De Mond Cottage, located just 21 km from Arniston in the Western Cape, was originally built in the early 1900s. The cottage is nestled within a patch of natural fynbos, surrounded by arable farmlands, hidden from the main homestead, and only 3 km away from De Mond Nature Reserve.

De Mond Cottage features a comfortable lounge, 3 bedrooms accommodating up to 6 people, 2 bathrooms, and an upstairs loft that can sleep an additional 4 people. The cottage is equipped with a self-catering kitchen, including a gas fridge and gas cooker, as well as access to outdoor braai facilities. An indoor fireplace adds to the cosy atmosphere. Crockery and cutlery are provided. However, guests should bring their own bedding, including linen, duvets, and blankets. While there's no electricity, we do provide paraffin lamps and candles.

Situated between the villages of Arniston and Struisbaai, 205 km from Cape Town, the estuary at the mouth of the Heuningsnes River, De Mond, offers pristine natural beauty. The area is perfect for fishing enthusiasts, with opportunities to catch grunter, steenbras, leerfish, cob, springer fish, and striped harder fish in both the estuary and along the coast. Bird watchers will also delight in sightings of Caspian terns, African black oystercatchers, blue cranes, flamingos, and many other species in the vlei and fields on the farm.
