The cottage can accommodate up to 8 adults and comprises 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, and an open-plan kitchen, dining and living area. The first, second and third bedrooms each contain a queen-size bed, and the fourth bedroom contains a double bed and a single bed. Each bathroom contains a shower, a toilet and a washbasin but they are shared by 2 bedrooms.
The kitchen is well-equipped for self-catering with a Smeg stove and oven, fridge, and a microwave. A washing machine is available. The dining area contains an 8-seater dining table. There is a small lounge area with a fireplace. DStv and Wi-Fi are available. Outside there is a wide verandah with seating and an 8-seater dining table, where you can watch the world go by. There is a built-in braai facility in the garden.
There is also a 12 seater table under the tree with a lovely firepit.
This area is great for birdwatching, fishing, relaxing and water sports. Guests can enjoy great walks along the beach, or up through the property and through the forest.

7 guests' feedbackWe had a great stay at the Waterfront Cottage. Very private location with easy access to the lagoon for swimming. The loadshedding meant that we had to plan certain activities (no electricity meant no water) but that was not cottage related and with the help from Alison who introduced us to the ESP app it could be easily managed. When we had certain questions, Alison was very quick in responding. In the end we stayed 3 extra days and we have added the cottage on our list of locations to include in next year itinerary.

The house was the perfect spot for a relaxing getaway - equipped with everything you need. It is right on the lake which we made use of.
Absolutely fantastic. Was just a bit difficult to find the place.
We had a great stay at Waterfront Cottage. The location is fantastic and we really enjoyed it. There are only a few things that people need to realize: 1. The road is quite steep and it is a bit difficult to get there with a regular car. Vans or 4x4s are fine. 2. Every 2 bedrooms share an en-suite bathroom (ie the rooms both have doors leading to the shared bathroom). It's a bit awkward to share the bathroom like this between different couples, but parents with children won't have a problem. 3. There is no bathtub, so parents with small children may struggle. 4. If there is loadshedding, there is no water, so you have to plan your shower carefully and make sure you take enough drinking water with you. 5. There is no pantry so the kitchen is a bit difficult to keep tidy. There are 2 fridges, so you only use them for a pantry. 6. The living room is quite nice for 8 people, but there is a lovely large veranda that makes up for it. 7. There is WiFi, but no Smart TV, so just take a tablet or laptop if you want to watch Netflix. There are plenty of board games though, so watching TV isn't really necessary. Furthermore, the location is absolutely fantastic. You can't do better.
The road is not suitable for a low vehicle. Also some extra blankets would be welcome as the rooms do get quite cold at night.
You can sit on the veranda and enjoy the tranquility of nature or frolic in the water which is only a few steps from the cottage.
