Beautiful nature, the smell of the fynbos.
Very lovely cottages and pet friendly which allways makes such a difference. Views are amazing and the space is wonderful.

The cottages at Vredenhof Cottages are rustic, but the quality of the bedding and towels is excellent. Coffee pods and Nespresso machines are provided, which was unexpected but very welcome. The host, Alinda, was friendly and sent directions and important information via WhatsApp.
The stay was okay. When they advertise, they do not inform you it's a gravel road that you have to travel, which was not nice. I met the host telephonically. They never came to introduce themselves to us. When we left, we didn't know where to put the keys, so I had to phone her. Only coffee with no rusk on arrival. We were not impressed with their hospitality. We will think twice to recommend them and go there again.
There were a few problems with the water in the beginning but it was soon sorted out.

The cottages are situated in the middle of nowhere which allows for a perfect getaway from the city noise to a serene, quiet farm. The scenery is breathtaking especially when the stars come out at night. The cottage is clean and has everything you need. We are definitely going back but for longer for sure. We took a long walk through the far, into the mountains, it was safe and quiet. Nature lovers paradise, the host was always available for any questions or queries. Alinda was very sweet and helpful.
Very quiet, safe and cozy. Would definitely recommend to someone who wants to get away from busy life and just want to relax or switch off. Nice cycling routes, as well as walking routes. Neat and comfortable.
The house is very neat and everything you could need is there. You only have to take your own food & clothes! Wonderful to walk among the vineyards & fields and be safe!
We had a great time on the farm, away from the city's noise and our dog enjoyed it very much. We just want to thank the owners again for their hospitality. I would recommend anyone to go and spend time there.
We were a group of 4 adults and two dogs who stayed in Kraalbos for 2 nights. Had a great time there and rested. The cottage has everything you need and more. Very nice view of the surroundings. I would definitely recommend it to someone who wants to get away from the city!
Farm is nice and peaceful, all the basic facilities that you need to get along. Very clean and neat, which makes it so much nicer to stay there.
Vredenhof Cottages exceeded our expectations, very well equipped, clean, comfortable and the atmosphere on the farm was heavenly! Unfortunately, we only spent too little time there because we attended the 'Wine on the river' festival, but we used the time very well and recharged our batteries.
The place is located among green vineyards. One looks at the beautiful mountains. There are several hiking trails. We saw goats in the high mountains. The quiet and peaceful. A great place for a family of 4 or for a loving couple.
I had an amazing time taking a break from the hustle and relaxing at the cottage. It was so quiet and calm and i loved the noises of the farm. It was really the break I needed to feel refreshed. The cottage was clean and cosy and had everything I needed. I was there on my own and felt safe the entire time as well. Would definitely go back.
We enjoyed it, from the silence of the farm, the well-equipped cottages to the beautiful stars that feel like you can touch them. The road is a bit rough for a normal car, but we survived it with our ST. I will definitely go back again for the tranquility. Very neat and clean. Would loved to have met someone there. Saw no one the whole weekend. And I would have wanted some info on where the dam and the hiking routes are. No info available.
We were really looking forward to our stay at Vredenhof, and were not disappointed. During our stay there were no farming activities, so it was only the birds that we could hear and see. We went for long walks and a.o. saw badgers and goats in the gorge. Unfortunately, 2 days were too short for us to be able to relax and read all the books we took with us. The fact that there is no TV is a bonus. We kept ourselves busy getting to know the Dover stuff and baking a loaf of bread every day. We will definitely visit again, but definitely stay longer.
I was so pleased that I wanted to go again the next weekend, but unfortunately the place was already taken. However, I plan to go back for a weekend next month. It's so quiet there. The place is incredibly neat. Value for money - definitely. Would definitely recommend it to everyone.
We had a nice time, saw klipspringer buck, lots of dassies and lots of different bird types, we even had a resident in our veranda roof, its was a hoopoe was so cute. We also went for a long hike. We also swam in the dam. My little dog loved it. I also choose this place as I could take my dog with. It was nice sitting on the veranda with the fire going and it is dead quite, enjoyed it very much. They also sell food stuff I ordered acha and boere chips.
Completely rested after a lazy weekend of peace and quiet. Well equipped and especially enjoyed the dover fabric.
If you're looking for some rest away from the city, then Vredenhof is a very good choice. No TV or radio, just quietness of nature and the farm. Would definitely go there again!
It far outside of Robertson, but worth it. Will definitely go back again.
Coming from a farm we understand what farming is as a business but for us whom no longer farm, it was tranquil, private, walks bird life and oh yes, next time we will not forget our bikes. Tranquil, private, bird life, walks all over, cycling. Will definitely be back.
... good company. The best recipe for a good anti-stress week(end) or two. Decide how much you want to do from the sitting on the stoep, read a book, write your memoirs or take off your hiking boots and / or bike and explore the paths.
It was a lovely stay, beautiful houses with everything needed. Calm atmosphere. It was a bit close to the farm/workhouses, and the patent to keep the animals away was very disturbing with the light constantly shining in one's eyes. These are just observations, but didn't bother me.
