Very nice and spacious.
This house has everything needed for a comfortable, relaxing stay. Two wonderful indoor fireplaces, plenty of seating areas, beautiful and spacious bathrooms, clean and set up to minimise the inconvenience of load-shedding, with emergency lights and a gas stove. Kitchen is well appointed, with a coffee maker and sandwich press provided, over and above the basics. Highly recommend!
We just want to say thank you for the fantastic accommodation. The house is lovely. Thank you for the good reception, and the fireplace that was already burning makes it extra special. We will definitely come back.
I would recommend Van de Poll home to anyone. The house is beautiful, spacious, clean and with a lovely large sitting area and fireplaces. It is very well equipped, with everything one needs. Walking distance from the town as well as the dam, makes it perfect! We had a wonderful time and will not book another house on Dullstroom again. Absolutely fantastic.

We enjoyed it very much. Rooms and bathrooms are spacious and tidy. Bathrooms only have a curtain for privacy. Large garden for children and dogs. It works well that the visiting area is separate from the rooms and can be closed with a door for those who want to crawl in early. I will definitely stay there again. It is close to the main street and places to eat.
Our stay was marred unfortunately by a fall my wife had during loadshedding at the downstep leading from the lounge/dining room to the north bedroom wing. It was evening and without any light initially other than the Maglights, the yellow reflective strip could not be seen and she fell headlong into the lower passage. She had severe bruising to her head and right knee which spoilt much of the rest of our trip and from which she is only now recovering. I would like to suggest putting up a handrail, albeit quite short, which could serve as a warning in the dark.
The location was clean, and it had everything that we needed. Well kitted home!

We had a short, but good stay at Van de Poll Huis. Sufficient space for everyone and the dogs and very useful that all rooms had bathrooms. Would recommend adding some fans to the house.
The Van De Poll home is definitely one of the best overnight options in Dullstroom, the home is very spacious, neat and clean. Erna also sent a detailed email in advance with all the information needed to ensure a pleasant stay.

We and our adult children really enjoyed the Van de Poll Huis as accommodation. Everything and more that was available in the house. Luxurious rooms and bathrooms, nice big kitchen, and fantastic relaxation, dining and socializing room. The fact that you can walk to town was an absolute bonus. Would recommend anyone to book there. The house is spacious enough that you don't feel in each other's way. There is a lovely living area with a fireplace. The set up is so thoughtful. We thoroughly enjoyed staying in a house that felt just like home. Bedrooms and bathrooms are large and warm. Kitchen is cozy and well-equipped. Outside area is neat and sunny. Being close to town can be a little noisy at night, but is so wonderfully convenient for a stroll into town.
We had a lovely weekend! Saturday was cold and rainy, so we didn't go into town. The open plan living area was great, so we could have a great time next to the fireplace! Extra family visited with us and so during the day we were 7 adults and 5 children between 2 and 10 years old. The house never felt too small for everyone. There was a place for everyone! Erna was very helpful in arranging the extra wood for the fireplace. The electric blankets were a "life saver". Each en-suite bathroom is spacious and has a bath and shower. We will definitely visit the Van de Poll Huis again!

It really is a beautiful, clean place and we've had a great stay. Our host, Erna, was very kind and she went out of her way to accommodate us.
We had a lovely stay at Van de Poll house. The house is beautifully decorated, with a welcoming atmosphere. The only thing we struggled with is the shower in the first room on the left. We think the lever might be faulty where you have to change it from the tap (which did not make sense in the shower) to the shower head at the top. They might want to check that. Otherwise, everything was lovely.

From the moment the reservation was made until we got out the service was incredible. The house is wonderfully located for a visit in the town, and is comfortable for 8 people. Even the dogs loved the yard and the house!
We could choose our own room with a lovely warm duvet, electric blankets and a heater against the wall. Place is centrally located, we could walk to town. We just needed it to sleep over, so we didn't really use the kitchen, but it was well-equipped.
We were 2 families of 4 each staying there. Interior incredibly luxurious and warmly furnished. Could have a nice visit, with 2 lovely, separate places to visit (kids could visit separately). No complaints. Village was without water and still we had water, initially expected worst! Thank you very much, will definitely come and stay again!

We were 4 people, but the house will easily accommodate 8 people. The 4 en suite rooms are a big plus. The kitchen is excellently equipped. The house is a comfortable walking distance from the village. In short: a hit.
I would refer Van de Poll Huis to anyone and would come back in the future, the only thing that was noticed immediately was the fire place that was closed up on the kitchen side, that was something on the site that drew our attention to the house. Other than that it was home away from home.
We were 4 families that went to Dullstroom. Was a very cute place, peaceful environment and big enough plot to have a great time. Fully equipped with everything you need and more. They could maybe give an extra black bag for the bin in the house.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Van de Poll Huis. It was spacious and well equipped and suited our needs perfectly. I have only one complaint, which is the hot water. There are 4 bathrooms, beautifully equipped but no hot water. The gas geysers do not seem a suitable option as our water was lukewarm for our entire stay. Winter in Dullstroom definitely needs hot water.
We were very impressed with the beautiful house and all the facilities available. The bathrooms were fantastic and the kitchen was very well equipped. The wire mesh around was ideal so we could take our dogs with us and they really enjoyed it. All negative was that there was no insect poison in the house, but the shops are so close that we quickly sorted it out.

We had a very nice stay. The house is an antique house that has been nicely restored and has all the amenities needed in the cold Dullstroom. The owners responded very quickly every time we contacted them.
The house is beautiful and we really enjoyed our stay there tremendously. The only small niggle we had was about the warm water. The warm water runs out pretty quick in the showers leaving you a little cold and soapy.

Van de Poll House is superbly located and comfortably and durable furnished. The fireplace and tranquility without TV is wonderful.
Fireplace doesn't work, and Dullstroom gets quite cold, so fireplace is a must. The smoke always enters the house and smokes you out. Perfect location can walk everywhere. No anti-theft protection, so you don't feel too safe.
The owners are working on a reception area and the outside door was not hung properly, so unfortunately we broke it. They were very helpful in getting it fixed so I hope they put a decent door on because anyone can take that one out with a shoulder. The accommodation was very comfortable and the location really fantastic. We walked everywhere.

We had a great long weekend at the Van de Poll Huis. 4 Bedrooms with own bathrooms which made holiday with friend so nice, since every couple had the necessary privacy. The house is well equipped and full of character, but unfinished. Large area at the back still under construction and half finished. And there were ditches everywhere because some work was being done on waterpipes - they only told us about it on the day we arrived, and we found it strange that the house was for rent at the normal tariffs while construction was being done.
Beautiful place, stunning interior and front garden. No signage and poor directions made it difficult to find at first! Unfortunately although "pet friendly" it was not pet safe! Flimsy fence with massive gaping holes in the fence allowed other dogs to enter the yard. Very aggressive rottweiler next door. Dogs could not be left outside without fear of either them escaping the yard or the rotti breaking through to fight with them.
