I phoned a month before our stay to ask for early check in , and was assured that it would be no problem. When we arrived, I was told that check in is only from 14h00. I told the receptionist that I had phone and organised an early check in. She did put some effort into finding us a room that was ready, but it was not the same standard of room as our original room. A very disappointing stay.
The first room was dark. Moved to a supposed upmarket room. One small towel for drying two of us, no water, just an empty jug. Place in dire need of TLC. Breakfast was poor.
Stayed for a wedding nearby. Comfortable and pleasant stay.

The grounds are clean and so peaceful. The room was beautiful, neat and clean. The service received was friendly and helpful. The generator came in handy. The only complaint was our noisy neighbors who had no consideration for others at 2 in the morning.
Very neat and safe accommodation a stone's throw from Lanseria airport. The rooms are clean and spacious and the staff friendly and helpful.
Apparently the shower in the room they initially offered us was faulty - it had been mentioned to them by someone else. We were moved to another room which was wonderfully spacious with a comfortable bed, table, chairs and sitting area. The room overlooked the pool and since it was raining, we were able to hang out in the room and use room service with great ease.
Great for a break away for a weekend. Close to cycling trails, shopping malls and airport for domestic flights.

We stayed at Valverde Country Hotel mainly for its location close to family with whom we planned to spend Christmas Day. Our day was quite full and was planned around having breakfast at the hotel before setting off for the day. Unfortunately, when we arrived at breakfast, there was no space for us. The staff merely shrugged their shoulders and said we must come again later, which clearly did not suit us. If 20 guests stay the night, then there should at least be 20 places in the restaurant for breakfast. This upset us, and next time we visit, we will certainly look elsewhere.

The rooms lack the feeling of being maintained with attention to any detail or feeling of comfort - uncomfortable beds, basic lack of cleanliness, amenities not replaced from night to night etc. Gardens are nice, but pool very murky etc. Staff were friendly and helpful and did what they could to keep things running. Considering this was the most expensive hotel we had during our entire trip to South Africa, we would have expected much more.
Bathroom needs attention in several places. Shower's bottom sloppily sealed, heels and towel arrangements. Hot water takes more than 5 minutes to reach the taps. Bedding shaved and holes burned in 2 places. Curtains are dirty. Two single beds pushed together with fitted sheets to form a double bed. Only one side of the bed had an electric blanket. Other electric blanket was on the detached single bed.
The breakfasts were delicious and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Thank you very much. Facilities a bit neglected, but I believe this is due to the COVID restrictions.
There was a problem with hot water. The staff came to repair it.
We just stayed overnight for a wedding in the area. The walls are paper thin so we heard the staff preparing and talking from early morning, so sleeping in is not an option. The breakfast was a bit of a 'let down' - the buffet trays were empty when we arrived just after 9 and they serve breakfast until 10 o'clock. We took the last bit in the bowls that were left and guests after us had to wait again to be able to scoop, unfortunately the food was also cold. Furthermore, the garden is very beautiful, and the staff very friendly.
Lots of noise from the morning just after 5. Only lukewarm hot water and pressure was very weak. There was even no hot water.
No hot water, shower door broken and couldn't close. Food that was ordered was inedible. Outside door of room could not lock.

We were attending a wedding at the venue next door so it worked so well not to have to drive far in the evening. We could have breakfast at the venue. There are also spa options with a therapist which was excellent.
The breakfast was delicious. The reception with inbook on Saturday was very friendly, on Sunday there was no one. I think the owner or someone was hanging out with the cyclists and came running when I had questions. On booking out, there was no one, no power and another couple standing around looking confused. Just put down key and walked. No hot water, just washed my face and showered at home instead. Sunday morning the power dipped every 20 min. Cyclists are "welcomed" as a halfway house for their route, so getting out of the venue was just a mess. Cyclists are all over the place, not making way for you (in your car) to get out.
We only used the room and breakfast, none of the other facilities. The room was clean, but very old facilities. The shower was unpleasant, never really hot water. We feel for the same money we could have found a much better room in the same area. The breakfast was disappointing, we could have made something much better at our own home.
Old, shabby, not well maintained. Bedding old. Not well maintained. Not clean. Ceiling fan turned on and dust blew the whole room. Five o'clock in the morning decided to hit the road.
Restaurant not up to standard at all, poor service and accommodation not value for money at all. Buildings are neglected. Couldn't even watch rugby, due to no DStv or big screen.

