Good to rest after a long drive.
There was nothing wrong with the accommodation except that there was a water problem, so we couldn't wash and brush our teeth properly in the morning. There were bottles of water available for drinking and toilet flushing. The other guests were very noisy and there was no one on the premises to ensure that they did not make so much noise. It was a bunch of police officers staying there.
Very difficult to find. No signage on the street that I saw. Spent 20 minutes looking for the place after following directions. Not good for self-catering - only a microwave and no place to wash up or prepare meals.
The weather was freezing and the water in the shower was tepid. Not very pleasant after travelling all day. On the positive side, they organised DSTV so we could watch rugby.
The place is not up to standard and the staff are not friendly and helpful at all.
Cute place for an overnight stay. Had a good night's rest. Can definitely recommend the guest house. A friendly town, you immediately felt at home. Especially after the long journey from Pretoria on the way to Cape Town. We will visit Victoria's Pride again!

Getting a WhatsApp message with directions while on the road was a big surprise. Access to the premises and getting the key, smooth. The room was clean and comfortable. Will definitely want to stay there again when we drive through Victoria West.

The church in the main street was a bonus to see how nice and neat it was looked after.
We were shown a place to stay in an establishment which is adjacent to the one which was booked.
No power or water is available during load shedding, toilet and taps cannot be used. When we left there was no load shedding, but there was no water to shower, wash face and brush teeth. As a guest house, it is important that the needs of the guests are looked at. 5 lt of water is insufficient for this need.
Wonderful, outstanding help and hospitality from our hostess to help us with information and receive us. Thank you so much for going the extra mile as we arrived late! Your incredible hospitality made us feel like family! We will definitely visit and spend the night there again!

Poor water pressure. Bathroom door does not open smoothly. No comfortable chairs in or outside Room 2. Braai place consists of loose drums. Terribly many mosquitoes in the room, and no mosquito repellent, poison, or similar available. Place was neat and clean.
I understand that water is a group challenge. Pit toilets or temporary toilets are a better option.
No hot water for bath, but for shower. Booked there precisely because there was a bath! Driveway to parking very steep and sandy, in poor condition. Car scraped underneath, van struggled in sand! We were there at 16:00, could check in from 14:00 and had to wait half an hour for the hostess to come and unlock the room. Unpleasant when you've already been on the road for eight hours.
I would recommend that the owner install security gates at the entrances. Any person can enter there, there is no access control. An unwanted person was caught walking around and peeking into rooms.
Victoria's Pride is a very neat, clean and safe place. Aircon in room with very comfortable bed. And pillows were very nice. Bathroom facilities also nice.
We made the booking expecting a nice dinner and having a peaceful night after a full day driving. When we arrived the wifi couldn't get connected, after a long struggle the owners daughter got it going.(She's a star.) When you confirmed a hot meal and your told by the way the restaurant is closed tonight, it made us very unhappy/ Unit is clean but need a little maintenance and a women's hand on the finishing touches.

Victoria's Pride is 'n rustige plek. Wynand het uit sy pad gegaan om diens te lewer, die kos was 5 ster-hotelgehalte en ordentlik geprys. Sal definitief weer daar oorslaap.
We were warmly received even though it was already late and advice was given on possible places to eat - we did not book a meal in advance. Room was very spacious and clean and we were able to park in front of the room which just made it that much easier.
Thank you so much for the wonderful service you provided. It felt like a 5 star hotel, the room was amazing with the bed beautifully made and slept so well not to mention the food, you go out of your way. Will definitely stay there again.

Everything was very standard, clean, tidy, ideal to recharge your batteries and take on the next shift to Cape Town.
Booked a room with a bath. On arrival there was a shower for our room. Two people can sleep there but only one glass in unit. No teaspoon for stirring coffee. A little disappointed.
Very unprepared to leave guests without water, when town's water is off. I suggested that they could set up tanks for such unforeseen times, but manager has an unacceptable answer to that as well. Poor business acumen.
A little shocked when we arrived due to the building next door, but the moment we walked around the corner, we saw an oasis before us. Very neat, spacious rooms and friendly service, immediately felt at home.

Can't believe this place got good reviews. We entered from the main road, our spirits just started to drop, the road was bad and the building next to it was a dilapidated building with broken windows. It wasn't too bad inside, but then we were greeted by the owners' barefoot son. That night at 02:00 we were woken up by half-dressed girls walking between the rooms of the men who were in two of the rooms.
The staff are friendly, always helpful, and the rooms are clean, tidy and private. The cars are safe and definitely a place we will return to.
This is a lovely guesthouse. The only thing that put me off was the loud group that stayed here as well that played their music so loud. The management did nothing about this. For us, who wanted to enjoy the stillness of the Karoo, this was very unpleasant. The rest however was perfect.

Great air conditioning, finally able to sleep in the terrible heat. Owner very friendly, served free cereal before we ventured down the long road again. Just one small note - our room's bathroom did not have a door. It sounds trivial but if one of your traveling companions has a stomach problem it can get very unpleasant! Beautiful Karoo evening, stars clear and the sky clear.
Shower needs attention, we ourselves opened every hole with a pin so that water can get through better and their water shortage was quite inconvenient.
Good reception and administration. Room 8's double bed mattress needs replacing, shower faucet needs fixing ─ water pressure is weak. Bottled water is provided as municipal water is not up to standard - no bad smell or color observed the one night we were there.
Unfortunately the chef didn't pitch, that was the one thing. The other thing: they refered us to a restaurant where the guy obviously had a family connection, it was good but there are other nice options too.
Great stay and went out of their way to make us feel at home. Prepared food especially for us and what a plate of food it was!
We were well received and quickly made to feel at home. It was very nice to park your car in front of your room door. Our request for extra freezer facilities received immediate attention and was conveniently placed in a separate freezer in the kitchen. The visit of the owner to see that we felt at home was appreciated. The breakfast was well prepared and served to our liking. We will definitely use their services again.
