and homey. Thank you for keeping us out the dark while loadshedding was on. We will be back for another stay.

The chalet for 4 people was really tiny, and as we had inadvertently booked a "middle" chalet, it was located in the middle of the parking lot, which was not great. However, it was fully equipped with Le Creuset, which was impressive!

Under Milkwood Chalets makes you feel pampered from the moment you arrive. The cottages are extremely well equipped with luxury Le Creuset pots, pans and all accessories. Beautiful view from our unit and friendly workers. Parking is a bit of a challenge but can work. Preferably go with a smaller vehicle.
We had the best stay here when traveling the Garden Route. They also left us champagne and chocolates with a card in the cottage to welcome us on our honeymoon. There are also free canoes and stand-up paddling boards to use. Thank you Under Milkwood Chalets. Highly recommended!
Perfect location and everything was good. The TV in the unit could perhaps be upgraded as it is very dated and the sound disappeared at times.

We were received very friendly, and in Afrikaans. Chalet was very neat and the middle chalet does not have a terrible view, but with the summer heat it was wonderfully cool under the trees. We were there for Valentine's Day and were treated to flowers, wine and chocolate. Staff very friendly and without us asking or complaining our large umbrella outside was replaced. You can sit by the water, which is about 8 meters away, or swim or row or whatever your heart desires.

The setting of the cottages is perfect - it has beautiful views over the lagoon and Knysna town. It is also surrounded by beautiful milkwood trees. Luckily heaters were provided for the cold winter evenings. Access to a private beach is also very nice.

Heerlike verblyf. Die chalet is klein, maar dit maak nie saak nie, want die water is tien treë van die voordeur af! Ons het heerlik gebly, geswem, gekajak, en my tiener, die ontluikende Gordon Ramsay, was uit sy vel oor die Le Creuset-kombuis.

A spacious chalet with all the amenities needed and close to all the places of interest.

I booked because I had already driven past Under Milkwood years ago and had always wanted to experience it. The reviews were very good and my fear was that expectations were created that would not be met. I was scared for nothing. The accommodation is really exceptional. I prefer the units upstairs near the road as they offer more privacy and the view was unbeatable. The unit was neat and clean and very well equipped. Never really saw staff but everything was cleaned and in their place which really made the experience of service a pleasure. I would recommend it anytime.

Would recommend Under Milkwood Chalets anytime. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The chalet was comfortably furnished and the Le Creuset kitchenware was definitely a bonus. Had an amazing view of the lake from the chalet deck, which was relaxing for a morning coffee and a glass of wine at sunset. Was also lovely to walk down to East Head Cafe for breakfast and lunch. Parking was a bit tricky, but overall we were very satisfied! Thanks Under Milkwood Chalets, will definitely visit again!