Valverde Eco Hotel, was so welcoming, from breakfast to beautiful garden, the staff was so helpful. Very peaceful with clean linen. Whether you want to host picnic, wedding, family gathering, or ladies outing, it is a perfect place. We really enjoyed our stay.
The property is truly beautiful and the service is amazing and personal. Just 2 words of advice, try not to stay the night there is a wedding as you will be woken in the middle of the night by the music and attendees. I was woken at 00:45 am and the noise went on until 03:00 am. I did bring it to the hotel's attention the next morning and they did apologise for the inconvenience. Also, try to stay in the rooms towards the back of the property rather than those the same side as the road as you can hear the traffic coming and going.
The first time we booked and spent time at Valverde Country Hotel was great. Room which is clean and tidy, close to restaurant and also close to vehicle parking area. Had a nice meal in restaurant and the chef and bartender very hospitable and friendly. But the second time (December 18, 2020) we were very disappointed! We booked for 2 nights, of which we could only spend one night (the Friday night) because there was a wedding and someone gave our 2nd night's accommodation to another guest. Just like last time, we asked for ground floor and near restaurant and parking area because my husband had back surgery and can't walk far. We were put in a room which was very far from restaurant and parking area. No help of any kind (porter) to help with the luggage to get to the room. Vehicle could also not be stopped closer to unload luggage. Very poor service. Flies - a multitude of flies that were everywhere. It was terrible! Restaurant tables were dirty and sticky. Even the salt and pepper shakers on the table were sticky. There were even flies at the food that was put out for breakfast. The fruit breakfast, slices of watermelon, melon was sour, left over and flies everywhere. Tables where guests had already sat and eaten were not cleaned. People were standing around looking for a place to eat their breakfast. What I am passing on now is the truth. Compared to the first time we stayed there - very disappointed! And we spoke quite highly of the place with our children and recommended it to everyone looking for accommodation near Lanseria Airport with our first stay. My husband pretty much said that when we get home we should pass on this disappointment to the website that reserved accommodation. Clearly the owner was on holiday and the manager didn't have his hands on the venue properly.
I will not recommend the accommodation to anyone. We found a bug "kakkerlak" in the bathroom that put us off a bit. The mat in front of the bed was a bit sandy, which tells me it was not properly swept. This raises some issues related to housekeeping. In addition, the chairs at the table were worn out and not exactly in the best condition. Moreover, the wall paint in the shower was scratched or torn off. Is this place value for money. I don't think so. Also the unit where we stayed at had no Dstv package. Which is pretty much a standard these days. If you are happy with SABC and OVD then you'll be right at home. When we arrived at the reception area we were told to sanitize and then we were taken to our room. However, we were not made aware of any services or facilities the place has to offer, nor were we told about a restaurant at the location that serves breakfast (a la cart or buffet). Our experience at the place was bad and it was underwhelming to be honest.
This is a gem of a place! Such outstanding value for money - comfortable and spacious room and delicious breakfast included. We were treated like VIP's from checking in until we left. We will definitely be back!
The place is wonderful and serene. My family and I enjoyed our stay. The rooms are very clean and immaculate and had everything we needed. The staff at the restaurant was very friendly and made us feel welcomed. When we arrived, the receptionist was not particularly friendly. She even asked me if I had already paid, I thought that information was supposed to be on the system. We had to find the information ourselves of what the hotel has to offer. That was a bit disappointing. Also, there were people in other rooms which were up the whole night and we could hear their noise. That was very disappointing.
Food was very good, but rooms need urgent attention. Faucets turn on and then don't close. Shower does not have hot water, tiles cut feet, garden is in poor condition, terrible noise throughout the night, guests who come in late make noise.
We were so kindly received. The room is very neat. The dinner at the restaurant and breakfast the following morning was very tasty. We enjoyed it very much.

Was very nice and comfortable, any problems were quickly and kindly sorted out. So loved it if there was a bar for a nightcap.
The gardens are very ramshackle - children's play area looks awful and gives the place a forsaken feel.
The delicious breakfast the next morning was a surprise - and it was included in the price. Great place to sleep over at.
Room was beautiful and tidy although there was dust on the furniture. There is so much noise when you want to sleep and as soon as you fall asleep and want to lie down a little late it is the people getting ready for the next function that wakes you up from talking to pushing things around. The breakfast was very simple and nothing special. I also made inquiries at the "spa" the communication is very slow or no answer, at the end of the day just left it. Beautiful place but will not stay overnight or make inquiries at the "spa" again.
Our room was very hot with a ceiling fan that only has one slow setting. The parking is very far from the rooms and no one helps to carry your luggage. We waited a long time at reception before someone came to help us.
Although the rooms were clean they were old and tired. Bathroom was clean but from the 80's. A dog was scratching and whining at our door from 04:00 in the morning. Garden also appeared very neglected.
Stayed there for a night and had a very nice stay even though the room was not ready when we wanted to check in. Furthermore, we enjoyed everything.
Excellent value for money set in beautiful gardens. Accommodation was clean and tidy, and the staff very friendly and helpful with requests to make staying with young children more comfortable. The on-site restaurant provides good quality food and is affordable while the buffet breakfast caters for every need. Whether you are traveling for business, or looking to get away for a weekend with a loved one, Valverde will not disappoint.

The room was really hot, without any air conditioning or fans. The bathroom and specifically the sink, was dirty and stuffy as there was no exhaust fan either. The owner was terribly unfit and at times even pushed in front of guests during the evening's wine tasting session. Valverde praises themselves for being eco-friendly, but allows loud music to be played until late at night. After the music stops, the guards start chatting loudly with co-workers who are surely on their way home. I would not stay there again myself or advise anyone to stay there
They were friendly and made it very romantic for me and my husband. Will visit again in the future.
Ruth at reception phoned the morning before we checked in to make sure we are on our way and that the shuttle would be at the airport on time. Fundeli the shuttle driver is so friendly and drives very safe. Neil the chef is briljant !!!! Also thanks to Babara for your friendliness.
