La situation du Cottage, les pieds dans l'eau, est incroyable. Il est très propre avec tout ce dont vous avez besoin. C'est surement le meilleur endroit où loger à Hondeklipe Bay. Nous avons été très bien accueilée et tout a été fait pour nous facilitaire le séjour. Le village n'est par contre pas à recommander : c'est une ville en declin. Heureusement, Vory Klip is lightly en périphérie du village, un peu à l'extèrieur, avec terrase sur la mer! Vous pouvez vous promener à pied depuis le Cottage le long de la côte : c'est très joli. Vory Klip est une belle étape dans un village qui l'est un peu moins.

We got so much more than we expected: friendly welcome, good quality bedding and towels, well-equipped kitchen, breathtaking view from the master bedroom, kitchen and living area, super clean and tidy. The waves break on a giant rock right in front of the house.
My parents went there for their wedding anniversary. They let it be known that there is no other place in South Africa that they will ever go to than Vori-Klip. It is the cleanest, most beautiful place. Nicky was so pleasant and managed everything. She even put special champagne and chocolates there. The view, the cleanliness, the friendliness, everything was just top notch.
This stone is really in front of the house. And this Stone is not called "Spitfire Stone" for nothing. So the Restaurant where we wanted to eat was not open. So glad we had food and a cold bottle of wine. Because on the stoep of Vori-Klip there is always one of the most beautiful sea scenes in the world. It is breathtaking, especially at high tide. The house is beautiful and clean. Very comfortable with a proper fridge and lovely linen. 2 bedrooms, each with its own bathroom. And DSTV, but the view was too beautiful to watch TV. In Hondeklip Bay there is no load shedding, but Nicky, our hostess, makes provision for any electricity problem. Food for the soul. I hope that one day I can stay there again.

If you don't stay at Vori-Klip Accommodation, you're definitely missing out. The best place to stay in Hondeklip Bay. The view of the Spitfire Rock with breaking waves right in front of you is incredible. We were also lucky to see beautiful flowers along the coast.

No WiFi and the cell's data reception in Hondeklip Bay is not too good. On the other hand, there is no load shedding. Would not recommend going there with a car, look for something with high ground clearance and good tyres. In winter the road is very slippery. The last part of the road is 55 kilometers of dirt road. Just after the turn off from the N7, past Garies, is a low water bridge that looks like it could flood easily so would suggest you inquire if it has been raining.
We had a great time at Vori-Klip. The view is exceptional and the cleanliness inside is excellent! Nikki and her husband received us well and were there if we needed them for anything. I will definitely stay at Vori-Klip again.

The first time I came to Hondeklip Bay, the Spatklip was the biggest attraction for me. That's why I chose the accommodation right in front of the splash stone when I came to walk the Camino a few times later.

Nicky and Jerry have created a gem of a getaway here. With the sea breaking against Spitfire rock no more than 60m from the porch and the most unforgettable sunsets, 6 days flew by in the blink of an eye. If I could I would stay there for the rest of my life. The house is very well equipped and spacious enough to accommodate 4 people comfortably. With barbecue areas inside and outside the house we were able to make the most of whatever the weather did. This will not be our last visit to Vori-Klip.

Upon our arrival, the hostess was immediately available and made us feel immediately at home. The sea view was something special even though the wind almost blew us away (of course you can't book everything) and we still enjoyed it very much.

After a nice long drive around the village of Piepklien, my wife and I realized that Vori-Klip is the place to stay on Hondeklip Bay. All the other people were complaining about no water and the places looked sad. We had the best view of the sea and also the breathtakingly beautiful Spitfire rock where the waves shoot up to 10 meters into the air. The rooms were spacious and tidy. 3 bathrooms with hot and cold water. Full DStv and an indoor braai. It was a feast to stay there.

Fantastic view from the house.
Vori-Klip turned out to be exactly what we needed on our way back to Cape Town from a 4x4 tour of the Richtersveld. We needed to be quiet and relax; go for pleasant walks along the peaceful shoreline and to drive through part of the nearby Namaqualand Nature Reserve. We needed to watch the waves break over the rocks right outside the cottage and see the sun go down. Sparkling clean and so comfortable. And a fascinating garden to enjoy. Loved everything about it. Nicky and Jerry do a wonderful job!

To say this is a hidden gem is a cliche! Amongst diamond mines, gravel roads, on the West Coast, in a tiny town not easily reached is a place that is as beautiful, functional, with detailed thought into everything, as one would find in any well-heeled neighbourhood in a a large city. (Really - a basic medical kit and needle/thread for running repairs are found in the neat drawers!) Nicky has put together arguably one of the best guesthouses we've ever stayed at. We actually felt at home and didn't want to leave. And no other place in town has a location that can rival Vori-klip. If you find yourself in Hondeklipbaai and don't stay here, you only have yourself to blame.

Everything you need is there. Nicky and Jerry, you were the best. Nicky, made sure all the time that everything was ok. The cottage was outstanding with a breathtaking view! Don't expect light, shiny things and la-di-da tiger lanterns. Don't expect a resort with time-consuming activities. Expect nature, exceptional views and plenty of opportunity to just be. If you can still "ooh-and-aah" over the sea, waves that splash against the rocks and self-care in all areas, then you must go! Clean, tidy, fully equipped and an amazing location. We decided at short notice to spend the night at Hondeklip Bay and did not have high expectations. We were stunned by the beautiful place we discovered. The decor and furniture fit so well with the sea and everything we needed was there. Nicky received us so kindly we immediately felt like family. The view is unbeatable, never slept so close to the sea and is in awe of the waves that break over the rocks every now and then. Here you can get away from everything. I think I found my happy place. We are already making plans to go back again.

The unit is very tidy and offers more than your normal holiday unit. A lot of fine detail and planning and time went into making this place a success. You feel at home and immediately at ease. The owners are welcoming and went the extra mile to make us feel at home. The unit and service is absolutely superb and offers everything you need. It was also so clean you could eat off the floor! People who do not know the area should just be aware that it is a dirt road up to Hondeklip Bay and smaller vehicles will find it difficult to venture down the road. You also have to pack your own self-catering items (such as meats, side dishes, etc.), because your choices of places to eat and shops are limited to the minimum and you can only withdraw money from the liquor store. Make sure you have a tank of petrol or diesel, because your nearest pump is 30 km away in Koingnaas. Any person or family would enjoy staying at Vori-klip and Nickie's reception and service were excellent. Just pack your own self-catering items.

Please note that there is a gravel road leading to the establishment. Guests are required to enquire about the condition of the road, before arrival, as it could be subject to change due to unforeseen circumstances.The house comprises 2 bedrooms and can accommodate 4 guests at a time. The main bedroom has a queen-size bed and an en-suite bathroom with a shower, toilet and basin. The second bedroom has 2 single beds and there is a second bathroom with a corner bath, shower, toilet and basin.
The kitchen has a breakfast counter and is equipped for self-catering with a fridge, mini-oven and 3-plate stove, a microwave, coffee- and tea-making facilities, crockery and cutlery.
The lounge area has a TV with DStv and comfortable seating. It also has a sleeper couch and an indoor, built-in braai.
Guests are afforded secure parking on the premises.
Hondeklip Bay is 90 km from Garies, on a gravel road, and approximately 200 km from Springbok. Petrol and diesel are available in Koiingaas, which is approximately 22 km from Hondeklip Bay.
