I recently stayed at Welgemoed Villa in Cape Town and had a pleasant experience overall. The unit itself was very clean and well-maintained, which made for a comfortable stay. However, there were a couple of minor issues that stood out. The tap in the bathroom was a bit loose, which was a slight inconvenience, and the pool area looked a little untidy during my visit. That said, these were minor things, and everything else was great. The location was convenient, and the villa provided a relaxing atmosphere. I would consider staying here again.

Fairly close to the business center of the Northern suburbs, but in a lovely quiet neighborhood across from Welgemoed Golf Course. Beautiful view of the golf course with little traffic noise. Ideal for central accommodation to explore the Cape or for an overstay if for business in the Metro. Lovely self-catering accommodation with everything you will need in the room.

Great area and good clean room. Unfortunately, I had a couple of issues. WiFi was advertised; however, it did not work 9 times out of 10. There is a strict no smoking in the rooms policy; however, chairs and an ashtray were placed outside the rooms (which another guest used, causing me to keep my door closed the entire stay). There was mould on the roof and blinds in the bathroom. Also, there was no communication before, during, or after the stay.

We are from the countryside and had to go to the Cape for a few days. It was so nice after our busy day to go to the peaceful and beautiful room, relax and sleep very well. Will definitely stay there again.
WiFi was a bit of a problem.
It was a pleasure to stay in the Zinnia room at Welgemoed Villas. Everything was spotless, the room was spacious with beautiful, Instagram-worthy decor and the stunning view was a bonus. Our car was safely parked inside and the surrounding area was quiet during the night. It was lovely and we would absolutely visit again.

The dog barked a lot, we had to move our car from the place that was initially allocated to us according to the room name and had to wait until late for another remote and wanted to go to sleep. It's inconvenient.
Bathroom and shower floors are smooth marble. Very dangerous because it's soapy. Shower does not drain fast enough, resulting in the entire bathroom floor being flooded. If the power is off, one cannot boil water. All other places in this price range offer gas dusting as standard. Not really self catering. No pots, pans, bowls and ladles or grilling equipment. The mattress on the bed is pathetically soft and makes you get up with a backache. There is no leaflet with rules and WiFi password.
The hostess brought a cup with warm water for coffee while it was loadshedding. Really appreciated it!

I booked this accommodation for one of our technicians and will not use Welgemoed Villa again as they don't offer electricity during loadshedding. When he checked in, there was a little coffee etc., on offer but it was never replaced once used, and parking is not great.
It's self-catering, so service is out of the question. Did receive a text message about key and access. However, I was driving when the message about this came through and therefore did not see it immediately and then called when I got to the gate. Room was neat but questionable about how clean it was. Musty smell in room. Location was good as it was close to where I needed to be. Pretty safe. I only stayed 1 night then. Left Saturday morning about 9:30am. Shouldn't have booked second night. There was no point returning at 6pm and then sitting for hours with no power - and no WIFI. Was waste of money.

The place was very cute and very beautiful which adds to a feeling of vacation. A little bit of trouble with the shower's hot water. We were put in a better room than we booked but they didn't let us pay for a better room.
Upon arrival that Friday, I called the host 3 times and everytime it went to voicemail. I waited 30 minutes at the gate and ocassionally hooted before one of the cleaning ladies came to open the gate. The room is cramped and the bathroom is even worse. I had 2 towels at my disposal during my 3 day stay. The bar fridge was in the cupboard and not working. There's no microwave to heat up food neither is there a table to eat at.

The location is very special with a good view and area is very safe. The reception was not good as I had to wait outside for a long time and tried several times to get hold of the reception lady. At other accommodation areas, the receptionist accompanies us to our accommodation, as booked, but did not happen here. Furthermore, there was no plug in the rooms except for those using electrical appliances. The WiFi didn't work either. During check-out reception was again not available. Sent a message to advise that the keys were left where I found them, but have yet to receive a response to that message either.
It is strange that there was no one in the room to clean after the 1st night. We are used to making our own bed but deduced that no one was in the room. The bed was as we made it, the glasses were on the drying rack as we left them and the 2 cups were still in the sink. The faucet at the kitchen sink is loose and it leaves a poor image. The security door is also very hard to open, a little TLC might fix that. Furthermore, my 2-night stay was very nice, thank you very much. These are small things that can be fixed quickly.
Had trouble getting in at gate. Was quickly taken to our room by the owner's daughter, after that we didn't see anyone again, not even when we went out. According to the website's information, there would be DStv channels, however, it was an Open View decoder. Could still work with it, if it weren't for the fact that I still had to connect it myself. There were coffee and tea facilities but no milk. Milk was not put on a small table in front of our door until the next morning, we discovered this when we were on our way out. I received the text about the milk on the table as we were leaving the premises. What I can say is that the room was very clean. Will not stay at Welgemoed Villa again.

Bad smell in room, DStv not working, power cuts out continuously, no bathroom door, counter too high to work at, Wi-Fi signal poor. The irregular steps inside the unit between kitchen and the bedroom are dangerous. They did allow us to stay later than normal which was very kind and the owner/manager herself is lovely.
The room is large and overlooks the golf course from the patio / balcony. The landlady is very friendly and helpful. The DSTV initially did not want to work, but she still sorted it out that night and then we could lie down in bed and watch movies. The rooms are quite soundproof and well spaced. We couldn't hear the other guests at all. There is a very nice pool. It is in a courtyard and partially covered so it is completely sheltered from the wind. So you can enjoy swimming without getting sunburned or cold when getting out.

Palms apartment still not up to standard but Ivy apartment was pleasant.
It was a bit hard for us as a couple. We never got to see any staff during our stay only had to go look for some one on our way out. We used to meeting someone who will run by.

No one was at the guest house to receive us. Sat in front of gate for 10 minutes. Called Yolanda who opened a section of the gate for me to walk through. Walked through the whole house before I saw a key and remote to open the gate for my husband. Later, after I walked through the entire guesthouse for a second time, I found the housekeeper who showed us our room. Our power didn't work because the geyser did not work. The technician would only come out the next day. Then we moved to another room. Wrong remote control that could not open the gate was given to us by the domestic worker. Couldn't get in or out of the gate or house that evening. The next morning, Yolanda told us that Cindy, who was supposed to receive us, was on leave. The first time we meet someone from the guest house except the domestic worker. Certainly will never stay there again or recommend the place. Rooms are very cold, no air conditioning or heater.

On arrival at the Villa, within the check-in time, our hostess was not there and mentioned that she would be there in a few minutes, after which her school-aged daughter was dropped off to help us. The bathroom door cannot close properly, is very small, the main light in the room did not work, neither did the DStv. The hostess did not answer her phone when we wanted to make arrangements for check out, and we never even met her. Proper customer service would make a difference.

The room was simply not habitable. Seems like the host allowed smoking in the unit because I could pick up the smell of nicotine. Room was ice cold with no heating facilities. Aesthetically not pleasing and security was a concern given that the gate was on manual.
