The holiday home, Waterval Self-catering Holiday Home, is very neat, everything is exactly as shown in the photos, and the lady working there is very friendly.
We had a great stay at the Waterval Self-catering house. It has beautiful views of the surrounding area, a spacious yard, swimming pool and everything you need. It was also nice to have the cleaning crew come in every day to clean the house and wash the dishes.
We had a wonderful stay in the place. Absolutely value for money and close to everything you want to see near Sabie. Will use again if we are in that area.
Very nice place with a beautiful view and plenty of space. The housekeeper was very good and friendly. The pool billiard was a surprise. The maintenance of the accommodation can be better.

The house is very big and has many beds. However, two rooms were described as having a double bed and a single bed when booking. In fact, each room has two single beds, but the other large room has a double bed and two bunk beds, which is different from the description. There are ants in the kitchen and the faucet in the kitchen is a little leaky. The maid has a good attitude and keeps the house clean and tidy every day. The swimming pool is a bit dirty, the scenery is beautiful, and it is very quiet. The house is very warm. Although the quilt is thin, it is also warm. Overall, it is a good holiday home.

Waterval is a large house which is suitable for large groups of people. In general, it is in good condition and offers value for money. However, the house seems to be lacking 'love' and there are many little issues that need to be attended to. These issues were not major, but it points to a lack on interest on behalf of the house owner. As an example - the drawers of the kitchen cupboard are no longer on their runners. which makes opening the drawers difficult. There was a hole in the floor next to the pool table, which we covered with the otterman so that no one got hurt. This was repaired when we mentioned it to Rina. There is also a hole in the floor on the deck. again, not life threatening, but could be nasty if someone stepped on it. The glass holder in the main bedroom bathroom was broken. The second shower head in the same room was not working. The bathroom in the 'domitary room' was not nice at all and seemed to me to be unfinished. . Rina the housekeeper was polite and very helpful and tried to address our concerns, however, the owner is M. I. A and not available to address issues which Rina was unable to help with. Firstly, the printing on the oven and stove dials have been wiped off and so it is impossible to see which setting you need to select. as Rina had never used the stove/oven, she was unable to help. A mesage to the owner, brought no response at all. . The gas stove jets were blocked and there was only one reliable plate - again no response from the owner. This was particulary irritating as we were a large party and cooking presented challenges. it took lots of fiddling about to get it to work.
The house was amazing with all facilities and services one would require when on a vacation. It is located at the centre of all the attractions in Mpumalanga. the lady in charge of the holiday home is service excellence personified. She made sure that our stay there becomes a memorable one and she guaranteed our return there.
We never knew about loadshedding, because the house is equipped with an inverter system that switches on during loadshedding. The house is very clean and tidy. The hostess (Sonja) was very friendly and helpful. We will definitely visit again.

Basic accommodation but great value for a stopover.
Place is very spacious with everything one needs. Lovely deck and view over the valley. Sonja is very friendly, helpful and accommodating.
The home was welcoming and nicely decorated. The only disappointment we've experienced was that the geysers were switched off by Tinash without notification. He is the one who showed us the house and provided the keys. We had to involve the property manager/owner (Francois) for assistance the next day and the issue was resolved. He is a lovely and good person to communicate with. The handyman (Mr Kekana) was also welcoming and friendly.
Everything worked and for a large group it is fantastic value for money. The person who met us was very friendly and helpful. The place is safe, tidy and has a beautiful view of Sabie.
