The cottage sleeps 6 and is smartly decorated in a true Lemon Tree cottage style. The upholstery, linen and flooring are of excellent quality. All beds have electric blankets for cold night temperatures. There is a fireplace in the main living room where firewood is provided. The dining area is combined with the lounge and living room. The kitchen is fully equipped with modern facilities. It also has a microwave oven, stove, fridge and freezer.
Outside is a boma with braai facilities available. There is a private entrance and verandah as well as Wi-Fi.
The beauty of the Vorstershoek Farm Cottage is also in the vicinity of the unique town of Lady Grey where the Passion Play is offered by the Lady Grey Arts Academy every Easter weekend. 2 Unique experiences; 1 in summer and 1 in winter. It is in a heavy snowfall area and anyone who wants to experience snow, a snowman and a snowball fight should come and experience it right here. The area makes this the perfect holiday destination. Guests can spend their days in the spacious typical magazine-style garden with outstanding features or guests can enjoy nature and the dams on a quiet walk. It is ideally en route only 110 km before the popular town of Rhodes where our only SA snow-ski resort, Tiffindell Ski Resort is situated.

25 guests' feedbackThe cottage is a comfortable, spacious three-bedroom unit fully equipped for self-catering accommodation. Hostess is professional, friendly and extremely helpful. In the living room there is a lovely fireplace to drive away the cold and the electric blankets on the beds ensure a cozy night's rest. Because there is virtually no light pollution, you will be able to experience an unsurpassed starry spectacle on cloudless nights. If you value silence and a peaceful farm environment, then Vorstershoek should definitely be on your list. Can inform you about all the attractions in the area: e.g. Joubert's Pass, the Lady Gray dam, and for us the absolute highlight, a visit to the crested vulture breeding colony, just a few kilometers from Vorstershoek farm. Be sure to set aside a few hours to observe the returning vultures in the late afternoon. We would love to stay at Vorstershoek cottage again.

We really enjoyed Vorstershoek. It's neat and the owners (and dogs) are friendly. They allow you to walk the farm flat and the surroundings are beautiful. Do yourself a favor and book dinner - it's like a real life Sunday lunch and you'll lick your fingers.
On a cold winter's day, the warm welcome from the hosts, the cozy log fire and electric blanket to make you feel cozy at home. I will definitely want to visit Vorstershoek again.
If you like nature and silence, Vorstershoek is what you are looking for. The apartment is spacious and fully equipped. The access road to the farm and farm turn-off is more suitable for vans and sport utility vehicles.

Vorstershoek is a beautiful farm where Merinos are often farmed. Hosts go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable. We rested well and had a nice walk on the farm roads. Would recommend this place to everyone.

A wonderful few days visiting and relaxing, plenty of space for walking and cycling. Owner and his wife are lovely people and spoiled us wonderfully.
Despite Francois and Ester having some troubles they still did a lot for us. No trouble was spared to make our stay as pleasant as possible. These two really care for their guests. 100%.
Uncle Francois and Aunt Ester made us feel like friends. Their kindness is second to none and it felt like we were visiting them. The farm is breathtakingly beautiful with kilometers of fields in which one can go for a walk and have a picnic. We'll be back for more for sure!

Everything was neat and clean. Beautiful place!
It was raining a lot when we got there and we were escorted and assisted by the Vorsters - they made sure we arrived safely in that paradise of theirs! Everything, really everything was perfect! Very hospitable, helpful (we were three middle aged ladies there) and exceptionally friendly - would definitely go again and highly recommend.
After a short drive on a dirt road we arrived at the most awesome farm in a picture perfect valley. Clean house with all the amenities to make your stay pleasant. Lots of animals to enjoy, the children loved it. Our host was absolutely stunning and interactive, all our requirements was met without delay. We will definitely be back when the opportunity presents itself.
