Very cute place. The owner's animals are just annoying and attack people on arrival and we arranged for our small dog to go with us which was nice but the owner's dogs kept attacking our dog that he was too scared to do anything. Watch out especially for white and black dog he very much later! Also watch out for the street children who opened the gate for us, they are looking for money. There was also chatter and shouting in the street opposite where the street children and their family live in an abandoned house opposite.

Upon our arrival at Victoria West Guest House, Aubrey met us outside and helped me to park my vehicle with trailer. He checked us in and took us to our room, the entrance of which was outside on the main street. Even though we were a little worried, we didn't try to show it. We soon went to do some shopping and upon our return Aubrey offered to move us to one of the inner units. We were relieved with the idea and quickly moved our things over. Aubrey is a great host, thank you very much.

Water shortage was a bit inconvenient, but it's not the guest house's fault.
We wanted a suitable overnight destination and we got it.
There were a few things that bothered me, but it's not the end of the world. The toilet wouldn't work well, and there isn't a faucet in the kitchenette, but there is a sink. The rooms were neat. What bothered me the most was the fact that arrangements had been made for people to come and take wedding photos there, and that we were asked to walk up to the splash pool. It wouldn't have been a problem if we had been notified earlier, but all of a sudden a lot of people arrived looking very neat and it was not nice to walk past all the people to our room not in our swimwear. The owner/manager came twice to say sorry, but it was still bad planning. Everyone makes mistakes, but overall it's just not a nice town either, so I wouldn't go again. But if the guest house was in a different situation I would have given them another chance.
Our family of 4 had a wonderful stay. The facilities are very neat and the premises well maintained. Our bikes on the trailer slept safely outside the night. The kitchen is well equipped for self-catering.

Such a lovely overnight guesthouse in the middle of nowhere, or between the inland and Cape province in the heart of the Karoo.
Guests should know that there is currently a water problem in the town, so the guest house cannot always ensure running/hot water.
We enjoyed staying here overnight. Received wonderfully friendly service from Mietjie and Nadine. Some minor cons were the walking distance from the centre of town and poorly installed mesh wire over the door key hole which had stray threads sticking out and which stabbed my wife's finger when she first tried to close it. Other than that a very pleasant stay.

First of all, Victoria West Guest House is in a very quiet area. There is a lot of space for parking. The rooms are spacious and very tidy. Bedding is provided and adapted for the cold Karoo nights. Breakfast is absolutely fantastic and prepared by the very friendly owner every day. A very nice and tidy place in Victoria West.

Binnehof is beautiful and safe for our car. Children had fun playing on the grass. The night watch patrols all evening. We had a wonderful stay! On the way we could enjoy a delicious dinner at the hotel. Will stay here again.

Nadine was very friendly upon arrival. Our unit was clean, spacious and very tidy, so the impression was good. Accessories also complete and everything in working order. We had a pleasant night's rest and the next morning's coffee and rusks on the patio was great while we looked over the mountain. Greeted Wilma and went to the Cape with a happy heart. Will go back every year on the way to the Cape with my family!
Very comfortable, nice clean and best for me was the enclosure for my dogs. Will definitely stay there again. Dinner was a slight problem because the restaurant in town was closed and no shop was open, so take something with you for the fully equipped kitchen.

We used the guest house for a stopover between Cape Town and Pretoria. Was easy to find and close to the main road. The service was fast and friendly and the unit was very nicely equipped. There is a Spar less than 1 km away so we simply used the braai facilities for dinner. The room had good air conditioning so we could sleep very well. Was very nicely maintained and one feels very safe.
During our tour through the Karoo we spent the night at a few places and Victoria-Wes was definitely the best experience.

It's always nice to stay at Mietjie and Wilma's. Their Karoo hospitalty always makes you feel special. A place of rest for tired travellers.
Uncomplicated, typical Karoo architecture and style tastefully furnished with good linen, comfortable, furniture and definitely the friendly staff and owner, who was personally involved. My unit had a front pergola with a dense grapevine and private courtyard at the back with an enormous Fig and Pomegranate to sit under with morning coffee.

Apart from the accommodation and service being excellent, VictoriaWes Guest House is also pet friendly which makes it more perfect for guests traveling with their four-legged children. Will stay at their place every time I have to travel from Cape Town to Transvaal / vice versa! GREAT.

This is what any tourist or passer-by may need in the form of good overnight accommodation. The breakfast, prepared and served by the owner himself, was excellent and reasonably priced. Even the cleaning staff has been sent on a course to teach them what is required in the form of good and prompt service and friendliness towards guests.
We were very kindly received and shown what is true. The stay was very nice, with enough space, clean and good air conditioning. Nadine was extremely professional and overall everyone was very hospitable. We hope to go again in the future.

We had to move our reservation a day earlier at short notice. The staff arranged it for us very quickly without any problems. And we were pleasantly surprised! The rooms were beautiful and very well equipped. The garden and pool lovely to relax in. I was sorry to have to leave the next morning.

Victoria-Wes Gastehuis is right on the main street and you can't miss it. It offers a delightful oasis with a beautiful little garden and lovely porch with a swimming pool as soon as you drive through the gate. Truly a treat after a long day on the road. The only inconvenience was that I travel with a motorcycle and the gravel used on the driveway and parking area makes it very difficult.
