Whistling Bridge cottage provided us with an exceptional overnight stop on our journey up the N1. We were met by our friendly host, Kim, who showed us the way to the cottage along the farm roads and settled us into the very well-appointed cottage. The spacious accommodation was clean and very comfortable. Our only disappointment was that we were not staying longer. The padkos coffee and hot chocolate from the farm stall was our parting treat.
I had a wonderful time. It was just enough to recharge my batteries. Thank you for allowing me to spend the night in your lovely, comfortable house.

Angeline was very welcoming and always attentive to our needs. The Cottage location was perfect; we were a group of friends getting together for 4 nights after a long time apart. Quiet, despite the N1 being not far away. Lovely for long, peaceful walks (sometimes with sheep!). We received more than enough wood for both indoors and outdoors. Morne was also very helpful. The WiFi was a bonus; the TV was probably not necessary (we never switched it on). We never used the wood-fired hot tub on the stoep, but will definitely do so next time!

The place has so much potential, but is sadly neglected. There is no seating in the garden to enjoy the carol air. We stayed in a room in the house. There is no coffee station, refrigerator, or even hand soap in the room. The shared kitchen doesn't even have a microwave either. The kitchen equipment that was there was also out of order. The room and the bathroom were clean and tidy.

It is a very beautiful house. I was very happy that I could take my pets with me. Everything is in good condition and I will definitely stay there again.
We spent the night at Whistling Bridge Cottage with our two sheepdogs. Kim and Angeline are absolutely phenomenal. Angeline was very helpful and made sure we had a great meal using the braai packets they sell at an extra cost. The house is fully equipped, very comfortable, clean and tidy. We had a great barbecue and slept well.
Was a center for us from Bloemfontein and others from Somerset-West to spend the weekend together. Everything as in the photos. Nice fireplace, thanks for all the loads of free wood. Well equipped, everything needed. Nice place to walk on the farm and place for our sheepdogs to run. Not far from the main road, yet one feels deep in nature. Staff friendly and helpful. Private but safe feeling. Definitely worth it.
We only stayed overnight and love the place so much that we will come back to enjoy it with friends for a weekend!
We had a comfortable stay and the team were very helpful and responsive. We loved the farm dam pool and the lovely old homely house with character. My only complaint was that the farm dog spent a great deal of the night barking at nothing, which kept us awake, and we felt a little vulnerable as the door to our room wouldn't close or lock at all.

A spacious cottage that is beautifully equipped with more than one needs. It's perfect for a stopover along the highway, but would also make a great getaway destination. And to make it all better it's pet friendly. You will definitely see me again.
Was initially going to check in between 16:00 and 17:30, then the car developed problems and only arrived at 23:15. Angeline was on her post and incredibly helpful even at that time of the night! Great appreciation.

I had a wonderful long stay with all the conveniences in this beautiful cottage on a working farm with a glorious view. Highly recommended for a break from the daily grind.
A cute place, but it was a bit hard to find. Some of the beds still had pet hair on them. However, the house is quite well appointed and spacious. We appreciated the exceptional silence on the farm.
Nice stay after my wife got over her shock. Dark woods, dilapidated house, only guests made everything appear ghostly until we put everything into perspective and relaxed.
The house and property were lovley but it was under renovation so there was a lot of junk lying around. The old house was stunning, however we were unaware that we had to share a bathroom with another family of 4 and another tenant which really threw us off. The room we were in was very old and dusty. I would say renovations and a new interior design needs to happen before they rent it out. Also more bathrooms should be added or it should be made very obvious on the website that there is a SHARED bathroom with multiple people.
