Waterberg Guest Farm
Waterberg Guest Farm
Waterberg Guest Farm
-
The original 1930’s manager’s house has been converted into a guest house with 3 en-suite double or twin rooms and 1 family unit for up to 4 guests. Each room has a toilet, a shower, and a basin, and one of the rooms also has an additional bathtub. In addition to the guest house, there is a Maxi Bungalow and Bush Bungalow scattered along the slope of the Klein Waterberg. The unique bungalows are built according to the traditional Herero method using natural materials from the surrounding mountains, while the bungalows themselves are constructed with only natural materials. The interiors are decorated in contemporary African design and offer modern amenities to ensure comfort. They also offer the choice of either indoor or outdoor showers, surrounded by lovely views.
The spacious dining room is situated in the guest house, along with the comfortable lounge, an ideal spot to relax after a long day. The traditional African grass-roofed lapa next to the swimming pool offers al fresco dining, and a fully stocked ‘honesty bar’. Here guests can sit on the wooden deck and watch the floodlit waterhole as antelope, warthog and the occasional leopard come to drink, and in turn, be watched by the resident family of baboons.
Over dinner, your hosts can share their knowledge on numerous and diverse subjects ranging from the local history and culture, wildlife and nature, conservation efforts and predator management through to the realities of day-to-day life on an operational Namibian ranch. Guests can view animals on guided game drives through the rugged surrounding terrain in 4-wheel drive vehicles, or enjoy a sundowner around the swimming pool while watching the sunset over the Waterberg Plateau.
