We stayed 1 night at Vastrap on our way from SA to Swakopmund. We didn't get there until about half past 9 in the evening after a long drive from George. Thanks to the prevailing cold fronts, it was freezing cold and we just wanted to get to our room as soon as possible. Despite the time, someone waited for us and took us to the chalet where a delicious meal was stored in the fridge for us. After a nice hot shower we slept wonderfully. The next morning, after a very nice breakfast, we ventured on the long road. Many thanks to Hettie and her team.

Unfortunately there was only 1 knife, 1 fork and 1 spoon when we wanted to have our own dinner, but we quickly took out our own hiking equipment and had a great time with a nice view of the plains.

We were amazed at the excellent restaurant, meals and service from the staff. Absolutely first-world.
We were warmly received and in no time the most delicious salad, mouth-watering barbecue sandwiches and the best barbecue meat were served to us. The apartment is clean, tidy and well maintained. The hands smell so fresh and so do the linen. We will definitely stay here again. You won't go wrong booking here.

Vastrap is such a beautiful place and so well looked after. The antiquities are very interesting. We had the best Christmas with Hettie and her family. I would recommend Vastrap anytime. Thank you very much!
Upon arrival, immediate attention was given to us. We were shown to our rooms and arrangements were taken for our evening meals. Asked for our breakfast arrangements but as we were intending to leave early, none was required. The evening meal however was of exceptional standard and the service was of a high regard. Arrangements for additional foods ('padkos') was made and this was collected upon settling of the account.

We were a group of 5. Dinner and breakfast were top notch! Hettie and her team looked after us very well. Room facilities were impeccable. A lot of detail and a lot of care in the facilities and looking after guests. We can definitely recommend it. The location was perfect - we started hiking the Fish River Canyon the next day.
Excellent rooms and linen. The owner went out of her way to accommodate us. We were upgraded to a better room with an indoor braai for free just because the wind was cold!
Unfortunately there was a positive Covid 19 case at the SA border which delayed our travel plans by approximately 8 hours. The result was that we only arrived at Vastrap just before 10 that evening. The reception was clearly very annoyed and from the outset without a proper greeting insinuated that we had not paid yet. I confirmed that I had already paid but without even looking at my proof of payment she continued that I still owed her money. When I later shoved the proof under her nose she mumbled something about she thought we had booked through another platform and without apologizing directed us to the rooms. What a surprise. The rooms were spacious, spotlessly clean and very well equipped for all our needs. With a friendly welcome, I will book there again anytime. However, the poor reception made me feel like a fraud and left a bitter taste in my mouth.
The farm is conveniently close to the main road but without the road noise. The food is delicious. The accommodation is clean, tidy and adequate. The staff very friendly.
Reception was very friendly. We immediately felt at home. Accommodation was very comfortable and experience at restaurant was fantastic. Food was excellent! The stars on the farm were an experience!
It's our second overnight stay at Vastrap and we will stay there again every time we travel to Namibia. We enjoy the surroundings, hospitality, overnight accommodation and delicious meals.
Excellent service. Friendly and hospitable. Room was nice and big and baby could crawl around and play in the unit. Neat and clean.

The facilities could be slightly upgraded in relation to eg kitchenware in self-catering unit. We were received by a little lady who could provide little information; we did not meet the owners at all during the 2 night stay period. When asked about the menu for dinner, her short answer was cooking food (R180 pp). The price for breakfast was also slightly expensive (R150 pp). However, we enjoyed the braai in our own place, as well as our homemade breakfast. Overall, the visit was pleasant, but we missed some personal attention!
Die plek was skoon, maar kan beter, dit sê daar is WiFi, maar geen WiFi-opvangs, die swembad het nie water in nie. Vir die geldwaarde kan hulle beslis verbeter.
This is the second time we have stayed at Vastrap Guest Farm and I would recommend it to anyone. The food is delicious! Had dinner as well as breakfast there. The service is excellent.
A farm area with hospitable people who receive you in a very friendly manner. You can make yourself comfortable after a long ride in front of a fireplace with some sherry to relax before dinner. Dinner is traditionally prepared and we highly recommend it. Venison pie, braai ribs, green beans, malva pudding and more.
All staff very friendly and helpful. Really very clean and tidy. Delicious dinner and breakfast. Would stay there again anytime. Value for money.
