Our stay was nothing short of spectacular! The service provided by the staff was professional and of great help. Our children and babies, all 4 under the age of 4, enjoyed every single bit of our stay. There's a lovely swimming pool and lots of animals, including 2 beautiful peacocks showing off their beautiful feathers as they should! We were blown away by the kindness of the owners. In all honesty, I have never in my life experienced such welcoming and kind-hearted people going out of their way to make you feel at home! Without a doubt, our family will be visiting sooner rather than later!
We arrived later than usual and were still received with kindness, we were carried on.
What a welcome place to stay after driving the Richtersveld flat. Clean and tidy with all the amenities. Right next to the N7, so early morning on the road was not a problem.

It was a special experience to spend 2 nights at Vioolsdrift Lodge on the way to and from Namibia. The kindness, hospitality and helpfulness of Tony and Victoria was absolutely wonderful. Our chalets were extremely clean, comfortable and affordable. We would very much like to recommend Vioolsdrift Lodge, especially for tourists on their way to Namibia.

Very nice overnight stay at Vioolsdrift Lodge. Staff had been very friendly and helpful. Slept well and it's in a perfect location near the border and safe parking. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to spend the night there. Rooms were neat and clean.
It was very nice. The owner is very pleasant and helps you very well. I would recommend the place for sure.
Vioolsdrift Lodge is a roadside oasis after a long day's driving. A place where you can "recharge" again to be refreshed for the next day's ride.
It was a comfortable stay. The bed was good, the shower was good. But the toilet had a slight leak which made the cistern refill every now and then (simple to fix).
Very friendly welcome by owner and receptionist. Cleanliness great, room nice and big space. The WiFi pin was a problem and later it didn't work. Suggestion is to perhaps provide it to guests upon arrival or display at house rules. To make it even more enjoyable for our sports fans, at least get DStv sports channels in reception at the bar. Warm welcome, good food and a good night's rest after a long day on the road.
Tony and Victoria were extremely nice and friendly. A nice dinner after a long drive from Windhoek was delicious and the sitting area by the trees is perfect after a day on the road. The room was clean and necessary was there and we could park our bakkie directly next to the room. With Tony having lived in the area for years, he is also the perfect host for any questions one might have about the roads in the area or about the environment in general.
Convenient overnight stop on the border between SA and Namibia, but food at their restaurant was not that great.

Incredibly generous and friendly hosts. Great value for money. Loved having all the ducks and peacocks and springbok to watch while we had dinner. Highly recommend.

Everything was very nice, only the air conditioning in the room was very loud and not cooling down to the expected temperature we wanted. The WiFi is only available near the reception.
We were so delighted with our accommodation at the border. The place was well equipped for self-catering and for the most part clean and neat.

We had a nice stay for the purpose we booked it for. It is a good place for an overnight stay on the border and you can cook yourself or use the restaurant. There is a private braai area with fridge, microwave and cutlery. Also a pleasant bar in the complex. There is a well stocked shop right next to the accommodation. Beds are nice. Pool and garden are currently being fixed but will probably be ready for the summer.

Great surprise to discover a restaurant and bar. Perfectly located at the Nam/RSA border.
The self-catering houses are clean and spacious. The accommodation is right next to the road, so it is very loud. The restaurant is very convenient.

I struggled to enter at the gate because the number at the gate and the one I received was not working. I tried to hoot, but no one responded, and it was during the day. I gained access when other guests were going to the shops, but the accommodation was nice. It is value for money. I love everything about the accommodation.
Vioolsdrif Lodge was very neat and clean, but there are aspects that need attention. 1. The shower floor is 'dangerously' slippery. I had to throw a towel on the floor to keep from slipping and falling. 2. It would also be good to add a hand rail to the shower that old people like me can hold on to. 3. The mirror at the sink is hopelessly too high and my wife could not see herself in it. 4. The sink did not have a plug and we had to use toilet paper to make a plug to hold the water. 5. The chalet (No 4) is offered as a self-catering unit, but there are no utensils (bowls, pots, pans, etc.) to prepare food. 6. There are also no cooking facilities to prepare food, apart from a microwave oven. But there are no containers to use in the oven and baking eggs in a microwave oven is not possible. 7. The plug in the sink didn't fit either. 8. The name plate is hidden between the branches of the trees so that one cannot see it and then drive by.
The room is well equipped, but needs maintenance and thorough cleaning. Service and staff are good and friendly.
There were other guests playing loud music and partying late into the night. The location is also right next to the road, so you can hear the trucks driving all night long. We also had the first cottage next to the gate, and the people pressed their hooters late at night to get in, which was disturbing.
We had a great stay and we, young and old, enjoyed the pool immensely.

There were no knives with the cutlery to be able to use and the bathroom light did not work.
