The apartment is very neatly arranged on the porch of the old large farmhouse and is equipped to match the style of the farmhouse. The place is practically against the town with a short stretch of dirt road. Quiet farm atmosphere and if you want to enjoy nature, the cutest Bouvier farm dog will take you for a walk further into the farm. The door to the entrance of the room just needs some attention, because it cannot be locked from the inside. Would stay there again anytime.

Vredelus Farm Stay is the ideal place to stay. The tranquility and the beautiful mountains that surround it already make the stay worthwhile. It is very conveniently located, close enough to the town, but it still creates a nice farm atmosphere. The room was well equipped and the hostess was very accommodating. Host Alsjae was so welcoming and told us interesting facts about the farm. Loved the fact that we had a flock of sheep close by for the night! Enjoyed an evening stroll with the ostriches keeping pace on their side of the fence. It is magic and a place to stay for more than 1 night. Thank you!
We were kindly received and immediately felt at home. The guest room was spacious and there was ample space to put down luggage, something that is rare in guest facilities. The place was clean and tidy, also provided with everything one needs. The problem with the shower's water flow received immediate attention. We had a great stay and would recommend it.

You feel "place", still the round handle to open door and "squeak" of the door. Was special to me. Cracking wooden floor and high ceiling. Large bathroom. Lovely spacious with everything needed. Was able to take a wonderful walk on the farm and take in and admire the wonderful creation of God. Mountains are breathtakingly beautiful. Meiringspoort left us speechless. Unfortunately, the walkway to the waterfall was closed.
Beautiful house right on edge of town (central) on a farm. Comfy bed. I was unlucky in that I was there for 13 hours, 9 of which were loadshedding so I didn't get chance to heat my food for supper as was plan or make coffee in morning or for flasks for trip. Maybe long term plan might be a gas ring. Would love to come back some time.
We have only a few times stayed on a working farm, but find it very interesting and enjoyable. The only little problem I would like to mention is that I thought the R700.00 a bit steep as we also stayed in a 4 star establishment in Oudtshoorn for only R600.00 just a few days later.

It is a lovely restored old house in a peaceful farm setting right next to the village.
Being city dwellers it was a treat being on a working farm and observing the activities, especially the sheep! Walking distance to the quaint village of De Rust with its interesting main street and good eating places an advantage.
An ideal stop-over point from the Cape to Pretoria if one is planning 2 stops en route. Comfortable, affordable and so close, walking distance, to De Rust village but still "away from it all". All we needed was available. Thanks Alsje.
Spacious and convenient. Was easy to find and very quiet environment on the farm. Would just recommend that there should be hairdryer and maybe spray equipment for the flies (totally understandable, because it's a working place!).

We really enjoyed the location. The rooms in the old farmhouse are quaint with lots of atmosphere. One of our guests who has extensively travelled in Europe said that it evoked the ambience of Provence in Southern France. We were extremely pleased with the stay. The hosts are friendly and accommodating.
Everything we needed and the hostess was very accommodating with check out time. We were able to complete the Meiringspoort Mountain Bike Ride and return to the guesthouse to shower before our room needed to be vacated. Will definitely stay there again.
