It was very cold and the door had openings on the sides and top. But the bed was nice and warm. Nice hot shower.
Only Ilze, Karel and aunt Sonja thank you very much for everything. They were very helpful. If one needed something, they helped quickly. They were also very friendly with everyone. Will visit there again.
We landed there at 8 o'clock in the evening, still the host and hostess made us steak and pizzas and brought them to our chalet.

Convenient stopover, a few minor issues. Bedside light bulb missing. No teaspoons. TV with bunny aerial, useless.
The stay was good but there are things one must consider once you want to stay there, especially chalet no 4 and no 5. There is DSTV, so watching TV via the aerial is a big challenge if you want to watch. Bring your own tea, staff, and toilet paper as we were told that you only get it once when you arrive and that is all. No room cleaning while you are there, no heater or aircon especially if you go there now because it is a thatched roof. Bring some spray to control spiders and other insects as you will be greeted by them. The shower at no 4 is big enough but the shower head doesn't make it possible to enjoy showering. The wardrobe needs some attention inside as it is falling because of age maybe. At least the staff there is very helpful, and if you ask for a microwave oven, they will supply, as well as the plates, fork, and knife. But you won't get them in Room 4 and 5, so ask for them if you're going to need them. Unfortunately, the plates are too big for the microwave oven if you want to warm your food. The food at the bar lounge or restaurant is nice, and the cafe also sells almost every essential you might need, and the staff is very helpful. I like the place, but you have to know a few things about it before you go. I will go there again, but at least I will be prepared. My team and I enjoyed the putt-putt golf.
The accommodation was clean and comfortable. The establishment is situated next to a tar road, and traffic could be heard, which is understandable. We selected this as a convenient overnight spot on a long drive, and for this, it was perfect. There are bar and restaurant services, which we did not use. Although we were there on a Friday evening, it was quiet.
The people were very friendly and helpful. The units met our basic needs. Good place to sleep over.

We were there an hour before the time but were allowed to enter, everything was clean and tidy and very safe.
They just have to look at the geysers. They turn off their fridges to save costs when there are no people but must turn them on early, before one checks in.

First of all they put us in the wrong chalet and we had to pay R600 extra for the 3 nights stay. The sink where you have to wash your dishes is in the bathroom. The kitchen equipment was dirty. The fridge was off so all our stuff in the fridge defrosted. The braai was dirty when we received it and had to wash it ourselves. The bar is right by the chalets and music plays until late in the evenings which makes it impossible to sleep. There are no chairs outside at your chalet so you have to sit on the floor and barbecue. The geyser does not work 100% so the water keeps getting cold when you take a shower. The putt-putt course is not working properly. There is almost nothing to do there. Not a quiet place at all. It is next to a main road so cars make constant noise. Overall we were not at all satisfied with the place and will not refer it to anyone else.
Stop there every year when we go on vacation.
Will definitely stay there again.

Just had a quick getaway with old friends. Cute little place for a short visit. Well equipped and the owners are real people of heart. It was just soooo cold but the heaters and extra blankets soon thawed us out! (or was it the sherry?)
Braai place is just not that easy to braai on.
We had no hot water and there was no hand soap in the bathroom. Furthermore, the accommodation was adequate.
We had a short visit, we drove early the next morning. Very good food and slept well.
WiFi didn't work and the TV picture was snowy. Nor was there four of everything with cutlery. Ashtray was still full of the previous guests' rubbish.
There was no connection and communication between tenants and the lodge.

The owners were very friendly and welcoming. Customer service was very poor to say the least.There were spider webs on every corner of the house,the windows were also covered in spider webs. We stayed for 3 nights and our bedding was not changed, no clean towels were supplied, no toilet paper provided, no mop to clean if you spilled water on the floor. House keeping is so poor! I brought my DStv decoder and there was no satellite dish. Luckily this was a business trip and I spend most of the time out,otherwise I was not going to be able to stay for that long. I would prefer if the reception area was separated from the bar because it's not convenient if travelling with kids.
I would never never recommend it to anyone, they don't have courtesy, the accommodation is very very bad. Toilets, bathrooms and roofing are leaking. Electricity problems (plugs were not working) we prepared beds for our selves (with old bedding). Their kraals are just next to the rooms and there is a terrible smell coming towards the rooms. The management is not welcoming (they are very impolite). I regret. I don't recommend it to anyone.
The stay was so uncomfortable with family as I didn't feel like I'm on holiday and I had to cut my nights short, the lady was so unfriendly, my kids didn't enjoy the pool. I won't recommend anyone to go stay at that place.

Wawiel Country Lodge offers excellent accommodation. They also have a restaurant that serves very good meals at reasonable prices. They are about 10 km out of Ventersdorp, somewhat off route, but that didn't matter. The road is quite busy at night and can be heard in the chalets. The chalets are very neat and comfortable.
We know there are insects etc. in the outdoors however my daughter was badly bitten indoors and we think in her bed. When we requested clean bedding we were made to feel unwelcome and staff and management were rude. We had to check-out by 10:00. We left a little after 10:00 and had to leave the keys in the cabin as reception gate was locked and there was no one to let us out.
During that night no one bothered to come and explain the matter to us. In the morning when we left we saw no one at the reception.
The place is beautiful, nice for relaxing and clearing your mind. Sonja and the team were very friendly and helpful. We are hoping to visit the place again.
Wawiel Country Lodge offers secure and neat overnight accommodation. Would've preferred to have a bar fridge though.
Accommodation was very clean and tidy. Restaurant has a very nice atmosphere and the best mallow pudding ever.

We sent a message to move our check-in date. They adjusted it without any problems or penalty. We arrived late, again no problems. Everything is convenient and comfortable. Restaurant near accommodation. Good, nice staff.
The room is neat. Unfortunately the ad is wrong and I paid R200 more and the water ran out while I was in the shower.
