A quiet, peaceful farm with chickens and rabbits and a table tennis table. Load schedule is provided. For city dwellers who need "peace and quiet".
What a beautiful place! Spacious rooms and well equipped. My children really enjoyed the play kitchen and were even spoiled with the 'crop duster' that went over the house early in the morning. Will stay longer next time!

Very delicious, just terribly cold without any kind of heating. Blankets are indeed sufficient.
We were kindly received when we arrived late. The cottage was spotless, nicely decorated, comfortable and beautiful. There was enough water and milk in the fridge, coffee and tea, and lights for the power outages. It is dead quiet on the farm and the stars were breathtaking. We wish we could have stayed longer with our warm host.

Stayed there overnight on the way to the sea. Arrived late and was kindly welcomed. Very nice place, away from the highway. Dirt road to the guest farm, but it's worth it.
We were generously received on a cold late autumn evening, and Pieter explained everything that was needed well.
Katie and Pieter were amazing. They couldn't do enough to make our stay successfull. Even bringing us games and having very interseting conversations about the animals and trees. The chalet is beautifully decorated and has everything you need, even for load-shedding. There was Wi-Fi which some used, but it was really nice to just be. We spent so much time on the stoep, listening to all the different birds and watching the animals and all their comings and goings. The sunsets were beautiful and were even nice when it rained. My husband and sons went for long walks, even the farm worker was very friendly and took my 21-year-old son fishing.

Vreugde Gasteplaas is the answer if a traveler is looking for a neat, safe and peaceful place to stay in the vicinity of Warden. The owners welcome guests personally and provide all information that is important regarding the accommodation, e.g. keys, gates etc. The room and kitchenette are well furnished, nothing is missing. We found this an excellent place to stop for the night. We arrived at almost sunset, and had a quiet evening, after 11 hours on the road. Comfortable beds, quiet surroundings and a small kitchen provided a relaxed evening and restful night before an early start the next day.

Ideal stopover when traveling from Durban to Pretoria. Far enough from main roads to ensure tranquility, close enough not to waste time.
Katie was so friendly and helpful. She was very accommodating when we asked if we could bring our dogs. She had the room cleared out so that there was more space for them. Our room led out onto a courtyard and they could roam around it freely. We were made welcome by the friendly staff. The room was clean and had everything we needed.

For the price one pays I expected basic accommodation. Our expectations were exceeded! Coffee and tea, milk and even a chocolate on your bed. Very good quality beds and bedding, nice games room, and barbecue area. My little girl had fun running around and there is a nice play area. Would definitely recommend!

Exceeded all expectations, two wonderful people, Pieter and Katie, it was so pleasant. The biggest surprised was when they invited us to enjoy a delicious breakast with them the next morning. The dirt road is just a bit bad, especially if you have to drive it in the evening, and I would say it is a bit far from Clarens, would have to specify that it is about 100 km drive. We had such a nice stay! We were on our way to the sea and slept here. It was so pleasant that we decided to sleep at Vreugde Gasteplaas AGAIN on our return. We will definitely visit again in the future! We were also very impressed by the space on the campsite - a whole bunch of young people can come and camp and make use of the wonderful facilities.
We had a great time relaxing on the guest farm. The rooms were fantastic. Everything was neat and clean and the environment was peaceful and relaxing. We could also drive out to surrounding towns such as Clarens, Ficksburg, Fouriesburg, as well as the Golden Gate. Definitely recommend.
