Our stay was awesome. Everything was ready when we arrived. The owner was there and took us through the house. He also let us know that if we wanted to check in earlier, we were welcome. Big surprise was the milk tart and milk in the fridge. Everything you need is in the house. Silver clean and convenient.
The house was very neat and clean on arrival. All beds are equipped with electric blankets, which is a lifesaver here in winter. The town centre is an easy walk, so we did not make much use of our car. The house and kitchen are well-equipped with just about everything you could possibly need. Each bedroom has a private en suite bathroom with a toilet and shower.

The view is breathtaking, and the garden is beautiful with the most beautiful birds that come to visit every day! As a solo traveler, safety is very important to me. Not only is there secure parking for one's vehicle, but the unit itself is also very secure. It is within walking distance of many shops and restaurants. The owner, André, is incredibly friendly and makes you feel very much at home. I would recommend V'kansie Khaya to anyone!

We had a lovely time. The location is perfect with everything in walking distance from the cottage and it's very safe. We had a wonderful stay, it's peaceful and you have the most beautiful view of the mountains. There is a beautiful garden to relax in and on our arrival we received a nice treat in the fridge. On our arrival there was a lovely surprise in the kitchen to enjoy with the afternoon coffee. With two covered decks, we enjoyed hanging out outside - when we weren't walking or exploring the village - and enjoying the views. André, the owner, is extremely friendly and helpful.

Definitely deserves the "Best in Clarens" award for the top quality accommodation he offers, as well as for being one of the most friendly and caring hosts I have met in Clarens over the years. He is an inexhaustible source of information about the environment. The self-catering unit was equipped with every imaginable necessity, and more. The best description is luxury self-catering accommodation at a very competitive rate which certainly puts a variety of other guesthouses in Clarens that I have visited regularly since 1989 in the shade. V'Kansi Khaya is now definitely at the top of my list of accommodation choices in Clarens.

It was really a pleasure to be there. A well equipped unit. However, we caught it very badly with loadshedding. Both evenings from 18:00-22:30. Perhaps a gas stove and kettle would be a handy addition to the kitchen area? Thanks for the two battery lights. During our entire stay we did not once use the lights of the unit due to loadshedding (Hilarious but actually very sad! Thank you ESKOM!).
V'Kansi Khaya is perfect in every way. We went home in the Studio. Very clean and tidy, well equipped and has a beautiful view of the mountains. It is within walking distance of the square, as well as beautiful walking routes. Very highly recommended.

Towels supplied were very small and not pleasant to use. Needs to supply fitted sheets as loose sheets become tangled in the middle of the night and are very uncomfortable. The little town was packed with visitors as it was a long week-end. However our accommodation was peaceful and quiet and v'Kansi Khya perfect for our stay.
André's place is 12 out of 10! I don't know where to begin to describe how great everything was. I will never forget the nice smell we got when we first walked into the little house. It's the perfect distance to walk to the village and the best was the view we had on both sides. André really goes out of his way to make guests feel at home and it was clean and fresh. The porch has a nice table overlooking the mountains and the kitchen has a lovely sunny corner for an early morning cup of coffee while looking at the mountain. It was definitely the nicest place we have ever stayed in Clarens. The garden is beautiful, everywhere there was something cute to look at. From the old telephones to the painted tin signs. We woke up every morning to the call of a Piet-My-Vrou and the chirping and chattering around the nectar bottle. The view is very beautiful. Our unit looked out onto the mountain, with a private veranda that made morning coffee a pleasure. André is a very friendly man who makes you feel at home. He texted me after our return to see if we were home safe. This is special!

However, we recommend that the guest house pay attention to the curtains in the house. The strong lights shining from the neighboring houses had an impact on a peaceful dark night's sleep.

My wife and I had a great stay. All the facilities are clean, neat and beautiful. There are enough blankets for cold evenings, a little extra like coffee, tea, milk and biscuits. One bad point might be the shower head which is really not pleasant, but other than that you can't complain. We will call here again on a next visit.
A delightful little cottage, very clean and fairly comfortable. However, the double bed mattress felt like a waterbed and the two single beds were also not firm. The pillows are so soft and worn out whilst the sheets on the beds are not fitted and all over the place during the night. André should try some fitted sheets.

