The host, Chris, was fantastic with all the info he send regarding the different activities in Gansbaai. The location we stayed at allowed us to take early morning and sunset beach walks. Whale watch was really a home away from home for us. No loud noise really just a relaxed weekend. Thanks, Chris will definitely recommend it and come again.

Unit is poorly designed: sink too small with solid faucet (can't get your head in sink); shower bath does not have a footrest or fixed soap dish; towel rails too short to hang bath towel on. Positive: friendliness serious helpfulness of owners.

We had such a great time at this accommodation. The accommodation comfortably sleeps 6 people in 3 individual rooms. We were greeted with a safe, clean, modern apartment which included some nice, tasteful artwork from the owner's wife. There is even a garage to park your car. The apartment is equipped with everything you need to have a relaxing break away from a busy schedule. The owner, Chris, not only made us feel comfortable and welcomed, he also has a lot of great knowledge about Gansbaai and provided us some excellent recommendations for restaurants and activities for us to enjoy in Gansbaai. My only complaint is that our stay at Whale Watch accommodation went by so fast. We will definitely stay at Whale Watch again. Thank you, Chris, for being an amazing host.
Clean and sunny. The fabulous owners make you feel so welcome you want to stay forever. You only need to take you food, the house has absolutely everything you need - plus the owners wife's original paintings all over!

Whale Watch was a lovely accommodation place. It's very neat and clean. There was everything we needed. We were received with kindness and the owner Chris was able to give us thorough knowledge about any questions we had. Chris and Pauline went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable and carefree. The braai place is nice and secluded, and there are walking paths near the house. We stayed 6 nights and could have easily stayed another week!
This compact unit was neat, clean and well laid out and organised. We were met by the friendly host and given a thorough orientation of the premises as well as things to do in the surrounds. The base is perfect as a sleeping place to travel from and to settle back in the evenings. Although it can accommodate 6 people, it is great for a family - would not be as good for 2 or 3 couples looking for a weekend away as the braai area is quite disjointed from the house. I would definitely go there again with my family if I wanted to visit Gansbaai and the surrounding areas.
Nice apartment behind the house. Neat and precise, garage has direct access to the apartment. Very safe. 12min walk from the sea. Road traffic unfortunately makes more noise than the roar of the sea.

The place was very nice, comfortable and tidy. Would only recommend putting out extra toilet paper, black bags, coffee and sugar. Also that the salt and pepper jars are filled. The advertisement can also include what guests must bring with them. But other than that Chris was very helpful and friendly we felt at home we will definitely stay there again the braai pit is awesome. You can have fun there and Gansbaai is beautiful.
We did not have the weather expected in January. Rained and stormed for 3 days. Did not ruin our break at all as there is lots of reading material, fluffy cosy blankets and exceptionally comfortable beds. Great cooking facilities and every channel of TV one could want. Chris was very welcoming an his wife Pauline's art work added to ambience of a cottage near the sea. Security is excellent. Many thanks!
The bedrooms were fine but the dining/sitting/kitchen area is far too small for 4 people. There were 3 of us and we very very cramped, especially as there is no table for meals, just a kitchen counter which is inadequate. Our host was very pleasant and approachable.
We found the accommodation fresh and so inviting. The bedrooms had fresh linen and made you feel you are now officially stress free and relaxed.
The place is beautiful and a pleasure to visit with all the necessary items and well equipped with everything we wanted to use, even the bedding and towels were included. It was a great pleasure to be able to stay there for the weekend. Our vehicles were also safely in a garage and behind a locked gate which made it an even bigger bonus. The people's hospitality was excellent.

On arrival, the owner was surprised about who we were. There is a steep staircase. The water was off during one stay. We left earlier than planned. Please check the website carefully before placing accommodation on their website.
