49 guests' feedbackThe staff are so friendly and very competent in their tasks. The food at the 2 restaurants is very tasty. The only problem I have is that someone in the room next to us turned on the TV from 1 o'clock and the sound was loud. I called the after hours number at 2 o'clock. No one answered but immediately the TV was turned off. I suspect it is some of the night shift staff who came to stay there, because before 7 o'clock in the morning there were cupboards opened and closed again and then sudden silence again. So we didn't have a good night's rest.
It was the nicest treat for you. Everything was so beautiful and service was great. Hospitable and helpful. We will definitely see you again!

It was delicious. From the moment we got there, we were treated well and the staff is very kind and helpful. Everyone walks with a smile. They even offered to carry our bags to the room. Not good value for money. The shower was dirty with mould. At night, you have to walk far to access the rooms from the parking. The pool was green and slimy. Breakfast was less than average. The view and room were comfortable but not worth R2500?

Evans and his team were very accommodating with our unusual request. I was participating in an ultra-endurance event called the Munga, which is a 1130km, 5-day semi-supported journey through the Karoo at night from Bloem to Wellington. It was challenging to predict exactly when we would finish at Doolhof and arrive at Val du Charron, but we were in desperate need of sleep. I requested a family room so we had space for all of us (on Saturday and Sunday). My husband checked in on Saturday afternoon and our friend arrived at 7pm on Sunday night. He enjoyed a delicious supper and a good night's rest. The views are blissful - mana for the soul - and my husband and our friend enjoyed a hearty breakfast and the stunning scenery while waiting for my very late arrival at 1am on Monday morning. The breakfast was delicious and the rooms are well appointed and luxurious - everything the race wasn't! Thank you again to the staff and management of Val du Charron for a lovely stay. Was there in the lovely winter rainy season, room was cozy warm and very neatly laid out.
The bedding and towels had stains on them. The place in general wasn't particularly clean. There was no remote to change channels on the TV and we struggled with mosquitos all night. The staff was nice and rather kind but no one really seemed to fully know how to do things or what was going on. Breakfast was also average. Coffee order was wrong, had to remind the waitress to bring the toast (which was really just warmed bread). Doolhof down the road was a great stop for a wine tasting!
We enjoyed our stay. The bedrooms are clean and bed comfortable. Fireplace from the entrance exceeded my expectations. Enjoyed the food, the variety of menus but coffee was cold for me, if the cups can be warm to keep the heat other than that I have no critics. I will definitely be coming back for a swim because I didn't get a chance.
Breakfast was delicious, the room was fantastic and the staff was very helpful. Val du Charron Wine & Leisure Estate upgraded us to the Presidential Suite and I only booked a deluxe double room.

Rooms are spacious, clean and well equipped. Bathrooms are beautifully clean. You could order the breakfast from the menu and it was already included in the price. Dinner was extra, but worth every penny. Location is absolutely beautiful. They are very helpful with the different wines, especially if you are not a wine expert. Thank you very much.

The place was nice and peaceful and it feels good to wake up in the morning and stare at the beautiful mountains. The rooms were tidy, the service was good, really can't complain, even made friends with the dog on the estate.
Few amenities in my room were not working and I would have loved if there was coffee in my room, but other than that the location and staff were amazing.

There was a 50% discount promotion which made it possible for me to stay in a 5 star hotel. From the first "click" for enquiry, to the return and payment, everything was done very quickly and professionally. They answered all my questions quickly and efficiently and kept me informed the entire time. It was a pleasure working with them. After work we drove up to Val du Charron where Brandon received us very kindly. He explained everything quite clearly and took us to our room. The rooms are lovely large and fully equipped. The view is picturesque. The guest house is beautifully clean and quiet. Just what I asked for. I wanted a "rest" weekend and that's exactly what we received. The food was not too expensive and was very tasty. There is a delicious pizza restaurant with the most fantastic people working there. Have a good laugh with them. The people in the two restaurants and the management made our weekend an unforgettable one. I will definitely go back there again and also recommend. Great service, great food, great stay.
Just a note, I had 3 showers during my stay and only 1 was hot water. I'm not one to complain but I don't enjoy cold water at the best of times and being on my feet at work the whole day, a cold shower was not what I had in mind. Trust you understand.
We had an incredible stay at Val du Charron. Staff were friendly and accommodating, accommodations were clean, well kept and simply amazing. Dinner and breakfast were first class. Location is just perfect.
The room was perfect and clean. The service from all the staff was of a high standard and very friendly. The wine tasting was informative and good wines. The spa treatments from Beauty was superb. A well deserved weekend break.

We were accommodated in room 9, a large room with high half moon windows allowing a view of the mountain tops only when standing. Very comfortable bed, bathroom basic.
Although we really enjoyed the weekend and the area is very beautiful, there were many frustrations. Room door that can't lock from inside the room (all weekend), initially no fridge in room, no WiFi in room, shower head fell off. Check-in time according to the estate is only 14:00, but on the website 13:00. Everything was addressed when it was pointed out to them, but I expect better from a 4 star accommodation.
Cleanliness needs updating! Staff need to be trained more! Covid19 regulations must be applied.

I would not recommend this place to anyone at all. The staff was not at all trained to manage this place which actually has so much potential. It was dirty. The reception was messy. The management was untidy. No, no, no. Sorry I wasted my money.

I just went for the half marathon and it's a very nice place to stay. The rooms in the "Coach House" are beautiful. I think they might just have to do something about the mosquitoes because there are hundreds of them. Maybe burning citronella candles or something.

The second time I stayed at Val du Charron was ─ if possible ─ an even greater pleasure than the first time. From the warm welcome to the help with a road map, everything was top class. The dinner, award-winning wine, well-tended grounds and unbeatable location once again contributed to great satisfaction.
Very nice venue, but the room was not up to standard. There were cobwebs and insects in the room. Breakfast was also not up to standard.
