My only criticism would be that the wooden shutters are all old and rotting and so don't all open and close properly. They need to be replaced. The bathrooms are slightly quirky with an unusual layout but were absolutely fine for our stay.
Due to a lack of maintenance the house has a feeling of being dirty. Hinges are not working properly, had to wash the fridge ourselves because it smelled so badly of fish and the bathroom is the most unpractical one I have ever seen and in serious need of painting.
Although the house needs a lot of maintenance, especially the bathrooms, the amazing view and proximity to the beach is just amazing!
Waves is the right place to come and relax. The stoep is ideal for nice late afternoon visits. It is in a quiet neighborhood with not many 'walkers'.

This is a beautiful house with a lot of potential and a beautiful view! Right on the beach. The bathrooms are not really ideal. The second bathroom is really just a sink and toilet. I can't imagine anyone wanting to shower on top of the sink and next to the toilet. Everything will be soaked. Furthermore, the food bowls, plates etc. everything on open shelves in the kitchen and full of dust. The ornaments, books etc. the house is also full of dust and has not been cleaned for a long time. It was raining heavily when we were there and there is definitely a leak in the kitchen, because many of the plates were full of water. However, we enjoyed the fireplace every night and had a nice barbecue. The location is really fantastic!
But the cottage itself needs some attention. He is neglected and feels dirty. Needs paint and decent spring clean.
Family with small children plus grandma and grandpa! What a wonderful holiday, beautiful spacious house with the most beautiful sea view, right on the beach. Because TV is upstairs in the loft, it was never used, but not missed at all! Did miss a microwave. Fantastic location. Will go back again and again and again. Our hearts were very sore to leave.
Safe house. Small swimming beach in front of the house if you have small children. Ample space to stay and relax for longer than just a weekend.
Good location and had all one needs for a weekend retreat - a typical very simple seaside house without the frills but with the character. Shutters/doors swollen and difficult to open/close so property not recommended for aged/not physically strong renters.
No complaints - for those of us who have children, we would have preferred that the TV was downstairs on the ground floor and not up the steep stairs and the owners can feel free to invest in a microwave - otherwise everything was as desired.
Positive points: Beautiful view of the beach and sea. Very neat. Good braai facilities, nice fireplace. Paternoster Rentals immediately sent someone to replace the gas stove's gas cylinder - quickly and effectively. Negative points: Lacks a microwave. Multiple lights out of order - an agent from Paternoster Rentals was notified, they never came to replace the light bulbs. I experienced a lot of pressure from an agent of Paternoster Rentals to arrive at a time that suits her, despite the fact that the website clearly specifies that you can only move into the cottage by 1pm. I experienced this as extremely poor service.
Amazing location and fantastic views. More lights would be appreciated, especially for those who want to use the living area for reading in the evenings. Lovely atmosphere and extremely comfortable beds.

No check-ins or check-outs are offered on Christmas Day or New Year's Day.The balance of the booking is to be paid 3 days before arrival.
This unit may only accommodate the number of guests as specified on the booking invoice at any given time.
No loud music after 22:00.
No parties on the property, management reserves the right to evict tenants that do not adhere to this rule.
Kindly note that we do not have the authorization to do credit card payments on behalf of guests, we only accept EFT/Bank transfers.
A R 650.00 key and breakage deposit is payable on arrival. It is refundable within 7-14 working days after the house has been inspected and all found in order. Keys will not be handed over under any circumstances without full payment received.
DStv can be activated at an additional cost per day.
There is a pet fee of R250 for up to 2 dogs per house. No more than 2 dogs at a time.
