Excellent value for money and place is neat.
I would have liked it if the Wi-Fi password was given when I booked in. No normal tea was available only rooibos. The TV is very old and up against the ceiling with only 1 channel. No channels to choose from. I was given a locked garage for my bakkie. That was a huge plus. Thank you.
Pleasantly surprised, very friendly staff. Breakfast (an added cost extra) was as ordered and bang on time. Generous supply of extra blankets for a Free State winter. The only 'down', is that in spite of assurances the geyser was working, I couldn't coax any hot water out of the tap.
It's quite clean and provides coffee and tea. We did arrive there late just before loadshedding and the hostess also provided us with lights. Parking not very nice, but not unsafe either.
Had no problem. They can feel free to upgrade, especially bathrooms. Had one towel per room, can provide more towels.
Was a challenge with the aircon not working, was damn hot but there was a backup fan gut. Another challenge was no bar fridge to keep things cold.
It was nice, air conditioning should be considered.
Very clean and tidy, but not modern. Was not safe parking for our vehicle. Meals also not available as on website. If they buy for you, it is inhumanly expensive. Still, it's still a nice place for a quick stopover.

We had a really nice stay, and the workers are incredibly friendly and helpful. The only negative thing I can mention is, when there is loadshedding, there is no lighting where one parks the cars in the garage, my wife felt very unsafe when she should have gone to store the car and walked back to the room . Unfortunately I couldn't, I was on crutches. But overall it's a very neat place, with very friendly workers. Thank you.

Shortage of power points for mobile phone chargers and for laptops.
The only negative was that the shower did not have a curtain. The entire bathroom is under water after a shower.

We couldn't park the car at the store as it was far and lockers don't work. Parked outside the premises. The bed, it's totally not comfortable, they are actually hand made, it's really terrible especially when you are with your partner.

The beds creak when you lie on them, it feels like it's going to give way at any moment. There is no Wi-Fi, the rooms are cramped and then guests arrive at 3 o'clock in the morning and knock you awake for accommodation.
I would definitely stay there again, as the accommodation is affordable, and provides all the basic needs. The breakfast is top notch.

The staff is friendly and everything is clean and tidy. The room is small, bedside lights are at an awkward height, TV is high on the ceiling. No place to put suitcase down. A restaurant right next to the guesthouse is a bonus. Secure parking.
The place is very neat and clean. The hostess is very friendly and helpful. Please have a look at the loose tiles around the pool, because my son stepped on a loose tile and landed in the pool. The pool is very close to the rooms and I shudder to think if a small child should fall. Also, the pub next to the guest house, especially on a weekend is quite a problem, as it is a noise until morning. We didn't get much sleep over it.

Very convenient for an evening or two. The 15 minutes' drive to the casino can feel quite longer with all the circles, especially if you do not know Welkom at all!
We feel it is not worth the money: 1. The room we were supposed to get smelled so much of cigarette smoke that we could not accept it. 2. The other room has only one TV station. The other is just snow. 3. The toilet's water ran all night without stopping even though we tried to stop it ourselves. 4. When we woke up in the night the room was full of cockroaches and the carpets smelled dirty. 5. The garage door is in poor working order and almost came down on the roof of my car. 6. There is a bar right next to the place where the people made a lot of noise until late. 7. Our vehicle had to be parked outside with no fence or provision of security.
The reception was friendly and very helpful. Apart from the fact that our toilet leaked a lot of water and that the linen was not very clean and due to the lack of sleep the mosquitoes, I would recommend it to other people.

The small closet only had two hangers. We stayed for 3 days and we were 2 ladies! Difficult with only two hangers!
The bathroom was not "user friendly", not for older persons. 1) No shower. 2) Tub without plug. 3) The layout of bathroom not for old people. Toilet, sink and bath on platform/stair type building? Makes no sense and is dangerous. Was hot and fan didn't work, they had to go through the room to find one that worked.
Card facilities is a problem at a lot of shops. Cash is king! Otherwise the people were very friendly and helpful. Didn't know Welkom and its suburbs are so big!

I can recommend Wel-rie Guesthouse without hesitation. Reception by Nelia was very warm and together with the atmosphere of relaxation created by the beautiful courtyard and swimming area, one immediately feels at home. The bed and facilities are excellent and we experienced no noise during the night or otherwise. Staff are friendly and helpful and the managers Nelia is a star! Will stay there again if in that area.

Wel-Rie was clean, neat and the staff very friendly. Breakfast was good value for money. Highly recommended. This is not a "fancy" guest house - but very good value for money.
Floor wet, toilet leaks, no floor mat in front of the shower, but the rest completely acceptable. Everything neat and clean, just the bathroom needs attention and the shower curtain is horrible.
Bedroom and bathroom was clean and neat. The only problem was the gate at the entrance that was never locked and the fact that you had to put the kettle on the floor to reach the plug.
I was only disappointed with the bed. I was given a room with twin beds instead of a double bed. When I asked for a room with double bed, I was told that my booking was late. However, on the overall, our stay was good.
I feel that the guesthouse can put some effort into making the place more modern. It will give them the opportunity to get more guests and offer more comfortable accommodation. Overall the accommodation wasn't too bad. The air-conditioner just made a lot of noise so I wasn't able to have it on through the night and the room got hot very quickly.
The safety door doesn't always close. Bathroom had a couple items that were empty (like the soap dish) or broken (like the soap dish). No place to put your suitcase.
You get what you pay for with this one - hard and creaky bed, horrible shower curtain, etc.
The swimming pool was green. We couldn't use it at all. They don't take cards which is simply unacceptable. Business travellers don't travel around with loads of cash. I had to go and draw some money. No internet. The staff at reception work unacceptably long hours. Only take-away cafes. We had to drive to Welkom.
No air conditioning. Located far from everything.
