Villa Beryl hosts conferences of up to 30 people, and welcomes anyone who would like to use our facilities for photo opportunities such as wedding or matric farewell photos.
The Vryheid Hill Nature Reserve is on the edge of town and offers excellent bird watching opportunities in a beautiful conservation area. The reserve includes grasslands, rocky slopes, forests and mixed woodland and is able to support a wide variety of animals, birds and plant species.
Many private land owners offer hunting and game viewing with accommodation ranging from rustic to very upmarket. Vryheid has grown as a conference and event centre and delegates can combine their Safari experience with a visit to one of the natural mineral spa resorts in the area.
Just 2 km south-west of the town on the Babanango road is the Klipfontein Bird Sanctuary, which includes a large wetland and provides a safe refuge for many rare and secretive wild water birds.
To the east are two special nature / wildlife areas; Ngome Forest and Ntendeka Wilderness and Ithala Game Reserve. The reserve is linked to the town by a good tarred road and also has a landing strip.

The Voortrekkers proclaimed the land as the Nieuwe Republiek, with Vryheid as its capital and Lucas Meijer as its president. The republic�s parliament building, the raadsaal, and the town jail are well preserved relics of that time. Lucas Meijer's home is now a museum.

Breakfast was delicious, many choices, freshly prepared food and pastries, good hostess.
Old 1930s house. High ceilings, wood floors - nicely modernized.
What we experienced was certainly what was on offer. From their initial contact with us to our departure was extremely professional and above our expectations. The whole setup is painfully neat. Elna, who already kept us up to date with all arrangements before our arrival, welcomed us warmly at reception and fully informed us. Many thanks to everyone at Villa Beryl for your hospitality.
The room was clean and neat and well equipped with a fridge, microwave and oven. The snacks in the fridge was a great idea. The grounds are well kept and neat. Breakfast was great and the service was great. I would recommend Villa Beryl.

I did not know what to expect, as sometimes advertisements can be misleading, so we were both impressed with the external appearance and setting of Villa Beryl. The friendly and efficient check-in together with the room/ bathroom we were shown to, did not disappoint. We were,frankly, amazed at the value for money and have nothing but praise for the Guesthouse and the folks who run it and who made our stay memorable. We have and will,recommend it strongly to our friends and family who may visit Vryheid in the future. We certainly will return to Villa Beryl!
The food, accommodation, and hospitality of our hosts made this a wonderful experience. Would highly recommend this venue for anyone travelling via Vryheid.
