26 guests' feedbackOur room had the same key as the front entrance. All guests had access to my room. Alongside the main road, and homeless people in front of the hotel. I booked a room with two beds. The guys at the reception interrogated me as to why I wanted that type of room as "Your partner and you look like a couple why two beds?" These types of questions are invasive and insulting. He had no excuse or apology as to why the guest's front door keys could access my room. Worst place ever.
Had to pay r400 more.
There was always someone available in case we had questions and was very hospitable.
There was a huge crowd of people on the hotel's porch drinking swearing and fighting until 4 am the hotel management just let it go we slept from 4 am to 7 am when we had to drive on never again!
Room does not have its own bathroom. Microwave in the room would be a plus.
Centrally located, could walk to eateries and shops. Clean, tidy and very friendly staff.
Touring with a big family and small budget is very challenging. By staying at Victoria it was possible to visit more places. The owners of Victoria Hotel have put a lot of effort into making the rooms comfortable. Everything we needed was there and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful!
We we're there for two nights. Service was excellent. Although we had a tight schedule and had loads to see I think this is a perfect located place. Right in the centre of everything we wanted to see.

The rooms and bathrooms are very clean. Friday night the club/drinking place across the street was extremely noisy, but quieted down later in the evening. Staff are helpful and friendly.
We enjoyed the stay. I will recommend to Hetel that she makes sure that the night staff don't smoke downstairs or close to room 22's window. It was a warm night and we kept the window open. We had to close the window during the night because cigarette smoke came in by the bathroom window.
The facilities are not enough for an extended stay, no power plugs in the room.
Room's window was located on the street. Very noisy throughout the night with loud music and noisy vehicles.
The minute I arrived I felt at home. Positives: warm reception, prompt service, everything spotlessly clean and neat, extra blankets and pillows in the cupboard, TV with a few watchable channels and the incredible price! Slight negative, but not the end of the world: the rooms on the street side are exposed to the noise of the traffic. I stayed there for three nights. The first night in a single room on the street side and two nights with a family member in a double room at the back of the building - blissfully quiet! AND a heater was placed in the room seeing as how it was exceptionally cold that weekend. I will definitely stay there again. Thanks so much!
My girlfriend and I really enjoyed the old Hotel. The breakfast was very excellent, the service excellent for the money we paid for the evening. The rooms could be seen to be older but very well furnished and tidy. Will definitely use them again.

There are extras that the hotel owner can add to put the hotel in a better category, for example telephones in the rooms. The carpets in the corridors urgently need to be replaced. Furniture in the lounge, snooker room and other communal facilities also need attention. The block floors in the portal need to be sanded and sealed. Although we didn't need to use the communal bathrooms, these facilities also need to be upgraded (there are no signs indicating which bathroom is available for which gender). Found out by chance that the hotel has a laundry service. As for location: it's opposite a nightclub/restaurant that does business until late night/early morning.
It is perhaps wise to clearly indicate that the single rooms do not have bathroom facilities and that the rate does not include breakfast.
Unfortunately we were given two rooms above the hotel entrance on the "main" street side. We couldn't sleep until after 02:15 due to loud bar patrons and general street noise. Otherwise it's value for money as it's clean and pretty basic.
