We could walk down to the beach and enjoy the sun and sea without worrying about our belongings at the apartment - the peace of mind was welcome.
The advertisement is misleading as it states that the room we chose has a sea view which is not the case at all. On the contrary, we could hardly hear the sea. In the bathroom between the bath and toilet is a drain pipe, as soon as a person takes a shower, it gets so stuck inside the bathroom that you can hardly breathe there. The ceiling fan and vent in the bedroom were not clean, and it was very noticeable. Annelie and her son were very nice.
Whale Watchers Inn, I personally think is overpriced they can do better in that aspect but as for the stay there place is very nice.
Urgently needs a lick of paint and an upgrade. Tacky bathroom and shower door, fridge could be made to look more decent from outside. Dining table chair cushions were dirty.
What a lovely place close to the sea and close to everything would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a break. My wife and I really enjoyed ourselves.

Clair was a wonderful and helpful hostess. With bad holiday weather, the unit was just too cramped for our family of 4 (adult children). Although the unit and bedding were neat and clean, we can see that the complex as a whole needs some attention and renovation (although I understand why Clair and her husband don't want to spend thousands of rand right now). The WiFi (more important when holiday weather is bad) was erratically weak and inadequate.
Practically by the sea and the Anchorage restaurant. Very peaceful surroundings with many walking opportunities.

It was a fantastic weekend. Upon our arrival we were greeted warmly by the hostess and taken to "Mom's Place" which was wonderfully equipped with everything one has at one's own home. You feel so at home there and we will definitely go there again.
Reception and accommodation was excellent. They will just have to look at phone reception, had no signal for the weekend.

We spent 2 nights at whale watchers. Cannot fault the location, the host and value for money. However, a few things in the self catering room need attention such as the shower door and the stove. A bit of attention and refurbishment could turn the place into a 4 star establishment.

We had a wonderful stay at Whale Watcher's Inn. The accommodation was neat, and had everything we needed.
We really had a great time as a family of 7 adults and 2 small children and stayed for 8 nights. Whale watchers Inn's location is ideal for families with children as the sea is just across the road. It is safe accommodation and doors do not need to be locked. The owners and cleaning staff are friendly. Things that need attention are Big Cob's bar stools and shower door. The WiFi reception is not 100%, but worked well at times.
Although the reception was friendly, I was disappointed in the accommodation. The room was booked as a sea view which is not correct. The mattress was very soft and the carpets appeared dirty. We couldn't leave here fast enough.

The accommodation was neat and clean, but it was rather old-fashioned. Breakfast is extra and DStv is also excluded unless you bring your own card. We stayed at numerous guesthouses of the same price range this past holiday, where breakfast and full DStv were included in the price. There was also a note stuck in the bathroom warning the guests not to dirty the linen, otherwise it will also be added to your bill. I didn't like it. Parking is on the street outside the guest house.
Place needs maintenance urgently. The mattresses need to be replaced immediately. No water pressure. In the shower you either burn or freeze. Staff burst into the room without knocking, very unpleasant. Was so disheartened with the accommodation, we left a day early. Parking was a total nightmare, too little space for big vehicles.

Nothing is too much trouble for them. We really enjoyed it. The owner is even willing to make dinner reservations for her guests. And the breakfast is incredible value for money. We will definitely stay there again. Thank you very much.
Very hospitable. We booked a garden flat, but Clair was nice enough to upgrade us to a seafront apartment. There were only two guests when we arrived. The apartment is a bit cramped with two beds in the living room. A drawback for me was that there was only enough room for one suitcase. If you have two children, I don't know where you are going to put all of their clothes.
Hostess received us with a delicious cup of tea and coffee. The room was spacious with a beautiful view. Spacious, neat bathroom. Great value for money.

The carpet has apparently not been properly vacuumed in a long time. The bathroom window opens above an outside area from which a terrible stench emanates. The bathroom's "extractor fan" makes a terrible noise.
Upon our arrival at the Whale Watchers Inn we were warmly received by Clair. We were surprised with coffee and biscuits. Parking was right in front of our room and the room was perfect. Everything we needed was available. Our braai area was very private and we spent hours there. The breakfast was top notch. The main beach was a 5 minute walk from the room and there are fantastic places to fish in the river. Early in the evening Clair brought us hot water bags. Here we received wonderful service. If you want service delivery, visit the Whale Watchers Inn at Witsand.

We stayed in the garden unit behind the main complex. The unit was nice and private. Unit was neat and clean. Kitchen was well equipped and everything worked well. Staff very hospitable. Parking was convenient and close to the unit.

One of the best B/B I have ever stayed in.
A lovely spacious room for a family of four, but with no sea or garden view from the specific residential unit it will be a bit cramped for a visit longer than a weekend. The breakfast was delicious, but a bit on the expensive side, especially when children only order two items on the menu and still pay R60.

Top notch rural hospitality. We were welcomed with a delicious fresh cup of coffee on our arrival and could immediately make ourselves at home in our neat but simple room. Our hostess was very helpful with information about what to do and see in the area. On her recommendation we had dinner at the beach cafe - it was a nice surprise to come across such good seafood there. One feels completely safe walking the short distance to the beach. The breakfast the next morning was top notch - we were actually sorry we didn't spend another night there.
