Easy to find, had everything we needed and Ross went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable. Highly recommend a hike up to the deck at the top of the mountain, incredible view!
Had a wonderful midweek break with our 3 brats and little girl (2). The location of the farmhouse is fantastic, with an incredible view of the dome. Different braai areas, nice swimming pool and the large, green lawn were perfect for picnics. Ross's communication is excellent and he checks in daily to make sure everything is ok. The farmhouse is simple and unadorned, but exactly what we wanted with a busy toddler and puppies. We will be back again with friends and family!
Wish you could rate the host as well because the host really deserves 5 stars for how he hosted my mom and I. We had a lovely time, it was peaceful, a real reprieve from the hustle and bustle of city life. Would not only recommend but go there again myself.

We loved sitting under the big trees by the pool. The walk up the hill is well marked and maintained with a magical view from the deck.
It was wonderfully quiet. Nice to get away from it all. The microwave doesn't work and we needed it. We have reported the problem, but it has not been resolved. There is no cell phone signal. Not from any network.
We were a group of friends there for New Years weekend and it was exactly what we needed. Farmhouse is very well equipped with beautiful view of mountains and sunset. The different braai and boma areas are fantastic, braai in a different place every night was nice. Swimming pool came in handy for a nice, hot day. Rooms were very nice and clean and the whole house made us feel very much at home. Thank you very much Jeanne and Michael for looking after us so well.

Absolutely adored staying here. Everything was clean and functional. The place is far more magical than the photos show, would definitely go back and will be recommending to all! The perfect stay for me and my friends!

Place could definitely be cleaned a bit more.
Although the area and the farm have very nice views, the house is neglected. The house contents, especially the kitchen, are not at all up to standard for the price one pays for the house. You get the feeling that the kitchen and the rest of the house are things that the owner no longer wanted. Kitchen and bathrooms need a good cleaning. Bed linen had marks on it and towels were old and in poor condition. Water pressure was bad and very infrequent with sometimes no hot water coming through. The drain pipes of the house must be cleaned. Overall the place has a lot of potential but needs attention and should be better equipped for sure.

Tranquil, clean and neat!
The house has everything one needs for a weekend getaway. There is enough to keep the children busy and the farm is beautiful with the most beautiful sunsets. There was constant loadshedding at the weekend, but it didn't affect us at all, as the house is equipped with lamps as well as a gas stove and gas grill. Ross' communication which is excellent and Mike who cleaned is a super star. We will definitely visit Wild Olive again!
Coming from town and seeing the sun set behind the mountains in striking orange with the milky way so clear, is to remove yourself from the outside world. Everything is just right.
The house is very well equipped and it's nice that it has different wings. Very nice area and lawn. Kids could play and have fun safely. Will definitely go again! Remember to arrange in advance if you are looking for a cleaner.

A beautiful house with a lot of potential, but a bit neglected and cleanliness not up to standard. Lounge set's cushions not clean enough. Doors creaking, light bulbs not working, sink in bedroom closest to pool plug not working. Shower clogged in the middle. The drainage pipes in the house must be cleaned well. Some of the plates, cups and saucers were cracked.
Wild Olive Country retreat is just outside the town, very well located and easy to drive in and out quickly. The place is very nice clean and tidy and met all our expectations. I would recommend the place to anyone, very good value for money!
The place is neat and well equipped. It is like being in the Bosveld. The air is clean and the silence does one's soul good. We will definitely go again!
The only shortage was larger pots (casserole etc.), as well as things like serving spoons and serving bowls. Our group was 8 people and I found the pots to be a bit on the small side for food preparation for a larger group of people. The house is very comfortably furnished with clean and tidy bedding and towels.
We had a very relaxing weekend for my birthday. The house is spacious and the setting is off-the-grid, yet close enough to Parys to explore the town. The grounds are well-kept and the outdoor seating under the large trees were a highlight for us. The views from the patio were also very special. Ross made sure that we had a comfortable stay and even put out fresh flowers from the garden before our visit. My 2 Jack Russel's loved the large outdoor space! Definite must to re-charge and get away from the city and the rush.
Quiet and peaceful environment with very nice views in every direction. For us who gathered as a group of friends, it was the perfect accommodation to accommodate three families with children. Unlike many other places, Wild Olive Country Retreat only allows booking for one day, making it very good value for money.

The facilities were of high quality and the facilities were always neat and clean. The staff were very helpful and catered to all our needs. The optional maid we requested kept the house very clean. There are enough braai places so that you can hang out and braai in the cool at any time of the day. Flies are of course very troublesome at this time of year everywhere in the North West province and the owner may invest in an insecticide that will attract and shock the insects to death or in other methods to keep the fly population under control. We had a great time and will definitely go there again.
