Very nice, quiet and peaceful.
We had a wonderful stay at Vlakbult Guest Farm. We took a little walk up to a small sitting area behind the cottage where we could enjoy the view. It was beautifully peaceful and calm.
We had a lovely stay in the Honeymoon suite. Very nice owners and all the chats about their business - Hoogland Eteriese Olies - enjoy. Our little boy enjoyed the farm and all its activities in the short time we were there. Enjoy a delicious dinner. Thank you very much.
We were kindly received and the owners made us feel very welcome. The dinner and breakfast we pre-ordered were excellent. The honeymoon suite was beautiful and the room was tidy. And best of all was the breathtaking sunset. The getaway was rest for the soul. Would highly recommend Vlakbult Guest Farm.

We arrived late at night and left early morning. Our welcoming crew was extremely helpful and friendly, and assisted with a tricky bedroom door lock with urgency.

Jeandre and I had a lovely stay at Vlakbult Guest Farm. We were very kindly welcomed by Henry as well as the dogs on the site. We saw the most beautiful sunrise and admired the starry sky at night as well as the silence. We also enjoyed a delicious breakfast (at extra cost) made by Stacey. Our room looked exactly like the pictures. It was a very pleasant experience for us and we would stay there again any day.
Beautiful House dates from 1800s. Essential oils grown and for sale in shop on the working farm with many walking and cycling paths in safety. Surroundings have many hiking trails. Mosamane hiking trail difficult, but highly recommended. Tarred roads to Clarens and Rosendal bad in places, but worth it.

We had a late lunch at the country club. There were deer there which made sitting outside pleasant. After waiting an hour and then checking on our order we were told that the order had not been placed so we cancelled it.
We also went on an essential oil tour and gained a lot of valuable information.
The house is neat, clean and very well furnished with everything you need. It's great to have the whole house for your group. Very neat. Feel free to also check out the essential oils that are produced on the farm - it's very interesting.
The spacious farmhouse with beautiful wooden floors and interesting historical elements was a good cremation. We had a great time.

I had to drive slowly on the side of the road with my Honda, if I drive normally on the road then the car's bottom is dragged to the ground over all the stones due to the middle man being too tall.

The people were friendly. For us city jays, the silence was wonderful and to watch from the porch the next morning was wonderful.

Was greeted by some dogs and the owner. House is very old, and the floors crack, but makes you think back to when you were still a child. We had the whole house to ourselves so we could walk around the house without fear of disturbing others. Tossed a pinecone to the one dog myself and immediately made friends with the site's dogs.
Lovely house and we were lucky to have the house to ourselves.

Vlakbult was very clean and kitchen complete with cutlery and crockery. Quiet, a place to visit if you want peace of mind.
It was great. Thank you very much. Maybe just the following: Under the beds there is quite a bit of dust. The road signs and indications on site not always clear. Smoking may be prohibited on the porch because when the wind blows, the smoke blows into the house. It was really great and we can wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone. Vlakbult is very simple, but sufficient for an evening or two. For older people we will not recommend the Honeymoon Suite, because there are steep stairs that lead to the bedroom. Beautiful view. Well located.

The house is beautifully restored. Wooden floors creak but that is part of the charm. Wonderful walks on the farm and sunrises and sunsents over the Free State plains are beautiful.
Nice and quiet out in the country, very clean, comfortable bed and pleasant hostess, would use again.
If you want value for money, this is one place you should not overlook. The house is well equipped to suit your needs. One point to improve on can be to register the location on google maps or send the GPS coordinates together with the confirmation.
We were a group of 8 and we really enjoyed our stay in the large, well-equipped farmhouse. The farm offers peace and tranquility and we really relaxed.
This Guest Farm has the potential to be one of the destinations. We understand that the development is a work in progress but there are certain aspects that must be in place and can be achieved without excessive cost or effort. Despite my comments, I will stay there again if I'm in the area. 1. Directions to the farm are vague and although we didn't get lost we weren't sure. For example, I would indicate "Take dirt road opposite Shell Garage with road number". 2. The entrance to the farm is not tidy. I understand it's a working farm but keep one gate closed so only the car gate is open. 3. We happen to be animal lovers and the presence of the dogs didn't bother us, but I think the "beaters" especially of the big dog should be removed regularly. 4. Our accommodation was value for money and we had clean rooms with nice beds and in the red room where I slept more than enough towels etc. 5. However, I was a little surprised that our rooms were not serviced. 6. A leaflet in rooms with exact directions to facilities such as ATM, supermarket, eateries etc. will only make stay easier. 7. Although we arrived too early, our reception was generous and warm. 8. The attractions on the farm are of high quality which include: A beautifully laid out walk to the hill behind the house with a breathtaking view; the ram shed with its slatted floor, now used as a shop, is not only unique but beautiful. The view is beautiful. 9. I realize that one does not want to deface such a property with electric wires, burglar bars etc. not, but seen in the light of what is currently happening on our farms, I think security falls far short. Especially when you walk and you see the electric fences around the other farmhouse. I trust that our comments will not be taken as derogatory.
I can highly recommend the honeymoon suite, even though there is a bath and no shower. The private hill where enjoyed breakfast was unique and a great experience. The place is beautiful and well equipped. Very peaceful and ideal for a getaway. It is also ideal for a stopover, whatever the reason that brings you to town. Will stay here again any day, even if it's only to visit the owners. Henry and Stacey welcomed us like special guests of honour and made sure that everything was perfect.
No curtain in bathroom with normal windows. Toilet's linoleum floor is broken and the door doesn't shut properly. No available closet because it was locked and couldn't be opened by the owners because other people's stuff was being stored there. Bedding was good quality.