Andre, the owner, is very helpful with reference to arrangements and meeting one on arrival. The unit itself is sufficiently spacious to comfortably accommodate 4 people. Everything works, the unit even has a full bouquet on DStv. Location is no more than 500 m from the town square, an easy stroll! I can highly recommend this establishment for a 3 to 4 day visit in Clarens.

V`Kansi Khaya surpasses many accommodation in South Africa. I'm already so used to where I went on holiday, that at the previous places something is always missing, for example something that is broken, faulty and gone. Here one walks in without the need to get aspects up to standard.

I was taking my elderly father for a two day visit to Clarens and had specific needs for a holiday spot. V'Kansi Khaya was everything I could have hoped for. Beautiful decor, well thought out and practical accommodation with everything one could possibly need. Andre even took care of cold water and milk in the fridge.

Beautiful spacious room, with balcony in a quiet environment in Clarens. Hospitable reception. There is one self-catering stay, the only pity is that there are no possibilities for cooking, but one braai, no gas stove or oven.

The self-catering double room with the en-suite shower and toilet was redone recently and it's very neat. In terms of the self-catering aspect, the unit has everything you need, even a small Weber on the patio outside. The owner gave us a warm welcome. We could park our vehicle inside the property behind a locked gate. We were a bit worried, coming from the city, but we soon realised this is Clarens and not Johannesburg. The only negative comment is that the garden lights stream in through one of the high windows, so the room was a bit light for us. The place has a beautiful view of the mountains and it's within easy walking distance of shops and restaurants.

We were only there for 2 nights but V'Kansi Khaya is well-equipped to cater for a group of friends or even a family for an extended period of time - everything you might need from a washing machine to DStv and fresh towels and linen. It's close enough to the hub of Clarens so that everything is within walking distance and far enough so as not feel as if you're in the middle of a tourist destination. Top if off with an amazing view and super comfy beds, it would be hard to resist coming back.

What a fantastic place! Walking distance from the main town! The studio unit is very modern and private with a veranda overlooking the most beautiful mountains. The location is very central, just 2 minutes walk from shops and restaurants. Children loved their room and the TV let them catch up with sports! Everything was clean and in good condition. We will book our next holiday there again. Very nice view of mountains.

I spoke to Andre the owner and told him that we had recommended the accommodation to four of our friends while we were staying there. Words cannot describe the incredible views of the mountains, the luxury and cleanliness of the accommodation, the half tame rabbits roaming the streets and the gardens and the friendliness of the locals.
Our stay was extremely pleasant. We had a wonderful rest and relaxation in the peaceful and beautiful, clean and tidy apartment. The owner's service was of excellent quality. We would highly recommend this accommodation.

We stayed in the studio. It's very newly redone and everything is very neat and clean. The studio is spacious enough for two people with good privacy. Andre, the host, is also very pleasant and helpful. V'Kansi Khaya is also very well located and is walking distance from the main square so you don't even have to pull out your car and look for parking. We will definitely visit V'Kansi Khaya again!

There were biscuits, coffee, tea, milk, sugar, etc. provided. The unit is well furnished and very clean and tidy. It is walking distance from the town center with all the shops and many places to eat. The view from the balcony is beautiful and we enjoyed sitting there and enjoying the beautiful mountains. Andre Noeth received us and saw us off when we left and was very helpful during our stay. We would definitely like to stay there again.

Guests can also make use of the deck with weber braai area and double carport. Please note that there is no washing machine. The deck at the back of the chalet is only available if both units are booked.

Clarens is an artist’s haven and a growing artistic community has taken root here, drawn by the picturesque scenery and architecture. There are many art galleries and craft shops around the village square that offer visitors the chance to take home unique curios and original artworks. President Street has a more affordable collection of stores that offer everything from pottery to candles, and gift shops. The sandstone buildings are a defining feature of the village and add to the picturesque atmosphere. These architectural structures are both fantastic to photograph and cosy to stay in.
