As Verlatenkloof is also a working farm, guests are free to walk on the farm and also follow the sheep trail right to the top of the mountain where guests can enjoy the wonderful views of rolling hills. In the evenings the stars are spectacular, while tours to SALT, an acronym for Southern African Large Telescope, can be arranged by the host.
Nearby activities include bird watching, hiking and cycling.

Be more attentive to housekeeping. Some of the dishes in the cupboard were not clean. No broom or mop. Other than that, no problem.
We had such a nice stay at Verlatenkloof, the owners' daughter-in-law was so friendly and helpful. The paddock on the farm will keep you busy and your wallets empty, they have the most beautiful things because I haven't seen them in other places. Thank you very much Verlatenkloof for the nice stay, we will definitely be back.
Even though Verlatenheidskloof is 'off the grid' there were no problems. The place was neat. The night sky was amazing with all the lights off. Could see Mars with the naked eye and millions of stars as well as 3 satellites. Alta was very friendly and even gave me salad from her fridge. Recommend.
Verlatenkloof is a peaceful overnight stop between the beautiful mountains. Friendly and hospitable!
Very nice stay. Would've just appreciated a table with chairs. Games a bit hard on lap. Beautiful farmstall with delicious products. Venison pies were excellent!
Awesome location. Extremely friendly hosts. We had some hot water issues but everything ells made up for it. I will see them again soon.

We were lucky to find this cottage on a farm so close to Sutherland at short notice. The house was clean and comfortable enough.
Lovely accommodation. Little house was clean and equipped with everything. Staff and owners were friendly and helpful.
Could go for lovely walks on the farm and in the mountain. The people on the farm are also very pleasant. It was a good, relaxing and comfortable two days.
