Very well located near various beaches and a variety of activities.
The place was beautiful people walking there are nice people. They know how to talk to people we enjoyed to stay.
Breakfast is not available as stated on the website. I was visiting with my 2 teenagers. I would definitely recommend the accommodation. Great location, clean and quiet. Everything you need is close by.

Bedside lamps not working, one didn't even have a bulb in it. Washed out, thin, hard towel, with edges fraying. No bath mat. No hand towel. Mattress board thin with washed duvet. No mat.
Says was fine. Very limited tv channels available. Very limited coffee supply. Bed was too soft for me - I have back issues and would prefer a firmer bed, but to be fair I did not communicate this with the staff.
Pretty average l wouldn't come back, Durban is disgusting.
It was bed due high level of noise and poor hospitality.
Upon arrival I had to wait a long time on the sidewalk for help. My bedding had marks. The rooms are full of plastic plants and other pictures. My headlight didn't work. The photos on the app do not look the same as the rooms and surroundings. The house inside looks old and neglected.
We only got there around 20:00 and left early the next morning. The room as well as the bathroom were neat and clean. The porch was not clean, but we didn't use it either. We felt very safe.
The stay was very pleasant and clean. Jared was a great host. The only concern is the entrance and parking which is very narrow and small for big cars.
Photos misleading. Very clean and staff very helpful, but definitely needs a woman's touch. Also, no breakfast is available, even though advertised. Furniture and bedding are old and tatty and no cutlery or crockery, 2 cups, glasses and 1 wine glass. Had to go ask for extras. Because of helpful staff and cleanliness, I can't give them a bad score. Just need a bit of an upgrade.
Very clean, safe and lovely area. The waterpolo boys enjoyed having the accommodation to themselves.
Not at all like the photos on web page. On arrival no one responded to phone call to come in. Entrance gate boards eaten by termites and create a poor impression. The place was extremely neglected - garden, as well as rooms. Broken cupboards, no welcome coffee or tea facilities, no sink stopper in the kitchen, no tea towel/s. The fridge shelves are broken and the water is constantly dripping on the floor. The power plugs are very rare, the floorboards are broken, the patio furniture is in extremely poor condition and very dirty.
They need to buy new pots and throw away those filthy sticky ones, spoons, tee spoons etc. The garage must also be painted and tiled.
The place needs painting, new floors, plumbing maintenance, couches to be repaired, not enough uniform cutlery, shortage of glasses, fridge freezes food, cupboards to be repaired. A second person is needed to help spring clean the house every day so it is clean n fresh for guests. The garden and pool were not well maintained. I wouldn't go back nor recommend the place to anyone in my circles.
Poor service, room was not ready and no toilet paper. Dirty and neglected. Don't even consider the place.

I would recommend this accommodation and will stay here again. After having to change accommodation when I arrived in Durban, they were very helpful in assisting me. I was greeted by a friendly face (Jared the manager), who helped me with my check-in and was always available. The rooms are neat and tidy with the amenities you need, just like in the pictures. The staff is extremely accommodating and very friendly. It is in a quiet and secure area. It is almost like a home away from home.
The place was reasonable. Smal things need to be maintained and some attention to details is required i.e. my room did not have an aircon remote.

The guesthouse was neat and tidy. However, one can notice that the premises require some maintenance and attention. Room 2's DStv/TV link did not work. Lack to facilitate breakfast during loadshedding is an issue. To provide services to guests during loadshedding should be mandatory. This will distinguish special accommodations from lesser, more average ones.
Just decent nothing to brag about. The furniture was old not mentioning the fridges. We even had spoilt meat during our stay because non of the fridges were cold enough. A serious revamp of the place is needed.
We will definitely go back to Virgina Forest Lodge. Thank you Elsabe you're such a wonderful and kind host.
Monkeys were something new.
We can definitely recommend Virginia Forest Lodge. Elsabe went out of her way to make our stay comfortable. We were in Durban for a gala and Elsabe stored all our water and other refreshments in the kitchen fridge for us. Will definitely stay here again.
The staff and Elsabe were friendly and helpful, the linen were clean and breakfast was delicious. We had a great stay, but I was afraid of the big cat.

I enjoyed my stay at Virginia Forest Lodge. Located within walking distance from the beach, shops and restaurants. Located in a quiet area and I always felt safe, even when walking to the restaurants and shops.

The room was neat. There was nice hot water when you take a shower. The food was delicious.
From the moment I arrived and left 4 days later it was nothing but a pleasure. Elsabe is a star. Friendly service, delicious breakfasts and good company. I will definitely visit Virginia Forest lodge again when I am in Durban. Delightfully easy and centrally located to both directions, Durban or Umhlanga.
