68 guests' feedbackFantastic. Beautiful clean place. Quiet, fantastic place to stay. Safe and everything you need. Extremely neat and clean. Very nice view. The outside hot tub was nice relaxation. We could have a nice walk on the farm. We had a good rest and would recommend the place to anyone.
Was a great experience staying at Geluk on Vergenoegd Farm.
A perfect getaway from normal city life.
The view of the mountains while sitting on the stoep or in the hot tub was just what we needed. Loved the tranquility.
Incredibly beautiful location and very peaceful. The house is neat and has everything you could need. The Kol-kol hot tub is a treat and the walk up the river feels like another world, it's so beautiful. Service is also excellent.
Had a lovely stay with my son and dog. Very neat cottage with lots of nice touches and plenty of firewood. Hot tub was a highlight and got very hot, which was great. Beautiful serene hike down to the river. Conveniently close to Worcester.
Geluk was the ideal getaway from Cape Town for a few days. The working farm with fruit trees in blossom and healthy-looking vines was lovely, surrounded by majestic mountains and beautiful rivers. We spent our few days walking up the river; some of the paths have been damaged in the winter storms. Swimming in the pools was a real treat. The wood-fired hot tub was a treat to enjoy after a long walk, especially with a glass in hand looking up at the stars. Provided several extras which were well received.
We enjoyed the nature, sound of the rain and wind. I would recommend this to anyone who is looking to get away from a busy lifestyle.
We arrived and found the hot tub filthy with a thick layer of sand on the seats and floor, with no way to clean the hot tub without having to completely empty the tub, clean the tub and refill it with clean water. The drinking glasses were filthy; we had to first wash all the glasses before we could drink out of them. The crockery was all mismatched as if something had been broken and replaced with something completely different, not even tried to replace with something similar. For the price paid for the unit, one would expect WiFi.
Our stay on the farm was very nice. It's quite satisfying to get away from all the noise. Sometimes you just have to turn off the music for a while and take in the silence and unwind. The hot tub was awesome and warms up nicely. Place was neat and comfortable for 2 people and 2 dogs.
The farm is a wonderful place to explore and stay. The wine was delicious, the pears amazing, the grapes scrumptious, and the location divine. But best of all was their hospitality, and the way you helped us coming over from the UK was amazing. Helping us secure the perfect taxi company (Woeber), bringing us wood for braais and the hot tub. Always understanding and great with our girls. No hidden fees and no problem too big to solve. Thank you so much and I hope others get to enjoy this stunning location.
We enjoyed our stay at Vergenoegd Farm very much. The hot tub together with the beautiful views was the best part. I'll recommend this place if you are looking for a relaxed breakaway. The kitchen is very well equipped which means that you don't have to pack a lot.
Our stay was just amazing! Could relax and be easy chilled. Loved the fact that there was no television or WiFi. Could reflect and just soak up nature in all its glory. Would definitely recommend Geluk on Vergenoegd Farm.
The location of the Farm is spectacular! Very secluded and in the most scenic part of the country. The cottage itself is well equipped and very clean. Sharon, the owner, is extremely helpful and friendly. I would however say it is better suited to a short stay of 2-3 days than anything longer than that. To make it more suitable for longer stays it desperately needs a place where the family can sit indoors in the evenings (there is no lounge area). It's very awkward to only have the beds to sit on or to sit at the kitchen table in the evenings. A working stove and oven is also needed. The stove provided was inadequate. Those are my two suggestions for improvement, but other than that the place is recommended.
Small, secluded and private. Effective for an evening or two's getaway or overnight stay. An extra emergency light or 2 would be recommended as load shedding is a reality.
The place was wonderful.
A little gem and the owner was really friendly and helpful. Anyone looking to get away from the busy city life will enjoy this place.
Setting great, mountain views and close to Worcester.
Cozy accommodation in picturesque surroundings.
Had a great time, cycling and relaxing in the hot tub.
We really enjoyed our stay.
The farm is great with lots to explore if you're willing to traverse some mildly rough roads to get there. The hot tub was great and the scenery serene.
Beautiful hiking trail, Jan S. du Toit trail. Very neat cottages with remarkable views. Perfect getaway, under an hour's drive from Cape Town.
The view from Serenity is beautiful. The accommodation is lovely, private and spacious. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
The cottage was lovely. More than expected and pleasantly so. Will definitely go back. A wonderful break from city life.

Took our 2 pups with us and they had a splendid time down by the river and around the cottage and vines. Lovely place to just unwind.
Beautiful scenery. House well equipped. Everything you need. Thank you for permission to check out nice and late.
The chalet is very neat, clean and well equipped. Vergenoegd Plaas is located in a very peaceful, quiet environment. The owner, Sharon, was very hospitable and made us feel very welcome. When we arrived there were biscuits, coffee, milk and eggs in the kitchen. Had a great stay and can recommend it.
Perfect spot to break away from the today's fast paced world. With (almost) no mobile phone signal, a kol-kol tub, and mountain views in your backyard, you're sure to get some rest. Plenty of wine farms in a 15 km radius, for those seeking to explore some more. Although a built-in braai is available inside the house, it doesn't ventilate well. A small fireplace would be a great addition in the bedroom for those winter nights.
Great place to regather yourself. Lekker hot tub and braai. Completely private, fun trails to explore, and a crystal clear night sky. Regular shooting stars!
Satisfied was just what we needed, far away from the busy city. We appreciated the fresh air, exceptional view, river, sunset and friendly host as well as the cycle routes around the farm. Will visit again!
Lovely place. Beautiful mountains and hot tub! Definitely worth a visit!
