Wonderful and delicious and the food was great and one could have a good time in the bar with Dave and learn more about the environment and the history of Rhodes. Extra effort was made with a packed lunch for the next morning before we went fishing.
A beautiful remote part of the country, interesting history about the town.
Owner packed a delicious breakfast upon request for our early departure. Hopefully we will return in the future and maybe spend 3 nights to explore the area better.

We had an awesome time in Rhodes. We were only there one night but our hosts were so wonderful. We had drinks and laughs at the bar and an amazing dinner.

Would like to see this part of the Eastern Cape again after we were there 20 years ago. Nature was still exceptional, but the village is waning. Hope someone buys the hotel and makes it a good place to stay. Meanwhile, Walkerbouts is really the overnight and eatery! Thanks to Dave and the team, as an oasis in the remote part of our beautiful country!
The atmosphere is lovely, with warm, comfortable rooms, home-style cooked food and a personal touch with interaction between the hosts. The views from the place itself are also magnificent. A place to return to.
Limited activities for the teens, but we did enjoy the time out. A place to read, sleep, walk and chat. Locals very friendly and you quickly get pulled into the Rhodes community.
The place is breathtakingly beautiful, peaceful and the service is outstanding. Very friendly people and very helpful.

Very interesting establishment with character and local flavour.
The decor took me back to grandma and grandpa's house. The warm blanket a plus for cold evenings. Think the chef could take a more friendly attitude towards guests.
Walkerbouts has everything you need. In a unique and special but very cold and inhospitable environment is this an oasis with friendly, professional staff, warm blankets and fireplaces, delicious food, bar facilities, etc. A special thanks to Iryna for her friendliness and beautiful smile and Marie who didn't just cook the most delicious food, but also the most beautiful food we've experienced in a long time.

Walkerbouts' informal way of doing things quickly made us feel at home. The spacious family rooms were a bonus.
We really liked Walkerbouts Inn and its staff. We were very warmly received and enjoyed their breakfasts and dinners. The rooms were clean and tidy and we slept comfortably on old copper boilers. We think the 2 nights may have been too short to be able to explore the whole area. There is much to see and do.
Very helpful and friendly. The accommodation is dated, but perhaps suits the area. The dirt road claimed one of my tires. Still a nice experience.
Wonderful service & hospitality from the Dining Room/Kitchen manager, Jean. Front of House management was unprofessional and inefficient. The Inn could probably benefit by more involvement from Dave Walker himself. Small things such as hot water in the bathroom & keys to the bedrooms would have made our stay more enjoyable.
This should be the best accommodation and food in Rhodes. If you want to fly fish, Dave is the man.
The reception was very friendly, felt right at home.