Had a very peaceful weekend. Was very nice, thank you.
The cottages are far apart allowing a lot of privacy, the view was gorgeous.
Perfect! Such friendly reception! Place was clean and neat. Can recommend this place 100%.
We only struggled with the fire in the house, getting the smoke out of the house. But the rest of the stay was great.
Excellent and picturesque location. Friendly host (Sharon) who goes the extra mile for her guests. Would definitely suggest to anyone looking for quiet and natural beauty. Even our dog enjoyed the space.
It was a nice stay a short drive from Cape Town. It was relaxing and it was a clean place on a fruit farm.
We had a fantastic stay at Vergenoegd. Accommodation is fantastic with lots to do on the farm and the surrounding area. Sharon is a fantastic host. We will be back!
Extremely friendly hostess Sharon.
Nice walking route to the river with dogs as well as cycling routes. Braai area by the river with swimming area. Perfect for a quiet, relaxing weekend.
The actual accommodation space was perfectly spacious and super comfy, with enough room inside and on the veranda to not feel cramped. We were made to feel incredibly welcome and clued up about how to get to close-by gems. The nearby stream and fire pit below a tree-covered canopy was a definite highlight to our trip when we went exploring on an adventure drive/walk.
Wonderful stay in nature with a beautiful view of the mountains. Accommodation is clean, tidy with more than you need.
Very nice stay, well equipped and very tidy.
A cosy cabin for 2 people and just some two suggestions to do with ergonomics in the kitchen and the fire place. The small stove is is jammed below the microwave cabinet and space is a bit tight, this can be improved. For cold winter cabin fires I am afraid the fireplace design is not okay, the chimney is too low and straight up with a lot of smoke in the cabin and not drafting properly. I suggest extending the chimney by at least 2 meters and also improve the top of the firebox by staggering the chimney inlet to the back to prevent all the heat escaping straight out the top. That's really the only "negatives" I have, the rest was great since you come here for the peace and quite and the magnificent views.
We really enjoyed our three day stay. Our host was very accommodating, and super friendly. Just what we needed to charge our batteries.
See stars.
Peaceful stay in comfortable accommodation, most beautiful view.
Tiny space, a bit boxed in and therefore little access to views on vineyards/mountains. Windy location, therefore necessary to spend time inside, but the cottage is very small. Not the best value for money, though the host is friendly, the cottage is clean and tidy and the region beautiful.
What a fantastic weekend. The owner, Sharon, is incredibly helpful. Sharon let us in earlier which helped us a lot. The best value for money and the nicest place ever.
We really enjoyed the tranquillity of the farm. I loved all the animal sounds around me. The house was so cute. Very neat and tidy. Sharon was also very helpful with everything. We will definitely go visit them again.
Lovely location, nature, mountains, river. Delicious self-catering cottages equipped with barbecue equipment. Sleep well, silence.
A nice and quiet place to get a good rest.
Communication was clear, and everything I needed was available. The facilities were neat and clean and I felt welcome and at home.
We had to be in Worcester for business, but wanted to combine it with some peace and quiet time in nature. This was absolutely the best spot to choose, no TV, no internet, just time to reflect and relax. Our walk to the river was an absolute surprise, the beauty of the rocks and the clear water was just a treasure! Thank you for sharing your farm with the stadsjapies!
The place is perfectly located between the driftwoods and has an incredibly beautiful view of the mountains of Worcester. I would only recommend an aircon in the unit.
It was a very nice weekend. My wife and I had a lovely time in the tranquility of the farm surroundings. The fact that there is no TV is a big bonus. It is very quiet and peaceful there and you can walk around in the fields etc.
It was very comfortable to find, Sharon was helpful and friendly. The kitchen was not so hygienically clean, a bit of a smell when we unlocked that hung in the house. Room was neat and bathroom was clean. Would recommend that more attention be paid to the water and cleanliness of the kitchen. Otherwise everything was fine.
Had a nice rest and away from any noise. So delicious.
This was the perfect place to relax and unwind. The fur kids just loved the beautiful open spaces and we loved the magnificent views and peaceful environment!
Service was of the highest quality. Really enjoyed it there. Will go again.
We enjoyed our stay at Vergenoegd. It is the perfect place to spend an “unplugged” weekend without the interference of technology and daily interruptions. Very neat and situated between mountains, vineyards and orchards.
Ideally and safely located near town in a very peaceful environment with a nice view of the mountains. Everything goes as shown on advertisement.
This house was very comfortable and very tidy. However, there was a problem with the water pressure, so the nice hot shower in the cold that we were looking forward to was a disappointment. It was also very inconvenient (for us and him) to call the farm manager every time we wanted to enter/exit the farm. Why don't you just give tenants a remote control for the gate? We were only here for one night, and did not cook, so the kitchen facilities were adequate. If you're staying for a weekend or longer, bring everything with you, because the kitchen only has the absolute essentials. Despite the above, we stayed very comfortably and enjoyed walking around the farm and even cycling. The cottage is perfect for a no-frills country farm visit.
Very accommodating hostess.
Toilet and sink in bathroom did not have water supply. Will not go back. After several requests, no response was taken to correct the water situation. She promised the farm manager would come and sort it out the same afternoon we arrived. A farm worker was sent who could not solve the problem. We booked 2 nights. Farm manager never showed up. Sharon (manager) just laughed at this and was well aware of the water problem. We had to carry water in the kitchen trash to the toilet for use. Sharon then placed the blame on us as guests for not complaining enough! Very weak. A place may not be rented out at all if the toilet is not even in working order! She simply does not respond to calls, messages or emails.
